Ooh, forgot to add my SOTN. It's so boring, I'm not surprised it slipped my mind.

Right, so SOTN is No5, from the same person who didn't want their Dune mini.

I got nothingness for a few minutes and now I can smell the handsoap they used when I went to primary school. That's it. No lovely powder, or soft gauziness. Of course, I now recognise that I've smelled this on people everywhere - at the Drs and hospital, on the bus, in the supermarket etc. It smells much better on them, more powdery and soft, I always wondered what that perfume was (but had an inkling it was No5). Well, now I know that it doesn't smell half as nice on me.

I absolutely love Coco, and really like No 19, so I'm a bit surprised how meh I feel about it. I'm off to spray something a bit more interesting over the top of this.

Can I join in? Lurked a while and ordered the Karen Timpson discovery set. Only tried 2 thus far: Envide - didn't do much for me on first spray, but will revisit before ruling it out, Hera - I think I may be rapidly falling in love with. Such an unusual scent, but so beguiling. Can't stop sniffing my wrists! Will try the other samples over the next few days. I also ordered a discovery set from Experimental Perfume Club - 6 fragrances which can be layered up in any combo, or worn as a standalone. I don't think I'll be going for a full bottle, but some nice scents in there.

Perfumistas do any of you think Molecule01 smells like fly spray ?

No I love it :)
But it's a fragrance molecule not a perfume so try layering it

Sotd kayali vanilla

@LadyEloise1 Molecule 01 is Iso E Super I think. Personally I don't really like ISO E Super in fragrances, I can always smell it, it smells like sharp hand sanitiser to me, or like those wipes they use at the hospital on skin before a blood test.

If it's well blended in the fragrance, and I like the other notes, then it doesn't bother me too much though.

I highly doubt I could wear just ISO E Super, it would give me a headache!

I wonder is there a link from Molecule01 and the aerosol fly spray we had many years ago in my childhood home.

Hi @Alrightourkid. The Karen Timson set is great. I think my favourite is Hermia. Is Hera the orange blossom one? The rose one is lovely too.

SOTN is Kayali Vanilla. I love it just as much on me as I did on paper. To my nose, it seems to share a woody note with some of the 4160Ts creations - that much discussed woody basenote a few of them have in common. Fragrantica lists "amberwood" as a note for kayali vanilla. I think this must be Cedramber; I know that Sarah Mc is a fan of this molecule.

I love the Kayali Vanilla too @FestivelyScent. I get a sweet, burnt note (similar to By the Fireplace, but much more subtle and more of a burnt sugar, rather than smoky). It’s very comforting. It’s my favourite scent to wear at home in the evenings at the moment.

The hand cream is lovely too. You get a lovely strong hit of scent when wearing the two together.

Yes! I got a hint of smoky sugar in kayali vanilla too @CorneliaStreet It really is so comforting, and reminds me of baking during the mid notes. I could still smell the woody vanilla base when I woke up to turn over during the night - it made me feel all wrapped up and warm. Perfect for a SOTN.

Hi @CorneliaStreet ! I’ve had the rose and hermia on today. Rose I think a tad too floral for me, but liking hermia too! Think hera still in the lead for me. One left to try tomorrow:)

SOTD was Shay & Blue Tallulah’s Camellia. SOTE is Kayali Vanilla (again 🙂).

SOTN is Ambre Orient.

I bought a blind fragrance trial box from Escentual this month. They did a live reveal on Facebook this evening and my second favourite was a Bvulgari Man scent 🤣 it's been eye opening. Sadly my favourite was the most expensive one in the box, Histoires de parfums 1899. So strangely intoxicating.

Sotd avon lbd celebrate again

I tried Penhaligon’s The Favourite today. It’s a powdery floral - I got lots of violet, iris and maybe rose, apparently there’s mimosa in there too. I’m not normally a massive fan of powdery scents but I really liked this one.

SOTE is Si Intense. My (admittedly rubbish) nose can’t really distinguish this from the original. Maybe slightly fruitier when first on, but half an hour in it smells just the same to me.
