Hi everyone hope you are doing well. The perfume adventure continues, I was coming back to the UK yesterday and bought a big bottle of givenchy l'interdit at duty free and omg I'm in love. My late grandfather was half Italian, very vain (at one point in the 1980s he had 40 pairs of shoes) and he smelled divine, of a woody soapy smell very reminiscent of l'interdit. This perfume will remind me of the good times when I was little (he used to wear soft jumpers and was a good hugger).

Lovely story:)

I apologise if this has been discussed already, but has anyone tried Another 13 by Le Labo? I'm thinking of buying it smell unseen. 🙂

Have you smelt Juliette has a Gun 'Not a Perfume'? I think if you like that, you'll like another 13. No promises like Grin

GeneParmesanPrivateEye · 02/06/2022 15:48

SOTD - Byredo De Los Santos. Again. So maybe I DO want to wandering smelling like this!

FestivelyScent · 02/06/2022 16:33

It's sunny here too! ☀️

I am a royalist (monarchist?) and generally supportive and a big fan of the monarchy (esp the Queen!), but can well understand that they are not for everyone. 🙂

Not doing anything big here for the jubilee (though we do have bunting!), mum is doing a nice roast and will make a cake, but otherwise will watch the coverage on the TV. You do miss a bit of the atmosphere, but the view is second to none (we'll one person maybe has a better view 👑).

Your grandfather sounds amazing @RedlobsterJones 😊

If we should be wearing perfume from British houses then my SOTD of Dancing with Strangers is a perfect fit with the theme.👌😉😊

Whatever you are doing, have a great Bank Holiday weekend everyone. 😊

RedlobsterJones · 02/06/2022 17:05

Thanks guys :) tbh he wasn't completely lovely but he was charming and very stylish in his mainland European way (he even had his own man bag lol) and of course, smelt lovely! I was completely taken aback yesterday when I tested L'interdit and found that it smelt almost exactly like whatever he used to wear. It was a moving moment! Lovely to remember the good times as I said upthread. Isn't it amazing how scent and music can take us back in time? Xx

Another 13 smells deliciously of paper. But again, given my perspective in the Diorella debate, take that ''deliciously' as entirely subjective!

SOTD is EL Knowing, which arrived this am - thank you perfumistas who recommended it, it's gorgeous.

@RedlobsterJonesI love the story about your grandfather, and I love L'Interdit too.

@Cantonet I've just taken delivery of a bottle of Theo Fennell along with a few Le Labo samples. Will report back.

SOTD Elie Saab Le Parfum.

DramaAlpaca · 02/06/2022 22:40

So I'm wearing Theo Fennell... who knew skanky could be good! I didn't get much at first until it started to warm up, then the cumin started coming through followed by rosy florals. A couple of hours in and it's spicy, creamy and warm. I wouldn't wear it often, but it's an interesting experience.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 02/06/2022 23:00

SOTD Heeley Sel Marin.

We’re not even off today, I think Scotland is far less into the jubilee thing. I was in M&S at lunch and it felt a bit Brexit-y with all the Union Jacks. I hope people celebrating have a nice weekend.

PestorPeston · 02/06/2022 23:16

Oh goodness I've set off a Theo Fennell revival.

SOTD is 4160's Freeway. After the warm tarmac phase there is a warm orange aroma that lingers longer than most citrus.

Mrcpy · 03/06/2022 08:18

Yesterday I went to Selfridges for the first time, got a little excited and bought a bottle of Chanel Gardenia. I tried Beige and Coromandel too but Gardenia blew my mind. I love love love it. Does anyone else feel the same way? I’m so scared to use it up because it was £££ but it really makes me so happy.

DramaAlpaca · 03/06/2022 12:36

Enjoy it @Mrcpy ! I haven't tried Gardenia, but today I'm wearing No 19 EDP which DH got me for my birthday and it's glorious. There's nothing like a gorgeous perfume that makes you happy Smile

That’s lovely news @ChiswickFlo.

SOTE is Kayali Vanilla. I got a sample after hearing about it here from you. It really is lovely, isn’t it? DD has just said I smell lovely. Might have to get some of this.

My sample of Kayali Vanilla arrived today, also bought thanks to this thread. Not tried yet.

Lovely news about your friend @ChiswickFlo

CorneliaStreet · 03/06/2022 19:45

Argh, just ordered a 10ml of the Kayali Vanilla plus the matching hand cream. It was 20% off on Cult Beauty, so a good deal, but I really must stop buying perfume!

SOTD remember me by Jovoy, I smell like I've spilt chai latte down me.

DramaAlpaca · 03/06/2022 21:06

I meant to say, the drydown of Theo Fennell was absolutely stunning and worth the wait.
