Comfortable white trainers?

Please help me find some that are actually comfortable and look good! This seems like it should be such an easy ask, trainers are the most comfortable shoes to become fashionable in my life but somehow I'm still struggling. To give context, the only shoes that I have ever found truly comfortable are Birkenstocks. I have really awkward feet!

I have tried so many and found them too narrow at the toes or agonising at the back - I had a pair that shredded my heels so badly the blood soaked the whole back of the shoe and stained them.

The best I have are a pair of canvas sneakers from Toast but I'd really like a leather pair for easier cleaning. Also the soles don't give great support for longer walks.

My holy grail is half sizes (6.5) white leather trainers with a wide rounded toe and backs that don't rub the skin away (ouch!) - do they exist?

@cliffdiver

My Nike AF1s are probably the comfiest trainers I've owned.
Me too! I take a uk size 4, so get the kids ones.... Unlike some shoes/trainers, I have never had blisters. Just so comfortable

I’m a trainer addict. I love my Veja’s, Air and Grace and ultimate comfort (but not style I’m afraid) are my Nike air max. I’ve got a really nice white leather pair from Boden too. I find converse comfortable to walk in, but no real support so feel it afterwards xx

BusterGonad · 19/02/2022 08:08

New Balance. Super comfortable.

ILoveMyMonkey · 19/02/2022 08:11

If Birkenstocks are your most comfortable go to shoe then why not buy their trainers? www.birkenstock.com/gb/bend-natural-leather/bendlow-smoothleather-naturalleather-0-rubber-u_2.html

I have feet that blister in most new shoes. I love Stan Smiths and Nike Air Max though…neither have caused me to blister. Converse have never suited my feet and Adidas super sleek were bloody awful.

Can anyone tell me do Nike Air force 1's come up short size or more roomy?

TokyoSushi · 19/02/2022 08:20

Also, I have my eye on Veja Campo trainers, they look beautiful, also terrible?

Very true to size.
aintnospringchicken · 19/02/2022 08:32

Last year I think I tried on every pair of white trainers available in my city and struggled to find a pair to fit my narrow size 6.5 feet.I also have very narrow heels so a lot of the time my heels would slip up and down no matter how tight I tied the laces.I ended up with a pair white leather converse.I still needed to use an insole ,but they're so comfortable.

HeyMicky · 19/02/2022 08:33

I have wide feet and quite a straight ankle so shoes always rub there. I wear Adidas and they're excellent, really comfy.

evilharpy · 19/02/2022 08:56

I have wide feet. Two I've found really comfortable have been these:

Kurt Geiger Laney (mine have a leopard bit at the heel)

These from Puma which are obviously not as fashionable as AF1s but I really like them

Reluctantadult · 19/02/2022 08:59

Oo @evilharpy thanks for the puma link, I love that they're recycled!! How do they come up length wise please?

AchillesPoirot · 19/02/2022 09:04

I have sketchers arch wide fit white leather trainers and they’re super comfy. Maybe not fashionable though.

Well I usually wear a 7/40 and these are true to size, if that helps? I have plenty of room in them.
TrexDrip · 19/02/2022 09:21

Stan Smith Adidas - everytime ! i have tried others but these are the comfy ones for me so I now have three pairs in different colours

MenaiMna · 19/02/2022 09:46

With wide flat feet, plantar fascitis, need orthotics: I have three pairs of leather fitflop rally. They are super cushioned. I actually machine wash on delicate/low spin all my fitflops. A bit of dubbin to resoften if necessary.

These are incredible. The softest leather imaginable

AmbushedByCake1 · 19/02/2022 10:05

Superga are fabulous, so comfortable and look great too. Their sole is much more cushioned than converse.

HanSB · 19/02/2022 10:07

Fitflop Rally, they are super comfortable. The sporty look ones are less dumpy looking than the regular version. Have just spent a week walking over 30,000 steps a day in a brand new, not worn in pair and no rubbing!

They are roomy. I’m a 5.5 but usually have to wear a 6. My AF1s are a 5 which meant I could also buy the kids version so saving ££. There’s still plenty of room in them and I agree - comfiest trainer I own. Found converse really uncomfy, never tried vans but I do love TOMS
cheeseybeans19 · 19/02/2022 10:34

Another vote for AF1’s, comfiest trainers I’ve ever worn. I have wide feet but still went down half a size as they are roomy

doubleshotcappuccino · 19/02/2022 15:29

Stan Smiths ! Perfect for dresses and trousers .. so so comfortable

doubleshotcappuccino · 19/02/2022 15:30

Also eyeing Veja's closely but have to save and wait x

Rina66 · 19/02/2022 15:34

I've got the fit flop Rally plain white leather and a few pairs of Mint Velvet Daniella - both are really comfortable.

lindyloo57 · 19/02/2022 16:11

I own a pair of skechers slip on style, I still can't wear them without a sock, cause they give me blisters on the back of my heels, I only brought this brand as lots of people said they are the most comfortable ones to buy. So I wouldn't buy a pair of skechers again.
