Is this too ‘look at me’ for a wedding?

Apart from the evening style, which I can overlook, is the gold too dressy for a small town afternoon wedding?

So gorgeous and absolutely fine for a wedding.

But the cost!

dudsville · 06/03/2022 09:31

That's a really beautiful dress! The first pic doesn't do it justice. As you say, the video really shows it off. I don't think it's too spotlight grabbing as it somehow managed to be sparkly in a low key way.

Londondreams1 · 06/03/2022 09:32

@DisforDarkChocolate I’d definitely be approaching look at me territory if I swished about like the model!

@Imissmoominmama I never thought of that but so true, that the bride would feel like you honored the occasion by making a special effort

Not at all

Londondreams1 · 06/03/2022 09:34

@BalloonSlayer yes black... and a spring wedding too.

Gorgeous dress, perfect for any wedding I have been to.

ikeepseeingit · 06/03/2022 09:35

I love it! It’s not too much and I don’t think that amount of black will look somber with the gold, they balance each other very well.

Ruinedwalks · 06/03/2022 09:36

Is it see-through? Just wondering why it looks like she’s got some joggers on underneath it.

justsippingsometea · 06/03/2022 09:36

Beautiful dress, I'd wear it out for dinner as well to be honest! Maybe not Pizza Express - but a date night for sure!

Price irrelevant if you can afford it!

MichelleScarn · 06/03/2022 09:39

It's nice but I don't think it's a 'look at me' dress either!

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 06/03/2022 09:39

It’s lovely. And they’re a good company too (good quality). Enjoy it!

thisplaceisweird · 06/03/2022 09:41

As pp said, price is relative. If that's what you can spend on a dress without worrying, don't let that affect you. Bash is a lovely brand and I'm certain the dress has a lovely flattering cut that isn't easily replicated on the high street.

I think it's pretty wearable. I would definitely wear to a wedding with strappy high heeled shoes, and then after to evenings out e.g. dinners /shows/parties with heeled boots.

MichelleScarn · 06/03/2022 09:42

Kyle Jenner on the other hand at JB wedding... maybe a little 'look at me'! Grin

wingscrow · 06/03/2022 09:45

Lovely dress but:

  • I would not pay that price for it
  • it is a bit dark for a wedding.

Ha ha that’s the sort of gold dress I thought I’d be looking at! OP’s is lovely.
Threeboysandadog · 06/03/2022 09:48

£425 Shock are you the bride!

Derrymum123 · 06/03/2022 09:50

Beautiful dress. If it is within your budget go for it.

FlibbertyGibbitt · 06/03/2022 09:51

It’s nice but £425 😱😱😱

Londondreams1 · 06/03/2022 09:53

@MichelleScarn haha now THAT is look at me

Thanks for the replies. Most think its fine. But there are a few little considerations , although I’m thinking the overall loveliness of it is swaying it for me

dirtyjoan · 06/03/2022 09:54

It's a nice dress but I don't think it's 400 quid nice.

Those boots look horrible with it though, such weird styling.

TottersBlankly · 06/03/2022 09:55

Gorgeous dress. I’d be pleased if you wore it to my wedding.

And I’ve just seen another on the website that I need for the Summer.

WomblingWilma · 06/03/2022 09:57

I’d definitely want a ‘look at me’ dress if I was paying £425!

Way too dark for a wedding and nothing particularly special about it IMO.

KindlyKanga · 06/03/2022 09:57

Haha first pic I was like.. this is an every day wearable dress. It was only when I saw the video I saw what you meant! I love it and the darkness of it is a good compliment to the gold.

Swebby · 06/03/2022 09:59

Beautiful dress but I would be saving it for autumn/winter evening parties, doesn’t seem a good fit for your description of the event (Spring small town afternoon wedding).

Londondreams1 · 06/03/2022 09:59

I’m reconsidering it for the wedding now due to it being black (but trying to think of another good excuse to get it)
