Lip fillers - help!

I’m considering lip filler but nothing too drastic just a small amount

What should I be looking for and how much is it

I’m out of my depth

Just... don't

superram · 26/03/2022 04:31

I have thin lips and I’d love to get them done but I’ve yet to see any that look natural, even my beautician who does it says you can always tell.

HeArInGhandsgirl11 · 26/03/2022 08:05

I have had them, always go to someone medically trained- nurse or doctor. Never go to a random beauty salon. I would expect to pay around £300 in my area anything less and I would be questioning the product or the person delivering it. My first time I only had half ml put in.

Good luck

NowWhatUsernameShallIHave · 26/03/2022 11:11

@theyoungishman Thank you but the question wasn’t about asking for opinions on whether I should get it or not

Here’s a helpful bit of advice since we’re going in that direction
Unless asked for, keep your opinion to yourself

Would you say it to the face of a stranger- no, so don’t hide behind a screen and say it
Too many judgemental and nosey people

If you’re determined to do it, pay the extra for an experienced cosmetic doctor or nurse practitioner who only does cosmetic work. Steer clear of dentists who do it on the side or ‘aesthetic’ beauty clinics.

Ask for the smallest amount possible. Less is definitely more with lip filler.

To be honest, I’d only consider it if your lips are very very thin. Otherwise, even with a skilled practitioner, you can get that ‘shelf’ effect on the top lip which looks obvious. I see it everywhere on young women and I don’t understand it?!

Rina66 · 26/03/2022 11:45

Kat Farmer did an Instagram live recently (within the last week) with her cosmetic practitioner, Dr Ellie Sateei - she talked about how she felt that a small amount in lips in older ladies made a huge difference, Kat said she thought it was the best treatment she'd had - and she's had Botox, tear trough fillers and cheek fillers. I can't find the live now though to link it, which is odd, as they're normally all saved.

Gonnagetgoing · 26/03/2022 11:46

It almost always looks fake. Gemma Collins prime example!

Gonnagetgoing · 26/03/2022 11:47

@NowWhatUsernameShallIHave if you want to look like you have duck lips go ahead!

Plenty of lip plumping glosses out there.

Rina66 · 26/03/2022 12:21

Found it!

Well I actually would say it to somebody’s face so yes lip fillers always look obvious and detract from somebody’s natural good looks.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/03/2022 13:43

Have a look for a local dr led clinic. Just go for a tiny amount and see how it goes.

Scottishflower65 · 26/03/2022 14:10

0.5 ml does me perfectly. It restores rather than plumps.

Candlecassie · 26/03/2022 14:19

I had a Botox and fillers consultation today. Lots to think about. I am not getting my lips done but I have been following this lady on her Facebook page for about 18 months. I’ve researched loads to make sure I am as informed as I can be when I get to the point of saying yes.

The lady I might use will only treat if you are looking to enhance what you have. Anymore than that and you are at the wrong place.

ScheisseMinelli · 26/03/2022 14:21

I do the same as @Scottishflower65 and it looks great and nobody knows but me (even keep it from DH -just make sure I get it done a weekend he's away to give the initial swelling chance to go down). I would hate to have the Love Island lips but just .5ml slightly plumps and nothing more

Scottishflower65 · 26/03/2022 14:31

@ScheisseMinelli
My husband doesn’t even notice on the day I get it done! It really is just restoring to previous decade lips, nothing pouty at all, no shelf.
Dr Q in Glasgow is fab for anyone near.

ladeda02 · 26/03/2022 14:33

I researched and followed a clinic for a year before having mine.

I've built up to 3ml over 3 years this was immediately after so swelling present.

I pay £290 for 1ml and this is with fully trained qualified nurses.

I'm done now and won't have any more, only 0.5ml every 9-12 months to keep them plump, I won't go any bigger.

RampantIvy · 26/03/2022 14:39

Sorry, but that looks extremely obvious.

DinaofCloud9 · 26/03/2022 14:45

The op doesn't want obvious ladeda02 and yours are huge.

Ratatoo · 26/03/2022 15:10

The OP wants a natural look, not the same as what you have at all

NowWhatUsernameShallIHave · 26/03/2022 15:17

@Gonnagetgoing
@LaraDeSalle

I think you still didn’t understand

I did not ask for opinions on whether I should get it done

Jog on

maddy68 · 26/03/2022 15:21

I was really pleased with mine. I just wanted my lines plumping out not a trout pout. It was brilliant. Highly recommended. But be careful to say exactly what you expect as the outcome

JoyOrbison · 26/03/2022 15:22

What is it about ypur lips you want to change or enhance or are unhappy with?

MaxCrashtappen · 26/03/2022 15:32

Here's mine I had done 3 weeks ago today 0.5ml also cheek fillers I'm 50 for context

Hope this helps. I'm very pleased.

Here's mine - 1ml over two sessions, 0.5ml a time. I don't think anyone would notice them but it's evened them out and made a little less thin.

They look like they have been "done" to me. Sorry.
