SOTD Chanel Cristalle.

I went into Space NK last night and tried some Byredo, also some delicious Laura Mercier almond hand cream and some lovely make up. SO NICE

CorneliaStreet · 10/05/2022 10:35

25% of all products at Escentual until Thursday . . .

CorneliaStreet · 10/05/2022 10:44

Trying La Perla Signature today. Violets at first and smells quite like Daisy when it first goes on, getting more jasmine now. It's too similar to other things I already have but might make a good everyday/office perfume for someone who likes light florals.

musicmum75 · 10/05/2022 14:49

Sotd is Poudre de Riz by Pierre Guillaume

gingerjones · 10/05/2022 20:42

Hi everyone, sotd is light blue love is love, it is addictive I have to say!

I've ordered lots of small cheapies from m and s today, including calm after the storm as per someone's suggestion above. Does anyone have any opinions on the newer m and s perfumes? I'm thinking of velvet rose and gardenia and vanilla??

CorneliaStreet · 10/05/2022 21:46

I got a couple of the M&S ones last week. The Gardenia & Vanilla is ok, a light floral. It doesn’t last very long on me, though at £6 a bottle you can just spray a lot.

I prefer the Neroli & Seasalt, very summery. I think I might take it with me when I go away at the weekend. Actually going abroad, which means airport duty free time 🙂

gingerjones · 10/05/2022 22:48

Thanks Cornelia, I've ordered the neroli and Seasalt too... yes for £6 you can't go wrong!

Enjoy your duty free shopping! Good chance to try out some new smells xx

FestivelyScent · 10/05/2022 23:30

Welcome to the thread @gingerjones 👋😊 I haven't tried the new M&S scents, will try and sniff next time I pass through the beauty dept.

SOTD is also By The Fireplace - I bet it smelled amazing layered with a marshmallow-y body creme @ChiswickFlo . 🙂

ChiswickFlo · 11/05/2022 07:04

Welcome @gingerjones 👋

I must have a sniff of the m&s scents next time I'm in town. They look quite Jo maloney?

It's grey and rainy here today again so sotd will be pp angels share.

I'm trying to be good and not buy anymore perfume...I really need to use up some of my samples and wear my fbs. Although I'd like a bottle of gallivant Istanbul at some point!

I've been on a mad book binge though 🙄
I've bought ds2 the heartstopper series (worth a watch on nerflix) and I've bought myself 4 novels 😬

Does anyone know what Duty free is like for perfume these days? Worth a look? Or rubbish? We are flying to Europe next month for 4 days...but I'm only after a bargain!

I’ll be at the airport tomorrow, will report back on the duty free situation!

SOTD is MMM Bubble Bath. I like the luxury soap vibe of this. It does get quite coconutty on me after a while, which is fine by me as I like coconut, but I know some people aren’t fans.

AprilLady · 11/05/2022 08:37

@ChiswickFlo For family reasons I’ve needed to travel a fair bit recently. So have spent time in Heathrow Terminal 5 and 2. Terminal 5 has a great duty free, lots of good brands (including some of the non-high street ones like Le Labo) and a wide selection in each, so great for testing!

Pricing wise, it’s always worth checking against online prices. In my view pricing is (relatively!) good for brands like Diptyque, Le Labo, Tom Ford which are seldom discounted elsewhere. They are genuinely priced at RRP less Vat (and if you join their loyalty scheme there is an extra 10% off too). If there is something in particular you want and they have it, it’s possible to pre-order for collection on the world duty free site (you’ll also get to see the pricing at that point).

Terminal 2 is not bad, but a bit disappointing in comparison to 5.

SOTD is Tauer Incense Rose, which smells pretty much as you’d expect from the name and brand. Strong incense smell, so one I use on WFH days as it’s probably too much for the office.

musicmum75 · 11/05/2022 10:06

Sotd is Tea Rituals - 5 o'clock by Brocard. Smells of earl grey tea and almond cake. I love it. It's very soothing on such a grey day.

Oh, the pp kayali vanilla dupes AMAZING 👏

Sithee · 11/05/2022 18:54

@ChiswickFlo Please tell me more about your marshmallow body crème. That combo sounds heavenly - mmm btf is an absolute favourite of mine and I love vanilla too so long as it is is cut with with something else (like tobacco - Marc Jacobs tobacco vanille is another fave). You combo sounds perfecto!

It's from a company called future primitive soap co based in Worcestershire.
I have her soaps, whipped soap and body creme.
It's all quite seasonal though so she may not have stock of it :(
It's amazing, very rich and the scent really lingers (in a good way)

ChiswickFlo · 11/05/2022 19:27

You should try kayali vanilla too!!
I recommend the pp dupe :)

gingerjones · 11/05/2022 22:36

Sotd was alien edt. I've never been a mugler girl and I got major fly spray vibes with this one when I first blind bought it and thought I'd made a mistake but it has really grown on me.

FestivelyScent · 11/05/2022 23:27

Great news about the Kayali Vanilla dupe, I will definitely be ordering that next time I place a pp order. 😊

SOTD is Shalimar. Today has just been up and down (mostly down, down, down) and I'm so tired and can't wait to get to bed. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. 😴🙃

ChiswickFlo · 11/05/2022 23:57

@FestivelyScent Sorry to hear you've had a bad day 😞

I've had an odd one. Lots of errands to run and hassle. Ugh.

Weather rubbish here. Grey, rainy...ugh

Peri menopausal insomnia strikes again 😑
Sote last night next cashmere. Haven't worn this one in ages. Very powdery.

Sotd 4160tuesdays SSOTPE for my early morning smear test 😬☹️😬

Hope it went well. I had mine a couple of weeks ago and was dreading it but it was all fine in the end. I wish I could remember what perfume I wore but I know I did choose carefully!

musicmum75 · 12/05/2022 11:20

Did choose carefully that should say!

musicmum75 · 12/05/2022 11:22

Sotd is Kenzo Flower L'Elixir. I really liked Flower when I was younger but I love this one a lot more. It's so delicious. Sweet but smoky at the same time.
