I can appreciate that Kate's outfit is appropriate for the occasion but I don't like it much I'm afraid. I think the colour is too strong for her and I don't like the lace or the neckline. The fit is spot on though.

SenecaFallsRedux · 20/03/2022 12:34

@Raspberrymeringue88

The lace and peplum is a bit mother of the bride but being Kate she looks beautiful in it. And all in one colour is dated but it has maximum impact for the photos. Separates in different colours immediately diminish the impact on film.
I'm afraid that MOB was the first thought that entered my mind when I saw the photo. But it is beautifully fitted, and she does look stunning.
pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 20/03/2022 14:50

She could have added yellow accessories - didn't she do something similar last wk/wk before? she's wearing that lovely sapphire and diamond pendant (and earrings) that would perfectly match my ring @Maireas if we're adding an "other jewellery" category - those are most certainly mine Grin

moonbedazzled · 20/03/2022 15:04

I was disappointed by it from the photo someone posted upthread. But when I looked at it in the newspaper, I thought it looks great. The colour is gorgeous and the texture of the lace lifts it from the mundane but still keeps it as daywear rather than cocktail wear. She suits that v neck too.
I love those heels but have no idea how she isn't walking like bambi on ice.
The only thing I don't like is the back split. I hate those. But overall a good start. I'm excited to see what else she wears.

Nnique · 20/03/2022 15:10

You get used to walking in shoes like that. Was quite something seeing her and Mary walking across the cobblestones at Amalienborg together!

Maireas · 20/03/2022 15:18

pussycat - that is a lovely set! I have similar, my husband bought me earrings like that for my 40th, and the pendant for my 50th (certainly a less expensive version!). I love them and wear them a lot.
You want this set? 'tis yours ✔️

Yes you do get used to walking in sky high heels as just remembering heels I used to wear to work.
Love the colour, the shape & the lace of Kate's suit but I think the skirt would have looked more modern if it had been an inch or 2 shorter.

And hello to everyone as I've been missing in action for a bit

@Maireas 😘 thank you

Living the dress Kate is wearing at the cacao plantation, Kate does those style of dresses very well.

KillingMeDeftly · 20/03/2022 16:50

The dress has a nice summery vibe and I like the bold print. And it's the Return of the Wedges too!

That's better Kate!
Hi Tracey Smile

KillingMeDeftly · 20/03/2022 16:51

And a red pedicure - I approve!

hopeishere · 20/03/2022 16:56

I love that dress! And the wedges and the pedicure!

myrtleWilson · 20/03/2022 16:57

Earrings are cute too! you can see them better on Chris Ship's twitter feed where Kate is squishing cacao into chocolate...

Maireas · 20/03/2022 16:57

I'm not a fan of tiered dresses/skirts, but I like the print. The wedges are a good choice!
Wills looks like he's wearing a linen shirt, the blue is a bit conservative, but fine. (he's never going to go left field like Uncle Edward...Wink)

@frugalkitty how's Hottie still in the airing cupboard? 😂

Nnique · 20/03/2022 17:02

Oh I like a tiered dress! And the wedges are great too - perfect for outfit and occasion, as is the little clutch. And a red pedicure!😍😍 Happy.

RomainingCalm · 20/03/2022 17:10

Much better... my faith in the Royal wardrobe is restored! Smile

Love that dress and the print. According to my app it's 29' and 72% humidity in Belize - I would be a frizzy mess by now.

KillingMeDeftly · 20/03/2022 17:17

Kate's hair isn't immune to frizz - I remember it being a bit Monica from Friends when they did the Pacific tour several years ago. But maybe she got a quick Brazilian before leaving for this trip.

A Brazilian blow dry that is - minds out of the gutter! Grin

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 20/03/2022 17:18

Nnique · 20/03/2022 17:22

I actually liked that photo of her with the very curly hair (can’t remember where she was visiting at the time). Thought she looked fab.

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 20/03/2022 17:23

Maireas thank you, they will be kept in my vault if only Grin
I like the dress. She looks amazing considering how flippin' hot it is there I melt at anything over 20

KillingMeDeftly · 20/03/2022 17:25

I think it was this occasion. Although William's hair is more noticeable here - mainly because he has some!
