Can you recommend me your bar soap?

Since converting to bar soaps, I have tried quite a few but my favourite is definitely the Nesti Dante Fig and almond. I wanted to like some of the others as they sounded so nice and tried the coconut one and the mandarin ones but really wasn’t keen on the smell!

I’d quite like a smaller sized one for travelling (I know I could just cut it up) as the Nesti Dante ones are quite big and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for smaller soaps that smell fab?!

French Savon de Marseille soaps are great and come in lots of different scents. eBay is a good place to get them outside of France.

Friendly Soap Company are great

Also TK Maxx usually have some small french soaps in a tin for travelling. The tins are very cute.

Waitrose camomile is wonderful . Knocks spots off Nesti Dante

I love the olive Palmolive. It doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin and leaves it moisturised.

I like the Nesti Dante Romantica Tuscan Wisteria and Lilac.

Second this. They tend to come in smaller bars too, so good for travelling (as per OP's request).

Faith in Nature soaps are lovely and a neat size

luckylavender · 06/03/2022 15:17

Definitely French Savon de Marseille or the Edinburgh soap company.

Fairislefandango · 06/03/2022 15:40

I've tried the Savon de Marseille ones but I still prefer Nesti Dante, especially the less floral--smelling bars, like the Cypress one. I've read multiple rave reviews on here about the Waitrose camomile and would like to try it, but unfortunately there is no Waitrose in my area!

Nesti Dante Black!

bellac11 · 06/03/2022 16:57

Camay, green palmolive and white imperial leather

I didn't like those Nesti soaps...too big.

Why not support British women? Buy on Etsy. I bought these last year...lovely

Savon de Marseille.Never use anything else.

Skinnytailedsquirrel · 06/03/2022 17:07

I loved these too...Saponista - although I see she is taking a break at the moment. Gorgeous soaps and so moisturising.

Darklane · 06/03/2022 17:08

L’Occitane do small ones in lots of flavours.
Or good old Dove

Keiki · 06/03/2022 17:11

I buy my bars from craft fairs and farm shops. Lots of variety and you can sniff test them first. They are often smaller, and support small businesses. Personally I love goats milk soaps, they are so lovely on my skin.

mizu · 06/03/2022 17:21

I love soap bars and often peruse Home Sense for them but Waitrose camomile ( and they used to do a citrus one but that seems to have been discontinued) are great value. £1.40 I think for 4 bars.

The French ones someone mentioned unthread smell amazing and are beautiful.

I like the smell of Dove, but it's not proper soap. It's basically made of solid moisturiser.

Imperial leather, used it for years, Also pears soap, and wrights coal tar soap. i used to buy some glycerene soap bars from sainsburys years ago, use to have the lemon fragrant ones, and think it was apple scented ones too. I have never ever bought shower gells at all, all plastic bottles, with stuff in, that doesnt wash you properly.

VerityPJohnson · 06/03/2022 19:06

Second L'occitane. They also do a tin to keep it in whilst travelling

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 06/03/2022 19:13

Pears soap, the blue or green versions are fabulous.
