A manicurist told me that if I ate jello everyday, my hair skin and nails would be radiant. I did for a while… and it worked! My destroyed nails looked like claws and I had lots of baby hair!
My grandma was drinking everyday leek stock ( literally boiled leeks water) and had a stunning complexion well past 90.
What are yours?

@BattenbergdowntheHatches

2 litres of water a day and a Berocca.

10 hours sleep a night.

10 hours????? How?! What's your sleeping hack? I wake up after 7hours no matter what.
TmFid · 27/02/2022 21:56
@Tmu100 do you apply it after the moisturiser or you mix it with the moisturiser? Thank you
You let your moisturiser sink in. Give it a minute and then add a small amount of vaseline all over your entire face and neck.

Sillyotter · 27/02/2022 22:04

Regular lash lifts and tints from a good beautician

buckeejit · 27/02/2022 22:36

Aldi caviar cream is a great moisturiser. Isle of paradise tanning drops that you add to moisturiser are fab

nyorks1503 · 27/02/2022 22:40

@JMAngel1 are you charged any import fees on your UP orders?

MMBaranova · 27/02/2022 23:02

Hair, skin and nails.

Enough water.

Genetics. The main thing I thank my (difficult but not dead mother-daughter relationship) mother for.

Not turning on the bathroom mirror light in the morning, just the main light. It makes for a less self-critical start to the day.

InsideTheNet · 27/02/2022 23:04

Not a tip, rather an observation:
For most of my adult life I've had a fringe in some shape or form. I'm now 62 and I don't have a single line or wrinkle on my forehead.

(Maybe we've all gained, as yet, unseen benefits after wearing face masks for the last two years).

Skincare - tretinoin, niacinamide, vitamin c, SPF 30 - 50 and lactic acid

Devices - Myolift microcurrent, red light & NIR light panel plus a radio frequency device

TheDaydreamBelievers · 27/02/2022 23:16

Coconut oil to take off makeup
Long hair plaited with a soft scrunchie to sleep to avoid tangles and breaking
Vaseline over moisturiser on dry spots, on eyelashes and brows (coconut oil will also work for those)

@JMAngel1

Tretinoin buffered with Cerave - how did I not use Cerave before now? It is unbelievable stuff - I was barely able to tolerate tretinoin once a week before (buffered with Weleda Skin Food so no moisturising slouch) but using it with Cerave, I'm up to every night within the space of a month - miraculous! Skin feels thicker, firmer and more lifted. Just the 0.025% for now but who knows!
cerave body cream and lotion are amazing
stevalnamechanger · 27/02/2022 23:54

@Jojowils

Where do you buy your tretinoin. Are you in the UK Thanks 😊

Genetics plenty of sleep.

Goats milk soap

No-one has mentioned HRT

DoorWasAJar · 28/02/2022 00:16

Chamomile tea for skin cleansing is great, can’t remember if I also used green tea for the same. Warm olive oil for a few minutes followed by rubbing a lemon slice into nails and cuticles to strengthen them. Vicks for ridding of acne/demodex skin mites (everyone has them apparently, and they live in our pores and never poop until they die and explode and cause acne. But they do crawl out of pores to mate, at night, in the dark)

DoorWasAJar · 28/02/2022 00:19

Ovestin cream is antiaging.

Glycerin soap without scent or colour is the best for sensitive or eczema skin, better than Sanex shower gel. Waitrose did a great one ‘pure’ but it looks like it’s discontinued ☹️

DoorWasAJar · 28/02/2022 00:20

Neutrogena pink grapefruit moisturiser for oily skin is great. Neutrogena glycerin hand cream. Aveeno moisturisers.

DoorWasAJar · 28/02/2022 00:23

Nip & Fab glycolic fix pads (extreme)

Magnesium supplementation can get rid of BO. I noticed by accident when I put magnesium cream on my armpits, it stopped them from smelling bad.

Infrared Sauna Tent. This cuts all mortality causes by half, if used x 4 per week.

‘Mortality causes’?
TabithaTittlemouse · 28/02/2022 10:08

@DoorWasAJar I really don’t understand!

SparrowLand · 28/02/2022 11:18

In what way please? Because it improves blood circulation? What difference do you see?

Exercise definitely for me because it boosts my mood and energy. Helps me get a better nights sleep, helped my chronic illness (although appreciate not for everyone), and toned my body. I also developed a glow that I noticed after around three months of regular exercise.

My nan used to eat jelly. But the taw stuff before you add water to it. I guess it's the gelatin in it so any fatty ingredient may work?
SparrowLand · 28/02/2022 11:24

My personal favourites are tretinoin- I thought I had good skin before this! Drink 3l of water every day, exercise, 10k steps a day and a plant based diet. Going plant based was the best thing I could have done for my skin and my digestive system personally.

Biotin 12,000mcg tablets for my hair and nails, brushing with a bamboo hair brush and I would never go back to using anything but Olaplex for my hair. That stuff changed my life!

Prettybubblesintheair · 28/02/2022 11:24

These definitely aren’t secret but I have dry acne prone skin and have always struggled between breakouts where I blast my skin with drying products mistaking the cause of the breakouts for oily skin but actually it’s dry skin that makes me breakout! So I’ve found using a facial oil after my night skin routine has helped me sooo much! Also a good skincare routine so my am routine is
Cleanse with naturally radiant hot cloth or pineapple face scrub
Vitamin c serum
Hyaluronic acid serum
Naturally radiant serum
Azealic acid (prescription)
Naturally radiant moisturiser with spf

Pm routine
Remove make up with vit c micellar water
Retinol 0.5 (let sink in for 20 minutes)
Hyaluronic acid
Niamicide (can’t spell it!) +zinc serum
Azealic acid (prescription)
Retinol eye cream
Vitamin e night cream
Either rose oil or bio oil

My skin is the best it’s been in a long time! Also Superdrug do a pre shampoo elasticising treatment with is lovely.

I’m very fair so I’m looking into having my eyebrows tinted this week, I’ve heard that makes a huge difference.

Googlecanthelpme · 28/02/2022 11:32

Niacinamide mixed with hyaluronic acid over my face a few mornings a week or as a targeted treatment for emerging spots! It’s very very good for blemishes and reducing pours / cleaning the debris away.

Alternated with Paula’s choice BHA on other mornings.

Some times I have a break and only use one or the other, really depends on what I feel I need.

And no secret at all but retinol on the night.

I’m actually starting to believe that you only need 3 skin care products

Moisturiser
Retinol
SPF

(Obvs still make up remover etc but for literal skin care)

Googlecanthelpme · 28/02/2022 11:34

Re the jelly, is it collagen in the gelatine then?

Bc a lot of collagen is bovine based isn’t it?

Confused
