Shame about the Perfume Parlour dupe @Mrcpy Some are absolutely awful; some really really amazing. You do have to dig a bit to find the gems - it's just a case of trying and seeing, I suppose.

Other pp dupes I really like - pp Amber Absolute (the original is discontinued, but this really is a great frankincense amber), and their Amber Sultan (I compared it to the real thing, and when my admittedly huge bottle finishes I will just get their's).

I'm just about to make a pp order actually, for their Kayali Vanilla (as recommended by @Chevyimpala67 😊) and a bigger bottle of their Angel's Share.

SOTN is Miss Dior Originale.

ferretface · 18/06/2022 10:40

Going to spend a bit of time this weekend putting a sampler order together from 4160Tuesdays, thanks for the suggestions!

It's dropped in temperature about 15 degrees - SOTD Floral Street Chypre Sublime. I find the sillage and longevity absolutely massive on this scent. I like the style of a few of Floral Street's "darker" perfumes (and also enjoy Arizona Bloom as something a bit different) but this is the standout for me.

chiffchaffchiff · 18/06/2022 11:53

Couldn't find a Paul Smith Rose tester and I'm impatient so I've just blind bought a whopping 100ml. At £30 It seems like a minor risk.

SOTD is YSL black opium. My DH's favourite of all the perfumes I've worn. I wear it often when the weather turns bad.

Yesterday I wore By Kilian Moonlight in Heaven. I've noticed the reviews are hit and miss. On me, it's a beautiful fragrance in the heat, fresh but creamy. The type of sweet fragrance that doesn't get sickly after several hours.

Mrcpy · 18/06/2022 12:13

Regarding PP, I note that they don’t do any Chanel. Is this for legal reasons or because Chanel perfumes are harder to replicate? E.g. my favourite is Gardenia, which smells so complex and yet fresh at the same time, it’s basically £169 worth of witchcraft and I can’t imagine a dupe is easy to make.

Sadly I can’t afford to wear Gardenia every day, so SOTD is Calvin Klein euphoria which still makes me very happy

Sotd 4160tuesdays SSOTPE
It's 15 degrees but very very muggy here today
I suspect dh is coming down with ds2s lurgy and he is supposed to fly to frankfirt on Monday day. Fun times🙄

FestivelyScent · 18/06/2022 13:37

Very humid here too. It's about 24° outside (I am slightly envious of 15° 😁) but living in a flat, the temp is still 28° indoors! (and was all last night too) 🔥😑

Hope your DH feels better soon @Chevyimpala67

Mrcpy · 18/06/2022 14:04

@Chevyimpala67 I see 😅

DramaAlpaca · 18/06/2022 14:16

@chiffchaffchiff I fished out my bottle of Paul Smith Rose and am wearing it today. I don't think you'll regret buying it, it's a lovely fresh rose scent, not particularly green at all and definitely not powdery.

Chevyimpala67 · 18/06/2022 14:25

My LJR oriental Sans souci has arrived so I'm now wearing that.

Very well composed Amber scent

FestivelyScent · 18/06/2022 18:38

SOTD is Shalimar.

Puppylucky · 18/06/2022 19:17

@Mrcpy PP do do very well reviwed Chanel dupes, but they are not flagged as such due to legal reasons so you have to read between the lines based on the descriptions and reviews. Someone on this thread years ago posted a really useful list of the Chanel dupe names which I saved somewhere - will try and post - although I have noticed that PP have changed a lot of the fragrance names recently so they may not be the same now.

Alienbigcat45 · 18/06/2022 19:50

SOTD Shay and blue white peaches. Not really my type of thing but it was what I had in my bag after a swim.

PrincessCarolyn · 18/06/2022 21:35

Hi all, in a perfume-buying mood so I sent for some samples. Yesterday was Parfums de Marly Delina vs Poison and Poison won by a country mile, gorgeous. Delina fine but more generic and didn't last as well. Shame because I love the bottles but I will give the Delina flankers a try.

Only: my Poison sample is the EDP and I can only find the EDT on sale for original Poison, so I'd want to try that before I buy.

Today is Tom Ford Lost Cherry vs Flowerbomb. I prefer Lost Cherry which feels much more distinctive - Flowerbomb is nice enough but not really me and not as much of a 'bomb ' as I expected.

I tried Bvlgari Splendida Tubereuse Mystique in store recently and loved it. It also reminds me of something else I can't quite identify.

Also bought some heavily discounted Jean Patou Joy, mainly because it's been discontinued and I had to know why Jackie O loved it. I really do not know what to make of it. Don't like the opening and I get a definite whiff of cat pee in the middle of it, but once it dries right down I find myself thinking, "what is that amazing smell."

DramaAlpaca · 18/06/2022 22:10

@PrincessCarolyn I blind bought a bottle of Joy for the same reason as you. I love the sharp, green, rose opening but then it settles down to very whiffy farmyard and I can't stand it. It just doesn't work on my skin, sadly.

FestivelyScent · 18/06/2022 23:00

SOTN is Miss Dior Originale. I know this must be perfume treason, but MD Originale, as well as being really spring-like, always reminds me a teeny bit of extremely luxurious old fashioned bar soap - in the best possible way! Wonderful for hot weather.

That would be amazing…

FestivelyScent · 18/06/2022 23:49

@Mrcpy I'm not sure if this is any help, but I've taken a screenshot of a document I found when I Googled "Perfume Parlour Ch###l dupes". I've starred out the brand because I read they regularly search the internet for references to dupes of their fragrances (now I sound paranoid!). They are, as we have established, very litigious. I hope you can see it!

PrincessCarolyn · 19/06/2022 00:35

@DramaAlpaca Shame it doesn't work for you! I will keep trying but compared to Chanel No.5, which is of comparable vintage and reputation, there's no contest, No.5 remains on its pedestal as my favourite scent of all time - can't really call it a signature scent as I like to mix and match but it's been a staple since my college years. However the Joy bottle and packaging are very elegant so will make a nice decoration for my dressing table.

Puppylucky · 19/06/2022 00:40

@FestivelyScent that's the doc I remember! The main problem is finding them in stock as they don't hang around for long. In case the names have changed the main clues seemed to be oak moss and peach as notes
Hope that helps

CorneliaStreet · 19/06/2022 13:28

SOTD 4160 Fluffy Lemon Top.

It’s so chilly here this evening that SOTE is MMM By the Fireplace.

Chevyimpala67 · 19/06/2022 21:34

Sote kayali vanilla

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 19/06/2022 22:20
