I've seen a lovely fluffy dressing gown I like in Sainsbury's.

Not usually keen on dressing gowns they always come undone and flap about, do I need to give them another try.

@Mo1911 I couldn't have put it better myself! The floofier, the better - and a size or two up so there's even more to wrap around.. #bliss

I love dressing gowns. I have a dressing gown wardrobe.

I have five, including amazing thick cotton ones from the White Company. Amazing

I have several and couple of weeks ago bought another, a Seasalt pottering gown in the sale to add to them. I love them.

Funny thread. I was in M&S today and there was a foreign woman and her grow up daughter and the older woman was trying on dressing gowns on the shop floor and giggling with happiness about them. It cheered me up to see how happy an M&S dressing gown was making her!

(My dressing gown is a white waffle cotton one from the White Company and I feel a bit meh about it and tend to put my GAP gilet on over my clothes instead.

I have a practical well worn Cyberjammies dressing gown its like a cotton modal very light (but I am menopausal and cooling on the skin I wear it year round.

I would love a floaty luxurious dressing gown similar to those from One Hundred Stars but I am 6ft tall and a size 20-22 so doubt they would fit me.

MissFritton65 · 20/02/2022 22:42

@KalaniM have you looked at British Boxers?

StarCourt · 21/02/2022 03:14

Cyber jammies only go up to a size 16

Wordlewobble · 21/02/2022 11:02

@StarCourt no Cyberjammies the go up to a 22. I have this one but a slightly different colour in a 22 and this one is available in a 22. It is extremely really lightweight but fab if you are menopausal.

StarCourt · 21/02/2022 11:18

@Wordlewobble thanks I didn't look at them all so shall look again. And yes menopausal

Easterbunnyiswindowshopping · 21/02/2022 11:20

My dgm always called it a house coat

Although I love the idea, I find that I totally overheat when wearing mine (think it's my age) it's a fluffy fleecy one. I have a kimono type one that I wear when it's very warm in the summer or on holidays but I'd love something for winter that isn't fleecy and I don't like towelling robes. Can anyone link to a more lightweight one please? I'd love cashmere but that's definitely out of my budget.

StarCourt · 21/02/2022 11:35

@Wordlewobble I've just had a look and seen the material they use is Modal. Is that breathable/absorbent enough?

Wordlewobble · 21/02/2022 13:08

StarCourt - I find it fine (lovely light and cool fabric). As well as overheating I also have fairly sensitive dry itchy skin (another joy of menopause and under active thyroid in my experience).

It certainly isn’t a warm dressing gown (but I like that about it) as I feel better cooler than hotter. I wear it year round but I think it would probably be too cool for most people to wear it year round.

BadPlaceJanet · 23/02/2022 12:06

I'm a bit of a dressing gown fan too. I've got this one for the less cold mornings coming up - as I also love hoodies, it's perfect.
