I agree, the concert last night was great. Didn’t see much of the parade today.

SOTD Atelier Cologne Lemon Island. I got this with another AC sample called Love Osmanthus and in my head they are one perfume called Love Island 😂

SOTE is Kayali Vanilla again.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 05/06/2022 19:12

SOTD JM Wild Bluebell.

I’ve not seen any jubilee coverage at all, but can highly recommend the Midwich Cuckoos on Sky.

ChiswickFlo · 05/06/2022 20:01

Sote kayali vanilla

SOTD Lanvin Arpege on a rainy day. Powdery, floral, chypre, aldehydic - it's everything I want in a perfume and it wasn't even expensive. (£18 in TK Maxx last year)

ChiswickFlo · 06/06/2022 13:37

Ooooh my LJR set arrived!
Some absolute belters in there :)
Thanks @MissBattleaxe 😊
I've ordered myself some sandalwood sacre (ds1 smelt the sample and loves it...phew!!) It's divine ✨️ 😍
Cuir de ruisse is lovely and I'm not a leather fan usually
Citron boboli is fizzy and delightful
Oriental Sans souci is fab but has that tricky (for me) cinnamon note
There's a beautiful rose - rose trocadero - (not my thing but Rose fans need this!)
Very nice set - recommended 👌

@ChiswickFlo I'm so glad you love Le Jardin Retrouve! I'm a huge fan, especially of the summery ones Eau des Delices and Verveine d'Ete. I'm always so happy when someone else falls in love with them too. They are the original formulas from years ago, tweaked only for compliance. Really interesting little company.

ChiswickFlo · 06/06/2022 15:22

Well I think I might order cuir de ruisse next but I'm thinking of a candle 🕯
Are they good?

I have just lost the past hour or so reading all your recommendations - such perfume wisdom, I'm in heaven!

I'm hoping you can throw some light my way. I fell into Liberty's last week on a brief trip to London and after a few squibs, am now firmly obsessed with Killian Angel's Share and Rolling in Love. Both are sublime and smell like the kind of got-her-shit-together woman that I aspire to be. They are both MEGA bucks though, and having splashed out on another Kilian fragrance for my husband's birthday, they are out of reach for the moment. Are there any glorious dupes that you'd suggest?

My other regulars are Chanel Allure, Chanel No 5 L'eau and No 5. These Kilians are the first to make me look past Chanel in a long, long time (though I do adore Clarins Eau Dynamisante for a sprite to make me feel happy).

ChiswickFlo · 06/06/2022 18:02

Check out perfume Parlour for a dupe of angels share

It's excellent

CorneliaStreet · 06/06/2022 19:14

I’m wearing the Perfume Parlour dupe of Angels’ Share right now. It’s really good.

Perfume Parlour do small 13ml sprays which are only about £5 or £6, so it’s not too much outlay if you’re just trying something. I think they do little rollerballs which are even cheaper, but I prefer sprays.

It’s a very tempting website - they have an amazing range and I always end up ordering more than I meant to!

FestivelyScent · 06/06/2022 23:41

Another one recommending perfume parlour for dupes of Killian fragrances @BreathingDeep They really are fantastic and Angel's Share is gorgeous, isn't it.

The LJR set sounds amazing @ChiswickFlo Another set to add to my ever expanding list of things to try. And the samples look to be a very generous size. 😊

I saw an ad for Midwich Cuckoos the other day and it does indeed look good.

Am exhausted after the emotions of the Jubilee weekend so have had a relaxing day reading.

SOTD is Samsara.

FestivelyScent · 06/06/2022 23:43

Ooh yes, I meant to agree; the pp website is so tempting, I have to deliberately make an effort not to browse in order to reign in the spending.

starlingdarling · 07/06/2022 00:19

I've only just spotted this thread so I'm not sure if it's been mentioned before. There's a monthly perfume testers set on Escentual for £19.95. Each month they have a different note to highlight. This month it's vetiver. It's been really interesting learning what different notes smell like as a novice. https://www.escentual.com/escentualscents/?emaillinkktag=25&utmsource=Products+Newsletter&utmmcampaign=91e8cc4716-ContentEmaill0506620226pm&utmmmedium=email&utmterm=00794eba3316-91e8cc4716-133320260&mccid=91e8cc4716&mcc_eid=28cde5d0cb

CorneliaStreet · 07/06/2022 06:39

Hi @starlingdarling, I spotted that Escentual blind box recently. It was patchouli last month which I’m not that keen on and I’m all spent out on perfume this month (famous last words), but looking forward to seeing what note they go with next month.

Rubbish night’s sleep, took me ages to get to sleep and then the cat woke me up at 5.45 by purring in my ear and tickling me with his whiskers. Luckily working from home today.

ChiswickFlo · 07/06/2022 07:21

I might try my LJR sample of oriental Sans souci today

OP posts:
Mrcpy · 07/06/2022 11:23

SOTD is Calvin Klein Euphoria - a simple, sweet one to lift my spirits today!

DramaAlpaca · 07/06/2022 11:53

I've been fragrance free for the last couple of days, which isn't like me.

Today I'm wearing Miss Dior Originale.

Antares444 · 07/06/2022 14:26

So glad I found this thread, I'm always looking for new, amazing perfumes! Right now I'm wearing Love in White by Creed (I got a sample). I wear Acqua di Gioia to the office, sometimes Light Blue by D&G or Ocean di Gioia.

Antares444 · 07/06/2022 14:32

One question for the experts: is Mojave Ghost by Byredo a safe blind buy?

ChiswickFlo · 07/06/2022 16:06

Hmmm...
I've not had much luck with blind buys for myself lately (I do better for others!)
I'm not sure if any byredo perfume is super strong 🤔 but I know there are one or two fans on here so I'll let them answer you 😉
You could always get a sample first if not sure?
Bloody weather is glorious here today but will be blowing a hoolie tomorrow for dhs bday 😡

I really enjoyed the December gourmand box because that's my thing. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the rose themed box in February. It's been interesting blind smelling without the labels and packaging. I'm the sort who can be tempted by safe brands and skeptics of cheaper or unknown perfumes.

CorneliaStreet · 07/06/2022 19:32

SOTD was EL Desert Eden. SOTE is Armani Si. I think I might have over-sprayed a bit. I’ve been wearing the Next dupe more often recently and forgot the real stuff is a bit stronger, so now wafting around in a perfume cloud 😆

cloud1183 · 07/06/2022 20:10

It lasted a long time on me but I do know many people say Byredo’s generally don’t last long

I like Mojave Ghost but it reminds me of a more well put together and expensive version of Daisy by Marc Jacobs

FestivelyScent · 08/06/2022 00:00

SOTD is also Miss Dior Originale. 😊

ChiswickFlo · 08/06/2022 08:26

Its dhs big bday today 🤪
Just having a small family gathering later
He's going away with his bf later this month for the weekend as a belated celebration
So...off to get cake, balloons etc (I'd usually make the cakes but I'm just too exhausted atm. Dr phoning me on 23rd re: sleep! 😬😡)
Sotd avon timeless ✨️
