Molke bras - what a revelation

I had a recent thread on here for comfy supportive bras for big boobs and was recommended Molke. I’ve resisted for a long time as I think they look a bit frumpy / shapeless and not a huge fan of the wacky prints, but finally tried one on the recommendations here.

Fuck me it’s amazing. I hadn’t realised how much my boobs move in bras before (I’ve been properly measured and have a million bras) but this is so soft and supportive, I can’t tell I am wearing a bra or even feel that I have boobs if that makes sense. They’re not sexy or give an amazing shape but brill for general wear around the house / dog walks etc.

Would really recommend to try them if you’ve been put off before!

I tried one but sent it back, it was difficult to get on and then I thought I was going to need to be cut out of it. I found it uncomfortable, the crossover bit seemed to be in the wrong place and cut in and whilst it might have been the wrong size the fact I nearly didn't get it back off put me off trying another.

@Whatiswrongwithmyknee

Do they actually give any support for larger breasts? The website pictures don't look like they do.
I'm a H cup and yes they do. They're the most supportive non wired bra I've ever tried, the only one I'd wear out of the house! Would echo the pps who said they were hard to get off. The fabric is firm and not very stretchy, which you need to get the support, but this adds the issues with getting them off. Ive never tried pulling them down, that might work!

I tried the flexi bra too - a new shape they do. It's ok but I'm not 100% happy with the size guide. Mine was too big in the back and too small in the cup. Also all the ruching and seams make it very visible under clothes. I'm in Ireland so I'd have to pay for returns, so I just kept it, it's all right.

The lift is too high

We have found Schrödinger's bra - simultaneously no support and too much Grin

Showing that everyone is different...😆

I think the look fugly on the website because of the obsession with using morbidly obese models with enormous norks which would probably make any bras look ugly (sorry if I offend anyone there). Looking on the website the black version which is modelled by a normal looking woman actually looks nice and just as attractive as any other bralet on the market.
I don’t want to see stick thin 6ft models, and I don’t want to see morbidly obese models either. I just want to see normal sized people

Porridgeislife · 29/01/2022 13:50

@Sunshinedreaming2022 I completely agree.

For some reason no one uses 5’4” - 5’6” size 12/14/16 models in their 30s and 40s which surely must constitute the majority of their customer base . Instead they’re either 6’ glamazons or very, very obese ladies. With the odd extremely attractive grey slim
haired lady in her late 50s for diversity.

UnicornsReal · 29/01/2022 14:21

I agree too. Who wants to look like the models?

MaybeHeIsMyCat · 29/01/2022 14:52

@UnicornsReal

I agree too. Who wants to look like the models?
The thing is If they use "normal" type models - customers "we don't look like them and it's aspirational" If they use the models they are doing - customers "we don't look like them either and we don't want to look like them"

When in reality if you actually look at the models on each page, there is a range of sizes and styles from smaller to larger

MaybeHeIsMyCat · 29/01/2022 14:54

These all look like pretty average women

Well, I have found my go to bra. It's the Anya bra from the John Lewis ANYDAY range. Most comfortable thing I have ever worn.

IlonaRN · 01/02/2022 19:21

@NothingTraLaLa

The Nova bra by Bravissimo is a similar sort of affair but has a proper back fastening and looks slightly more delicate. I find it gives me a good shape.

I had heard good things about Molke but the pictures on the website put me off.

I was also going to recommend the Nova bra by Bravissimo. Great shape and very comfy for me (30F), ans easy to get on/off due to the normal fastening.
Jennifer11 · 02/02/2022 22:09

I've recently bought an M&S Flexifit non wired bra F+ cup (and I know people hate Marks bras). Plain black, soft and supportive - if not hugely sexy! Was reading this post to see if Molke is another option but sounds a bit grim!

BlackMagicWimpund · 03/02/2022 00:11

Well their website unashamedly uses the word “women” [gasp] so they get my vote!

Shame their models include women with penises though. Most women aren't really expecting or consenting to see a semi while bra shopping.
Chimchar · 03/02/2022 07:02

I'm a massive fan of Molke. They're not faultless, but they're the best in terms of comfort that I've ever worn.

I'm a 30KK. Wired bras have literally cut through the skin on my shoulders, have given me sores on the sides where the wires are pressing on my ribs. They undoubtedly give me a better shape, but at the cost of massive discomfort.

The 3 rated fabric molkes are firm and hold their shape. I tried a 2 fabric and within an hour or so, it was looking a bit saggy. They look tiny when they arrive, but once you've got it on and scooped your boobs in, they're great.

They wash well and I tumble dry them too..

CoverYourselfInChocolateGlory · 03/02/2022 07:37

I love my Cosabella bralette. They are not cheap but they do large sizes (I'm a 36G) and are super pretty and comfortable.

coldwaterswimmer · 03/02/2022 09:09

I've seen Molke recommended loads of times in breastfeeding groups but can never bring myself to try them. Really not a fan of the patterns - they surely limit what you can wear on top as they would show through light coloured clothes. Even the light pink one has a dark outline. Shame.

I remember ages ago they posted something on social media about people asking for more grown up designs and they brought out a black/purple lace design in response to that. But then they seemed to forget about it again and it was all dinosaurs and unicorns from then on. I have some crop top style bras from Sainsbury's that are a neutral colour and so comfy! Having said all that, I am a little tempted by the turtles...

Slitheryn · 27/12/2022 08:00

I Knooooow. Great ethics,lovely a small buisness…. But they are horrible! Horrible! Hideous shapes, and monstrous, monstrous prints! Whyyyyyyy?

Notonyournellykelly · 27/12/2022 08:03

This thread is nearly a year old.

Slitheryn · 27/12/2022 09:50

I dress for me, and me only! But good lord on toast, this is another level of fugly😩

Those prints make me want weep and gnash my teeth….and dear Jesus Mary and Joseph, those terrible shapes, the super wide straps and neon colours…why? Why is this necessary?
Im despairing of ever finding a attractive bra that accomodates my freakishly tiny rib cage and big nugs. Best so far is M & S sleep bra. Not perfect but best Ive found.l

midgetastic · 27/12/2022 09:54

Because sone of us love the patterns and colours? Please save me from lace , save me from boring

They do plain white and blue and black usually as well if you are that way inclined

The shape you get is fantastic for me

The wide straps are fantastic as they stay in place and never dig in or slide off

It sounds like you want a comfortable supportive bra that is designed like all uncomfortable bras are - logic fail

DillDanding · 27/12/2022 10:02

Wow. They are fugly. Do they have to look that hideous?

midgetastic · 27/12/2022 10:06

Yes

Because otherwise there would be nothing for people who think they look great and hate the look of conventional bras

We are all different you know

Pyri · 27/12/2022 10:07

Yes they’re fugly. Yes the unicorn and dinosaur prints are awful.

But my god they’re comfortable!
