Mine is now:
Much more casual - previously very dressy

No bras anymore, just bra-tops - underwired bras before

Comfy shoes and trainers - previously mostly heels

Less patterns, more block colours

I feel like I've lost my dressing mojo 😪

Between lock downs, serious health problems, money getting tight and putting on over 2 stone - it's been disastrous for my style.
Just don't know who that woman in the mirror is, and I was never particularly s and b but used to scrub up nice when the occasion warranted it. No more

1Week · 26/02/2022 22:47

In joggers and dh's jumper quite often now

Milomonster · 26/02/2022 23:25

I’ve been seeking out more unique designers and less high street crap. I dress up more since restrictions were lifted.

bonfireheart · 26/02/2022 23:26

I wenr to a music event yesterday that someone had invited me to, almost turn down the invite cos I really can't be doing with dressing up anymore!! DD was very shocked to see me in heels :)

JaceLancs · 26/02/2022 23:36

Only change has been my weight not style and hoping to get that back to normal by dieting
I wear dresses more as feel more comfortable and less constricted than in trousers or even jeans

Shuffleuplove · 26/02/2022 23:36

I tried heels on the other day and I walk like a bloke who has wet his pants. I put them back in the cupboard. Heels are over.

Between dropping the 5.30 am starts and 3hr round trip commutes I feel I've found my style again for the first time in 25 years. I love my new wardrobe and getting dressed and wearing my clothes is a pleasure!

DifficultBloodyWoman · 27/02/2022 02:18

Hmmm, I really don’t think I have a style now. Or, indeed, have any style now.

But I’m working on that which is why I am on this board. 😜

What have you bought? 😀
Norma27 · 27/02/2022 04:56

I started work in a great job in September after 8 yrs of being a sahm and a career for my elderly mum. I seem to have found my mojo again since starting work. I treated myself to a new wardrobe from eBay mainly Hobbs, jaeger, Reiss and white stuff, and started wearing my hair down and a bit of make-up. I keep being told how glamorous I look. I’m definitely not glamorous- I just wasn’t making any effort before mainly because I couldn’t afford to. but I do feel much better knowing I am making an effort again and taking more pride in my appearance. If I hadn’t got this new job I would not have afforded the new clothes though.

FredAstairesChair · 27/02/2022 05:57

I quit a horrible job last year, and no longer have to wear uniform. Working from home permanently now, and terrified of gas prices, my 'uniform' is leggings, two pairs of socks, slippers, several layers and an 'oodie'.

I am more glamourous when I go out anywhere socially, I make more effort. Probably because of the above!

Also decided to stop dying my hair at home and go to a hairdresser, which has had mixed results. Usually good, but at the moment they've not done it how I wanted and it looks horrible :(

SalsaLove · 27/02/2022 06:02

Well, I’ve finally embraced leggings. And long line t-shirts. I top off my ensemble with socks and moccasins. If I have to go out I’ll put on a pair of trainers.

Luckingfovely · 27/02/2022 06:37

Oh OP my list is almost exactly the same as yours!

Used to be much dressier, now I live in yoga leggings, yoga bra, sweatshirts and trainers.

Wear my glasses instead of contacts most days now, never left the house without contacts before.

My hair has grown about a foot, so is now long and wild and curly as opposed to a sleek, sharp bob. Can't remember the last time I used my straighteners!

If I'm actually going out out, I'll be in skinny jeans with trainers and a 'nice' jumper, make up, etc, but overall, I feel I'm less focused on my appearance than I was before.

The days of dresses and heels have definitely gone for me.

Galvantula · 27/02/2022 06:57

Nothing really, I don't think my style, such as it is, has changed in 30 years 😅

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 27/02/2022 07:14

I’ve gone back to leggings, tunics and boyfriend cardigans. Not dressed like it since my children started school and I went back to work which was 20 years ago. I don’t leave the house like it though.

Thinkle · 27/02/2022 07:24

6 pairs of dungarees
No regrets

hellcatspangle · 27/02/2022 07:33

Well I didn't have much before, but what I did have has gone.

I have a much bigger variety of pyjamas, and absolutely no decent "going out" clothes. Any I had from before don't fit me because I've gained weight and I don't have much clue what to buy.

BusterGonad · 27/02/2022 08:14

I've gained a stone, moved to my 3rd country to live, it's been cold so I'm obsessively buying knitwear which I haven't done in 3 years due to living on South East Asia. I'm loving my knitwear.

Leftbutcameback · 27/02/2022 08:22

A bit more masculine - flat shoes / boots, round neck jumpers, trousers. I guess it’s because I wfh now, tend to go for a 30 min walk at lunchtime, and need to stay warm atm! I sometimes think I like the style, and sometimes I miss looking more dressed up. It’s been going this way for a while since I moved from a job with more opportunities to socialise. I’ve also put on half a stone and 2 inches on my waist to need to disguise it Blush

hopeishere · 27/02/2022 08:31

Not necessarily my style but we got dog it's changed my relationship with washing my hair!!

All of my "workwear" is in bag in the attic.

Silverparting · 27/02/2022 08:39

A total overhaul.

I'm late 40s and grew out my grey and am almost completely silver. I love it!

As part of my 'rebellion' I have now stopped dressing conventionally to adhere to society or others at work and returned to my love of vintage 60s and 70s clothes.

It was the silver that revived my lost passion for clothes and image. It was lockdown that has given me the space to experiment with silver.
And it was catching Covid and having long Covid that gave me the impetus to flick the vs up at dressing a certain way and return to my roots (in all senses).

KindlyKanga · 27/02/2022 08:58

Completely lost it. Don't care.

Have however have tried out some interesting hairstyles in the name of supporting my local salon

Floisme · 27/02/2022 09:24

I hardly ever wear make up now which is great as it leaves me more time for the really important matters of the day, like deciding what to wear.

RedRobin100 · 27/02/2022 09:27

It has been very detrimental

I had a baby and now work solely from home.

Two years later still in old maternity leggings and ive forgotten how to put on make up.
Really need a make over but hard to muster the enthusiasm when I don’t really go anywhere anymore!

Also due with baby 2 very soon - maybe I’ll
Have more reason to get dressed on this non-lockdown mat leave! 😭

Spudlet · 27/02/2022 09:28

I buy almost all my clothes secondhand now, for the cost but also for the planet. So that’s one change. The other is that underwired padded bras no longer feature - bralette crop tops all the way for me.
