Mine is now:
Much more casual - previously very dressy

No bras anymore, just bra-tops - underwired bras before

Comfy shoes and trainers - previously mostly heels

Less patterns, more block colours

I feel like I've lost my dressing mojo 😪

I’m not wearing proper bras anymore and it has to be a VERY special occasion to get me in heels. Also wear leggings and gym stuff as day wear, far more than I did before.

In lockdown I finally lost the weight I’d been half-heartedly trying to for 5 years, so there’s loads of stuff I could get down from the loft that hasn’t fitted for a while but would now. I might actually bother doing it this week

Wiennetta · 27/02/2022 13:21

I don’t think I’ve massively changed!

I feel healthier than before lockdown - more sleep (less early starts without commuting) and more time to exercise.

Before lockdown I was already in a fairly dressed-down office and hadn’t worn heels for ages for work or for going out - I’m in London which is fairly casual and most places I go out are quite relaxed.

WingBingo · 27/02/2022 13:48

One thing I have noticed, is that pre-pandemic, I’d get home from work and immediately change into slobby attire.

What I wear whilst working from home is so comfortable that I don’t get changed anymore until PJs right before bed.

Happy36 · 27/02/2022 17:20

I have been working more or less as usual through the pandemic (leaving the house and going into work every day, even if occasionally I can leave work a bit early and do meetings on Zoom from home). So work clothes haven't changed.

I had almost given up on heels before the pandemic and have now totally given up. I tried to wear some the other day and saw my life before me as soon as I stepped foot on the cobbled courtyard in the building where I live so went back inside and changed to flats!

lindyloo57 · 27/02/2022 17:21

No more heels, just a small block heel ancle boot,
Not wearing wired bras so much, really like m & s light support strappy cotton tops
I do put make-up on everyday, it makes me feel better.

MrsBerthaRochester · 27/02/2022 17:52

Before I wouldnt leave the house without hair and makeup and always wore dresses and heels .
Now I will wear just tinted moisturiser, mascara and lipstick and have started wearing midi dresses with boots or trainers.
I have put on a stone during lockdown and it does bother me but not enough to make a real effort to sort it. At home I live in pjs or joggers and a hoody. I cant see myself ever getting back to normal.

I really don't understand the bra hatred. If you've got the right size they aren't the least bit uncomfortable. I'm a DD cup so never go without but TBH I never really have any desire to.

My office has now gone to a smart casual dress code if we don't have client meetings, which I'm delighted with.

Im a FF cup 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'll be keeping mine as well
Fairislefandango · 27/02/2022 18:32

Only my bras have changed. I too thought that as long as you have the right size, underwired is as comfortable as non-wired. It turns out that... nope!

Otherwise nothing has changed about what I wear. Smart casual for work as ever. Mostly jeans and t-shirts/jumpers at home as ever. Craghopper Kiwi Pros for dog walking. I only wear leggings/tracksuit bottoms if I'm doing something sporty.

liveforsummer · 27/02/2022 20:49

My footwear has changed, sports trainers and chunky boots. I don't think I'll ever wear a pair of heels again. I used to buy fitted clothing (tops) but now I like everything thing oversized and slouchy. I guess all of that in a way could be attributed to fashion but I don't think I'll move on from it when the trend does. Still only like skinny style leg wear but mostly leggings now and less skinny jeans. Grown too used to the comfort plus it's practical for both jobs

CheesePlantMurderer · 27/02/2022 20:50

I bought lounge wear. Never before had I

AnnaDelvorkina · 27/02/2022 21:12

I cut my hair from nipple length to chin length as soon as hairdressers reopened after the first confinement period. Have since experimented with all lengths between chin and just below collarbone and think just above shoulder is my (current) favourite. Love having shorter hair (it had been below shoulder length since early childhood).

AnnaDelvorkina · 27/02/2022 21:13

Based on this thread, would be interesting to see how shoe sales have changed (e.g. fall in sale of stilettos and increase in more comfortable styles).

Iamthewombat · 27/02/2022 21:40

I am so, so bored of wearing jeans and sweaters to WFH.

I look at my lovely smart work jackets and dresses and heels and feel sorry for them!

Unless it is raining or snowing I wear a proper tailored wool coat outside. I don’t wear gym gear outside the gym. Standards.

I think that glamour and dressing up will return.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 27/02/2022 22:03

I’ve been wearing “proper clothes” throughout, but not “work clothes”. I was never especially smart/formal for work anyway (definitely no heels!) but now am in jeans and a jumper. Our house is cold so chunky knits have been my most bought item of clothing - really looking forward to the weather warning up a bit. I’ve carried on my normal makeup - always red lipstick.

It was important to me at the start of lockdown to “stay me”, when everything was whirling out of control it felt like something I could keep on top of.

sabusays · 27/02/2022 22:08

Covid has made me so much more casual too… I’ve been trying to keep it chic with oversized knits paired with smart joggers but the days of heels seem like a distant memory now

sabusays · 27/02/2022 22:09

@CheesePlantMurderer… where are you GSI go your loungewear from? X

sabusays · 27/02/2022 22:10

Getting* your loungewear from?

Leftbutcameback · 27/02/2022 22:12

I asked my OH now about how he thought my style had changed. He didn't really know what I was asking but then told me I looked too casual when we went for dinner last night. Looking back I agree, I've just lost my style a bit.

Appleseesaw · 27/02/2022 22:56

Lockdown coincided with things going west after the birth of my child. I never was exactly stylish, but I think I used to look reasonably put together. Now I wear jeans and T-shirts all the time. I’ve seriously neglected myself and it’s an uphill battle to sort myself out.

Iamthewombat · 27/02/2022 22:59

I’ve forgotten how to put outfits together, too. Something I used to be really good at!

I went to a restaurant last Friday and had to really think hard about what to wear that wasn’t flipping jeans, lace up boots and a sweater. I am planning to practise getting dressed over the next few weeks. I’m sure that I’ve got really nice stuff that I have forgotten about through lack of use!

coodawoodashooda · 27/02/2022 23:01

No make up

Pinchofnom · 27/02/2022 23:10

Now that I work from home 75% of the time I wear a lot more athleisure

When in the office - lots of people have ditched heels and are far more casual but because of my role I’m always dressy (dress and heels with a blazer). I feel fantastic in my workwear.

I haven’t really modified my occasionwear.

De88 · 27/02/2022 23:18

My clothes have got baggier and baggier... I've gained about half a stone as I've lost the everyday walking and just cannot seem to find the time to fit it in.

Scarby9 · 27/02/2022 23:24

I cut my hair myself and much prefer it to the style I had previously.
