This is probably the shortest we’ve ever seen it, yes? With layers around her face, too here. I like this length on her. Certainly it’s very long at the moment.

I have enjoyed following the tour this week fashion wise. I’m not a big fan of today’s dress shape but do love the teal colour.

I loved this length on her. I may need a haircut too...

I very much liked the deep green Emilia Wickstead dress Kate wore departing Jamaica. The fabric was beautiful, a perfect way to highlight the bias cut of the skirt.

The silhouette of the dress reminded me of the glamour of Dior's "The New Look" which was so sensational in late 1940s & 1950s!

KillingMeDeftly · 25/03/2022 15:45

It's a floaty mint-green dress today. And the inevitable Essex girl heels!

You can get a better look at the dress on Net-a-Porter's website.

GrouchyKiwi · 25/03/2022 16:01

I'd be a bit worried about the effect of the rain on that very floaty dress.

I like this length and style. You're spot on about the no win situation!

Zenouska Mowatt is the company's head of marketing.
It does hold a Royal Warrant, though.

What is the hate on white shoes about, its very American in origin labor Day rule that only the rich wore them after this date. Somehow it's been twisted.

viewsoftheshard · 25/03/2022 16:50

In case anyone is interested in adding to their tiara collection (aren’t we all), I just got sent this, as once bought some cuff links for my husband from them and love looking through their stock.

www.berganza.com/Antique-diamond-necklacetiara-circa-1890-.html?search_keywords=Tiara.

It’s more of a casual one, for those days when you don’t want to make too much of an effort.

Northernlurker · 25/03/2022 16:51

They are at the regatta later so presumably changing anyway.

Breton stripes ahoy? WinkGrin

They got a bad rap in the 1980's - girls would wear white stilettos, put their handbags in the middle of a dancefloor and dance. Hardly a crime against humanity when you put it like that Grin, but they were mocked by the fashion police, especially when paired with short white skirts, big belts and sometimes leg warmers.

I'll happily take that tiara off your hands, @viewsoftheshard. It's a good multitasking tiara and very practical. A snip at just £31k Grin

SeaRabbit · 25/03/2022 17:26

Oh that Berganza website!

KillingMeDeftly · 25/03/2022 17:31

Interesting piece on the origin of never wear white (in general, not just shoes!) after Labour day.

But @Eaumyword has it right about the white stilettos thing in the U.K!

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 25/03/2022 17:50

@viewsoftheshard that would be ideal for popping to the shops. Smile

gluenotsoup · 25/03/2022 18:31

Kate’s dress today is pretty and understated. I like the colour, very soft. I won’t look at the shoes.
I’m going have a good look around the Berganza site 🤫

frugalkitty · 25/03/2022 19:42

My first pair of grown up shoes were white stilettos, bought when I was a bridesmaid for my brother. Work with a peach dress with a sweetheart mescaline and good old 80s perm.

RomainingCalm · 25/03/2022 19:51

Ahoy there!

I want to look like Kate in shorts.

Royal Style : the Cambridges Go Caribbean, we go full on gemoholic
RomainingCalm · 25/03/2022 19:52

But what's with William’s shirt? Could they not find him a polo shirt or a casual short sleeved shirt?

For me this is Kate at her casual best.

LittleBearPad · 25/03/2022 19:53

I’ll need dividing in two and stretching by about 6 inches [sigh]

GrouchyKiwi · 25/03/2022 19:59

I have funny knees so shorts and I are not simpatico. Kate's shorts are nice. Wills does look weird in a shirt instead of t-shirt.

I can see what you mean but I think Will really suits a slightly unbuttoned shirt. He has a nice chest.
LittleBearPad · 25/03/2022 20:06

It looks like it’s linen. I think he looks fine and short sleeved shirts are a bit naff
