I meant to say, the drydown of Theo Fennell was absolutely stunning and worth the wait.

Yes, it's fab 👌

I'm really hoping my LJR discovery set arrives tomorrow 🙏

Wonderful news about your friend @ChiswickFlo 😊 Fingers crossed your samples arrive tomorrow! 🤞 Personally, I honestly drive myself mad with anticipation waiting for things in the post - I'm just like a child really! 😂😊

Scotland always seem to have less Bank Holidays generally than here in England. It must be a devolved thing, but you would think BHs would be the same everywhere.

I think the jubilee is a bit bigger here in and around London, maybe because the celebrations feel so close. Lots of shops have bunting and flags and displays - even our railway station. In town there are Union Jacks above the whole of Oxford and Regent Streets, and lots of quirky commemorative window displays. I must admit I do enjoy looking at the decorations - and the atmosphere really is quite celebratory and cheerful and positive.

Have been in powdery heaven the past couple of days. Samsara was SOTN last night and this morning for watching the Platinum Jubilee Thanksgiving service. ⛪

SOTN is Ambre Orient. A bit chilly here this evening. 😊

ChiswickFlo · 04/06/2022 11:55

You'll enjoy it all the more when it arrives @ChiswickFlo Wink

SOTD Kayali Vanilla. Ooh, this is lovely. So not me on paper, but I want to lick my wrists! It reminds me of Kilian Black Phantom but it's much nicer and considerably cheaper.

I'm loving this thread for introducing me to so many fragrances I 'd never previously heard of or thought to try Smile

ChiswickFlo · 04/06/2022 17:02

True!
So glad you like kayali vanilla so much. I love it but vanilla can be a bit marmite 🙂

OP posts:
CorneliaStreet · 04/06/2022 19:26

I’m in Kayali Vanilla this evening too.

A few months ago I would have said I didn’t like vanilla, or any gourmands. Then I tried MMM By the Fireplace based on these threads and loved it. PP Angels’ Share is gorgeous too (also tried on the basis of recommendations here). I’m learning I like a much greater range of notes than I thought.

The only thing I really hate is something I don’t know the name of, but it is a really screechy synthetic note. I tried La Perla Signature this morning and that had it. SJP Lovely has it too for me, though I know lots of people rate that one. The worst is Versace Dylan Turquoise. I’ve tried it about three times as I got a 5ml mini in a Perfume Society box and, based on the notes, I should love it, but I’ve ended up washing it off every time. Wish I knew what it was, so I could avoid it!

ChiswickFlo · 04/06/2022 19:55

Is it aldehydes?

Is it aldehydes?

OP posts:
CorneliaStreet · 04/06/2022 20:23

Might be, maybe I should try something with lots of aldehydes to check. Whatever it is gives me a headache though, so not sure I want to!

ChiswickFlo · 04/06/2022 20:35

I disliked versace Dylan blue too

SOTD Arrogant Cat Dawn, starts off as a fresh orange milk shake and transforms to soft woody vanilla. Just waiting for a SOTE.

PestorPeston · 04/06/2022 21:18

Guess SOTE is Elizabeth and James Nirvana - straight up wood and vanilla.

Form1ess · 04/06/2022 21:29

With a name like Arrogant Cat i had to Google that Grin
SOTE is 4160 T ' A flame in your heart'
I really want to try the Theo Fennell after reading about it here...
Spent the day at the fun fare going on ridiculous rides, the waltzers never get old!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 04/06/2022 22:12

SOTD Chanel 5. We’ve been for Thai food which was lovely.

I ordered a full bottle of MH Violet Ida today. 21% discount on Look Fantastic all weekend. Thanks, Queen.

FestivelyScent · 04/06/2022 23:29

4160Ts have 10% off too, but typically I ordered my mini bottles last week. 😂

SOTD is Dancing with Strangers for watching the Jubilee concert on TV.

ChiswickFlo · 05/06/2022 07:54

Stauch Republican though I am I thought the bit with Paddington was super cute :)

And I'll always watch Queen play 💙. Elbow brilliant. Loved diversity. But Rod Stewart was just embarrassing 😳

Raining here today so sotd will be pp mmm btf

I'm so impatient to get my hands on the LJR discovery set 😫

SOTD some Shea butter hand cream from L’occitane 😅 It’s got a lovely smell so I don’t think I need to spray anything today. I’m working on a presentation today. Once the hand cream wears off I’m going to light a Jo Malone candle (peony and blush suede) and my office will smell amazing!

ChiswickFlo · 05/06/2022 10:26

Hmmm
I think I might light a candle or wax melt today..

SOTD L'arbre de la connaissance - Jovoy (I'm working through a sample box)
Quite like this, fig fragrances aren't something I've tried really but this gets the👍🏽.

FestivelyScent · 05/06/2022 18:22

Talking of candles, we had the most powerful vanilla and amber candle burning here yesterday - one of those crackling wick ones. You can still smell the fragrance lingering in the room now.

SOTD is Shazam for watching the Jubilee pageant, which was an absolute riot of colour and something really special and joyful. The Jubilee concert last night was really so magical too - the lights! And Paddington and the Queen! The performances both yesterday and today really were spectacular and unique. Right, that's enough from me, as I enjoyed both yesterday and today so much I could gush forever... I will certainly have a big smile on my face for the rest of the day. 😁😊❤️
