Hope it went well. I had mine a couple of weeks ago and was dreading it but it was all fine in the end. I wish I could remember what perfume I wore but I know I did choose carefully!

Yes, thank you 😊
I've got a meeting at 2pm I'm not looking forward to

SOTD is Miller Harris Craft and Glamour. It was a blind buy that I am pleasantly surprised by as I haven't enjoyed any recent offerings from this house

musicmum75 · 13/05/2022 15:08

@IrisApfelRocks I also bought Craft and Glamour as a blind buy. I agree that I'm not usually a fan of Miller Harris but I do like this one.

gingerjones · 13/05/2022 20:54

Sotd maison margiela coffee break.

Bought lots of perfume during the lockdowns and I'm making myself use them on a large rotation! I'm enjoying this one.

Does anyone else have dreams about perfume/ the notes in perfumes they know?

FestivelyScent · 13/05/2022 22:44

SOTD for yesterday was Ambre Orient - twas a much better day than Wednesday; went on an impromptu and quite unexpected trip to London for an afternoon browse. Was a lovely day (especially for being so unusual) and a welcome change of scene. 😊 Popped into John Lewis Oxford Street to sniff around - they didn't have any Chanel Exclusifs! Will have to try Selfridges another time.

Today has been uber relaxing by contrast - as I'm so exhausted!

Perfume dreams sound interesting and quite wonderful @gingerjones Sadly haven't had one before - but I'd quite like to! I'm constantly thinking about perfume during the day though, or at least at regular intervals - first thing in the morning and evening especially. Usually wondering what to wear - how it will match what I'm doing/feeling or the weather etc. 🙂

SOTN is Tobacco Vanille.

DramaAlpaca · 14/05/2022 00:28

I think about perfume a lot, but don't dream about it. I wish I did!

Since I got my haul of 4160 Tuesdays samples I've been having fun trying them out. So far I love Rhubarb & Custard 1:29, my SOTD. I also love Fluffy Lemon Top, which is supposed to smell like an ice cream parlour but I get an irresistibly delicious lemony, woody musk.

Right now I've got Eau My Soul on one wrist and Meet Me On The Corner on the other and I'm enjoying both so far. I love the quirkiness of this house, the names and concepts are such fun.

FestivelyScent · 14/05/2022 19:47

SOTD is original aramis. Light and refreshing, but still possessing a bit of backbone - wonderful for a warm day like today. It smells like travelling in the summer to me; must be the leather. 😎🌞🙂

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 14/05/2022 21:53

Hello, I have been missing in action - still can’t smell properly which is really rubbish. See also - not tasting! SOTD Diorissimo. Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

ChiswickFlo · 15/05/2022 07:55

Sorry to hear that @Judystilldreamsofhorses

It's my 23rd wedding anniversary today so sotd my wedding day perfume - avon nightmusk 💙

Went sniffing in John Lewis...
The new mmm replica - after the rain - is OK. But I wouldn't wear it. Too green.
I tried coffee break again and it annoyed me just as much as last time (lavender and hot milk???. Yuck)

OP posts:
FestivelyScent · 15/05/2022 17:56

Hope you had a great day @ChiswickFlo 😊

SOTD is Fahrenheit parfum, for lazily watching television. Cannot believe the UK came second in the Eurovision last night (didn't watch but switched over for the results). 🙃

gingerjones · 15/05/2022 20:18

ChiswickFlo I have to say I was expecting coffee break to have a stronger - maybe bitter? - coffee note than it does. It does smell more like a latte with flowers floating in it than an espresso... but I do enjoy it and prefer it to black opium.

Have you tried intense cafe by montale? I haven't yet.. I wonder whether that would give the strong coffee note I crave?

gingerjones · 15/05/2022 20:19

Picked up my m&s cheapies today so am looking forward to having a sniff through those this week!

It's on my pp list to try! :)

I really dislike coffee break. It's horrible to my nose (admittedly I have ishoos with the smell of warm milk!!)

gingerjones · 15/05/2022 20:24

Understood!

How do you feel about by the fireplace? I have a small bottle of that as well but haven't reached for it much, as the perfume reviewers say on YouTube!

ChiswickFlo · 15/05/2022 20:52

It's pretty much in my top 5 perfumes :)
(Although I prefer the pp version..)

OP posts:
ChiswickFlo · 15/05/2022 21:02

I find the replica range very hit and miss for me...

Btf is gorgeous 😍
Witl is also very nice
I don't mind lazy Sunday morning - it's pleasant
Coffee break makes me angry (fake advertising!!)
The others are just a bit meh to me (but they are very popular so what do I know??)

Interesting, thanks. It's annoying when you have differing views on perfumes from the same house.

As I probably said up thread, I have always loved fragrance and have historically had maybe 5 perfumes in my possession at any one time but I started to build up my perfume collection during the first lockdown and therefore most of my bottles have been blind buys. Nb should also say, I live in the sticks a long way from any department stores with testers! Testers in the local boots seem to be locked away for some reason. So my decision to buy or not has been based on hearing youtube reviewers' opinions and, of course, looking up notes on fragantica.

From the perfumes I have been collecting, strangely, my favourite house so far (and by that I mean house wirh the biggest number of thumbs up for the blind buys I've had) has been Hugo boss. I really love their fragrances. Also I've been buying some retro Calvin kleins and seem to like that house a lot too.

Sotd was issey miyake.

ChiswickFlo · 15/05/2022 21:23

You can't beat vintage obsession! 😎

OP posts:
DramaAlpaca · 15/05/2022 21:43

I started buying a lot more fragrance in lockdown too. A lot have been blind buys due to lack of nearby access to testers. I've got quite good at working out what I'll like based on Fragrantica and here of course, so my hit rate of liked blind buys is fairly good.

Replica is a funny one for me. I've tried a lot of them at this stage and have a few loves and more dislikes. I like BTF, love Whispers in the Library, Sailing Day, Lazy Sunday Morning and Flower Market. Don't much care for the rest. Oh, I like Matcha Meditation too once it settles down, the top notes are a bit much though.

ChiswickFlo · 16/05/2022 06:44

Well, the thunder here last night was rather impressive...
@FestivelyScent I think the next couple of days may be difficult for us migraine sufferers (muggy hot weather)
No idea what sotd will be...maybe one of my gallivant samples...

OP posts:
ChiswickFlo · 16/05/2022 08:06

Sotd gallivant Istanbul
