I agree, the cream outfit and hat are really smart! The pale green coat and hat outfit are great too.

I wonder if the Cambridges and Princess Anne ever talk about the very different styles of royal tour. Can you imagine the impact if they had travelled like that on their recent tour?

paradyning · 13/04/2022 19:21

Some pretty here with Queen M

GrouchyKiwi · 13/04/2022 19:23

I would binge watch a neverending series with royals talking about their jewellery collections.

Eaumyword · 13/04/2022 20:33

I really admire Anne for her no nonsense approach and also for her smart eye to the optics of perceived value for money by the general public.

Maireas · 13/04/2022 20:35

@GrouchyKiwi

I would binge watch a neverending series with royals talking about their jewellery collections.

Oh, me too. That would just be brilliant.

I think you're right, Eaumyword, and Charles should look to his sister when thinking about modernising the monarchy and cutting costs.

KillingMeDeftly · 13/04/2022 20:44

Yes but our threads would move very slowly if Kate was as frugal as Anne!

Maireas · 13/04/2022 20:45

Good point!! 😂😂😂

True! Keep up the Bond girl glamour, Kate!Grin

Speaking of jewellery, Sothebys is hosting a display of tiaras as part of their platinum jubilee festival…

“Also on display will be a panoply of 50 tiaras lent by aristocratic houses of UK and European provenance, charting the history of the stately jewellery from the late 18th century when it was introduced to courtly fashion by Napoleon Bonaparte and Empress Josephine. It includes an impressive diamond tiara from the 1880s, with ornate scrollwork and foliate detailing, and an exquisite turquoise cabochon and diamond tiara by Van Cleef & Arpels from the 1960s.”

LadyEloise1 · 14/04/2022 09:01

I think Chris Levin's Lightness of Being portrait of the Queen which will be on show is brilliant.

Maireas · 14/04/2022 09:10

Now that sounds like a fantastic exhibition.
Let's all go in our green coats.

KillingMeDeftly · 14/04/2022 09:37

I actually do have a green coat - the same one as Kate's, only hers is pink. I wore it first though!

QueryA · 14/04/2022 10:08

That Rosebery tiara is beautiful!

The Rosebery tiara is lovely. On loan from "a British noble family".

This popped up on my Instagram feed last night, it's a necklace. I'm very tempted but I don't like to feel things round my neck so might have to pass. Pity though, it would have been a nice Easter present.

That'll do me. It'll go well with the Kokoshnik tiara I'm wearing on Sunday.

Martha Louise has had a photoshoot with a Norwegian magazine. Can’t pull up the photos but there’s a few interesting frocks

Charles and Camilla are at the Windsor Maundy Thursday service. I like the shape of Camilla's coat and love the blue colour (chosen to match the flowers?) but not so keen on the white panels, I think they are too white/contasting, a pale grey or cream I think would have been better.

AdaColeman · 14/04/2022 14:20

I'm not keen on those white panels of Camilla's coat either!

They are to give the optical illusion that she is much narrower than she really is, so white is used to draw the eye. But they remind me of tricks my dressmaker Mother would do when she was short of fabric!
I think the white reveres on a plain blue coat would have been more chic.
I like her hat and two toned shoes, and of course her gorgeous pearls! Oh how I covet those pearls!! Easter Wink Easter Wink

Maireas · 14/04/2022 15:53

I agree with you about Camilla's coat, I'm not keen on the panels, but I like that blue, and the hat is lovely.

Maxima's been out and about a fair bit lately. She's really feeling the maroon colour-blocked look right now isn't she?

I rather like the maroon on the left, not sure about the red and maroon combo centre.

Eaumyword · 14/04/2022 18:00

Snap - really like the left pic!

KillingMeDeftly · 14/04/2022 18:50

I do love Max's cape. She seems to rewear a fair bit as there's loads of her ensembles that I've seen several times - the leather skirts, the cape, and of course the Pringle hat!
