A manicurist told me that if I ate jello everyday, my hair skin and nails would be radiant. I did for a while… and it worked! My destroyed nails looked like claws and I had lots of baby hair!
My grandma was drinking everyday leek stock ( literally boiled leeks water) and had a stunning complexion well past 90.
What are yours?

@doadeer Absolutely right, lots of water, lots of orgasms.

Jojowils · 15/02/2022 09:08

Where do you buy your tretinoin. Are you in the UK
Thanks 😊

Gwenhwyfar · 15/02/2022 17:01

@Toanewstart23

No secret

Work out
Regular hair masks
Regular face masks
Really good and regular hair cuts and highlights
A professional to do my brows
Regular manicures and pedicures

In my forties
And I look (and feel) good

Of these only the hair cut and colour works for me. Hair and face masks don't tend to do anything and I don't think manicured hands look better than just putting natural looking nail varnish off. I like my brows natural (well natural-ish, I plucked a bit when I was younger and they more or less stay that shape now, don't like 'big' eyebrows.

"But my secret is facial tanning oil. I'm so pale I look grey in winter unless I use tanning oil once a week."

Me too.

Me too.

What is the specific product you use? Can one of you link it?

I am at the extreme end of pale, having been mistaken by a consultant for an albino once, so this might help.

Toanewstart23 · 15/02/2022 18:59

@Gwenhwyfar

You need to go high end
I use Sisley black rose oil mask
Game changer

Hair mask…. Elasticiser and Sisley nourishing balm

Toanewstart23 · 15/02/2022 19:02

* I don't think manicured hands look better than just putting natural looking nail varnish off.*
I thought this too
Then 4 years ago I found my nail technician.
I actually get comments on how lovely my hands are!
Shellac occasionally - very dark in winter, corally in summer

Toanewstart23 · 15/02/2022 19:06

Oh and 111 masks
£12 per use but worth it

Juniper68 · 15/02/2022 19:21

Genetics for me tbh.

I didn't moisturise for years but when I started I had a much more even skin tone.

Does anyone know of a skin tint that doesn't smell like a camel's arse?

Gwenhwyfar · 15/02/2022 21:34

ouch - it's the drops from M&S that you add to your own moisturiser.

AUTOGRAPH Self Tan Glow Booster Serum 15ml

Seems not available on their website atm.

The Sisley is over 100E where I live. Not gonna happen.

womaninatightspot · 15/02/2022 21:42

@Fluffycloudland77

Jelly’s very low in protein and very high in sugar which destroys collagen and elastin.
I've known quite a few guitarists who eat one of those cubes you make jelly out of everyday to strenghen nails.

There's also an aldi version available instore now it's 4.99 so I'm giving it a go.
MsMeNz · 15/02/2022 21:44

Eyeliner tattooed on.

Dry shampoo for volumising oil prone fine hair.

Got a side sweeping fringe, I don't know why I didn't do it 20 years ago, softens my larger forehead and brings attention to my eyes and hides forehead lines.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/02/2022 21:44

Oh I'm not telling that to dh, he plays guitar. I dont want to encourage him to play more guitar and for longer!.

I do wonder if the british diet is so low in protein for some people any extra is taken and used. It's not impossible to live on carbs now.

Cereal for breakfast.
cheese sandwich and crisps for lunch
breaded stuff and chips for dinner.

It's not bursting with proper protein is it?.

Toanewstart23 · 16/02/2022 06:34

Well explains your stance on face masks. Yes the cheapo ones are crap

Toanewstart23 · 16/02/2022 06:36

Tan luxe drops are superb

OvertheRainbow2U · 16/02/2022 07:09

yes JMangel2105 - tell us! :)

catfunk · 16/02/2022 07:11

Exercise exercise exercise

Gwenhwyfar · 16/02/2022 17:10

@catfunk

Exercise exercise exercise
In what way please? Because it improves blood circulation? What difference do you see?
JMAngel1 · 16/02/2022 17:26

I get my tretinoin from United Pharmacies. Takes a week or so to come and there’s a strange payment bank transfer system but all good. I couldn’t get on with Dermatica or Skin and Me as they always want to add something else into the mix like niacinamide which breaks me out. I know I only want plain tret 0.025% but those other companies don’t like you to tell them what you want.
Plus UP is waaaaay cheaper.

LadyEloise1 · 16/02/2022 17:51

@IMONTHETOILET
At your suggestion I popped in to Boots and bought the Soap and Glory Heel Genius.
I hate the scent but if it works i'll be happy.

Tmu100 · 27/02/2022 20:56

Slugging! I’ve been slugging, which is basically adding a small pea sized amount of Vaseline to face and neck after washing and moisturising, since I was 15. I’m now almost 50 and don’t have a single wrinkle and I’m regularly told that I look like I’m in my mid 30’s. It works especially well, if you have dry skin, as I do and it literally seals in moisture, ensuring amazingly soft skin.

Billandben444 · 27/02/2022 21:10

Not sure if this is a beauty tip as such, but... eat pineapple to neutralize the odour of your hoo-hah
and don't eat asparagus...

amarante · 27/02/2022 21:11

@Tmu100 do you apply it after the moisturiser or you mix it with the moisturiser? Thank you
