How did I survive without Vinted in my life!?

Very late to the game, but it's bloody wonderful - a Baukjen top for £4, a pure silk Whistles dress for £35, an Esprit top for £1.50, all in excellent condition. Just fantastic!

Got an as-new Boden velvet coat for £24. As new Sketchers for £22. It's bloody wonderful!

I felt conned that I'd ever bothered buying baby clothes brand new after discovering vinted.

I buy and sell loads on vinted and have had some great bargains but equally some truly awful items that are only fit for the bin. It’s frustrating as a buyer that when you receive something like this you are expected to pay for it to be returned when it’s not your fault. Only last week I ordered a cashmere scarf and it arrived riddled with moth eggs and larvae 🤢. Luckily the seller did refund me in that occasion. Also a lot of people seem to use vinted as a way to get rid of their dirty laundry and I’ve received loads of things with deodorant marks and stains.

Hello Vinted gurus! I put up an old watch of mine that I found when decluttering. Its a really nice watch and my ex 20 years ago gave me it so didn't want to use it. I popped it on Vinted for £40 as good condition, no battery or paperwork. Someone bought it for £35 and I shipped it but now they're asking if the battery was taken out etc as they've had problems before when the watch was damaged and they lost out on their money! Therefore they aren't going to mark it as received until they've had a new battery in it. Is it just me or am I actually in the wrong as I was honest in the description it needed a new battery and also it is a branded watch and I've said I haven't used it in 20 years 🤔

Tell them to open it up in Ireland. No vinted here. Shame.

@TruffleNoir I've had eBay side with a buyer before for sending with batteries in and not working on arrival. It's part of royal mail/ couriers banned products I believe, and should be removed

TruffleNoir · 11/04/2022 15:25

@anon2022anon ah really thanks for that. Wish I hadn't bothered listing it now 😬

anon2022anon · 11/04/2022 15:35

If it doesn't work they will have to send it back to get a refund anyway, so try not to worry 😊

Recent convert here. In a way, for buyers, it's weaknesses are it's strengths ie text descriptions and categories are limited, so you may be able to find bargains that others have missed; you can't get email alerts of items matching your search terms so you can search by recently listed and grad a bargain. I enjoy playing around with search terms to find quality eg alpaca, sterling silver, balls of wool, Italian silk. There's some lovely jewellery if you winkle it out - I got a really good quality string of real amber beads for £20. I haven't come across a dishonest seller yet, but have experienced a couple of disorganised ones - all sorted out in the end in good faith.
