A manicurist told me that if I ate jello everyday, my hair skin and nails would be radiant. I did for a while… and it worked! My destroyed nails looked like claws and I had lots of baby hair!
My grandma was drinking everyday leek stock ( literally boiled leeks water) and had a stunning complexion well past 90.
What are yours?

BeanyBops · 08/02/2022 14:56

Paula's choice bha solution, but really anything by Paula's choice is incredible. I've never had this experience with skincare before!

Only go out when it's dark. If you have to go out in daylight wear a hat and mask.

Works for me. A bit of eyeliner and I'm done.

IMONTHETOILET · 08/02/2022 17:37

Soap & Glory's Heel Genius foot cream as hand cream. It is the best hand cream I have ever used. No other product has remotely improved my dry cuticles and instantly heel genius softened them instantly.

@Louisianagumbo
Can you post a link to the vitamins? Thanks in advance.

JMAngel1 · 08/02/2022 19:14

@hellololabells2019
It's just the moisturising cream - can use it on face and body. Got a huge tub now for £15 on Amazon. Not the SA one just Cerave Moisturising Cream.

A580Hojas · 08/02/2022 19:19

It's hardly a secret but I just want to say a word for Nivea soft moisturiser. I've never found a moisturiser that feels nicer on my face, it has this amazing "cold" feel and is very soothing. I put a bit of sun screen over the top.

Also, can't recommend Nesti Dante bath soap enough. Do away with bath products in plastic bottles forever and use this lovely soap and just have a small piece of paper to throw away at the end of it.

Not sure if this is a beauty tip as such, but... eat pineapple to neutralize the odour of your hoo-hah.

Milomonster · 08/02/2022 21:49

Nothing makes my skin glow like regular hot yoga.
At least two liters of water a day.
Plenty of sleep

I do use very few products but I’m not convinced they’d do much without the above. I do think Nip and Fab glycolic pads are ace though. They make a viable difference.

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 08/02/2022 21:56

My grandmother told me about the jelly too. I do find that when I go through periods of eating lots of SUGAR FREE jelly (I use both packets, but only one portion of water) my hair and nails are better. BUT it's the gelatine in the jelly that's making my nails stronger.

You need to be careful because a lot of the jelly is now vegan and doesn't use actual gelatine anymore.

M0rT · 08/02/2022 22:02

If you make bone broth from chicken/beef bones there will be gelatin in it. Could use it for a soup base and avoid sugar. Very good for your stomach.
I also use Vaseline to take eye makeup off and it's great.

@Takenoprisoner
I'm not very good at linking so I hope this works. They're with all the other vitamins on the medicine aisle.

@EraOfTheGrey

I use vaseline to remove my eye makeup and have done since I started wearing makeup in my teens. My eyelashes were thick and so very long and since I've stopped wearing makeup everyday they've gone back to a mere mortal height. Coincidence or youthful advantage?
I was told by the lady who threads my eyebrows to use Vaseline to help them grow thicker ( I wanted thicker brows BTW) so probably some truth to it
5128gap · 08/02/2022 22:12

Olive oil. Every night under my night cream and wake with skin like velvet. Tiny amount under day moisturiser for dewy look. Use to remove make up On hair before washing. Instead of shaving foam on legs. On irritated or dry skin. On foods of course. And, while I shouldn't, I do like a bit of sun for vitamin D and a glow so I use it instead of suncream for short periods of exposure. I'm getting on a bit though so it might be too oily for younger skin and hair. DD uses coconut oil for most of the above, which is dryer.

How much jelly would have to be consumed daily for it to take effect?
Rocaille · 08/02/2022 22:16

Rice water works for silky, shiny hair. It's supposedly good for skin too, but I've not tried that Just don't leave it to ferment for too long as it stinks.

pheonixrebirth · 08/02/2022 22:16

Always moisture day and night. It doesn't have to be an expensive moisturiser just what ever you can afford.
I'm 41 and have drank and smoked to excess being brutally honest since I was 17. I still get asked for ID, even to the point of being denied buying a bottle of wine a couple of months ago- I was with my 15 year old daughter at the time??

PurpleDaisies · 08/02/2022 22:16

Superdrug naturally radiant skin care range. Cheap as anything and absolutely brilliant.

After sun as moisturiser.

Rockdown2020 · 08/02/2022 22:39

Coconut oil to remove make up and retinol (The Ordinary works well) every few days.

Green smoothies. A big one every day, mainly veg with a bit of fruit, mint and ginger to take the edge off the grass clippings taste. They take a bit of getting used to but they’re a great way to get 5 portions of veg a day and loads of water before you’ve even started and they make my skin glow. Also force DH to drink one because they help with his IBS-y stomach

Skinnymimi · 08/02/2022 23:44

Oh my gosh thank you ladies!
