Molke bras - what a revelation

I had a recent thread on here for comfy supportive bras for big boobs and was recommended Molke. I’ve resisted for a long time as I think they look a bit frumpy / shapeless and not a huge fan of the wacky prints, but finally tried one on the recommendations here.

Fuck me it’s amazing. I hadn’t realised how much my boobs move in bras before (I’ve been properly measured and have a million bras) but this is so soft and supportive, I can’t tell I am wearing a bra or even feel that I have boobs if that makes sense. They’re not sexy or give an amazing shape but brill for general wear around the house / dog walks etc.

Would really recommend to try them if you’ve been put off before!

@Snoozeee

Are they padded?
No.
KatharinaRosalie · 28/01/2022 10:30

@ArseInTheCoOpWindow

I thought the boobs are meant to be separate with the gore in the middle.

They just look like bikini tops that give you sweaty cleavages. I hate it when my boobs rub together.

that's why I can't wear crop tops, but molke bras have this clever crossover part that sits between boobs and separates them.

@Whatiswrongwithmyknee

Do they actually give any support for larger breasts? The website pictures don't look like they do.
I have no idea why they choose so many women on the website who look like they have no support, it’s quite odd and really put me off.

I was surprised at how supportive they are. I wouldn’t go for a run in one but for every day lounge wear they’re good.

Wow those are some really ugly and unflattering brassieres. I can't imagine any clothes that you wear out in public looking good over them. They give a squished, unsupported monoboob shape.

And the patterns 🤢.

astorsback

I'd say they're more the Popsy of the bra world than Toast!

Thanks Pyri. I am so fed up of being skewered by my underwire, I am always on the look out for new bras. Currently wearing M&S flexifit, no wire, on the recommendation of my daughter. I may well try one of these too. I'm too old to worry what they look like - I just want them to be comfortable.

Craftycorvid · 28/01/2022 10:39

To those wondering about running in them: I’n a double F cup size and find Molke bras brilliant for running. Absolutely nothing moves that shouldn’t.

Agree that the ‘whacky’ patterns can be trying. Would be lovely if they’d do the lace pattern in a pale pink or a nude colourway. Maybe get in touch and tell them that?

JammyDevil · 28/01/2022 10:46

I have to say I find the models on their site and Snag a bit off putting. I'm very overweight and don't like seeing the 6ft skeletal models but a lot of these women are incredibly, dangerously overweight. The bras don't look supportive on them at all. I have a molke one and it is moderately supportive (better than it looks on some of the women) but if I looked at those women and thought I might look like them in the bras and undies it would put me off buying them.

I don't understand why there's no middle ground with these things. skeletal isn't the norm but neither are a lot of these women. I think to me models need to be aspirational in some way so someone who's a bit overweight, like a lot of people I know, looking good would be great but the models they have chosen look like the makers of the bras have just pulled in a bunch of their most overweight, wobbly, ungroomed mates from the pub and stuck bras and knickers on them. I can easily already look like that so why would I want to buy their product?!

MaybeHeIsMyCat · 28/01/2022 10:47

@Whatiswrongwithmyknee enough for me and I'm a 34K - but I only wear it at home really
Pics added

For me, sometimes I want to be in my comfy clothes at home but not have wires and that's where it comes in useful. Was also brilliant for MRI scans, and being in hospital. Comfy enough to sleep in but enough support to be up and about in

I absolutely agree and was thinking about starting a thread about it here.

Models these days seem to be either:

  • very tall and slim, classic model, usually white or light skinned black
  • very overweight, usually black women
  • tall and slim with “an obvious flaw” like red hair, freckles or skin pattern condition such as Winnie Harlow

Obviously, red hair and freckles are beautiful so it drives me bananas that fashion tries to be edgy by including them in the flawed section. It’s also very irritating that overweight women tend to be black, and that there is almost no representation in the size 12 section and very few east Asian or Indian women, especially dark skinned Indian women.

It all feels a bit “token inclusionary” to me

@MaybeHeIsMyCat. It feels all kinds of wrong to be commenting on a strangers underwear but those photos look about 100% better than the ones on the website!

RedRec · 28/01/2022 10:53

Love the idea of a bra comfier than any other but just looked them up and they are truly, hideously ugly.

GrinGrin I know what you mean! I did buy it mainly out of curiosity and also for comfort pottering about the house
My wired bras are comfortable but I fancied a change and it has come in handy

This is another site that does wireless for DD plus sizes

I really like my molke, but they are pricey. Super comfy and I can't wait for my boobs to settle enough currently establishing breastfeeding my new 5 week old, to wear it again, I might even buy more if they work as BF bras for me!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 28/01/2022 11:03

I have a Molke and I quite like it but I have a lot of sheer tops that I wear over a vest top and I can't wear a Molke with that style because the shoulder straps are too wide. I have shoulder mobility problems so I put it on and take it off by stepping into it and pulling it up/down.

I tried the new one that they have, flexi-size, that fastens at the back and it was dreadful. It pushed my boobs under my armpits and it was very uncomfortable.

I prefer Uniqlo if I'm using a pull-on bra, especially the ones that are built into a camisole or vest top as I can wear it under anything, but the Molke is more supportive than Uniqlo.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 28/01/2022 11:04

And I love the prints they come in, bright and cheerful!

ofwarren · 28/01/2022 11:12

You look great @maybeheismycat

I don't need clothing or underwear sites to be "inspirational". I prefer to see women that are the same size as me, so I can get am idea of what the item looks like on. I'm sure other women feel the same, so it makes sense to have women of all sizes.
Why would I only want to see the item on a slim model when I'm not slim? What is that going to tell me?

Dinoboymama · 28/01/2022 11:12

I tried lots of them thinking it was me getting it wrong with sizing and stretch as that's how they made me feel.

They would look great in the very first few minutes i wore it but within an hour they were sagging down hurting my back.

Their fan facebook group is heavily moderated so anything that isn't good for their image is deleted or turned off.

Fritilleries · 28/01/2022 13:06

Not pricey considering they manufacture and hire from the area.... would you rather get it cheap from some exploited warehouse worker?

HeadNorth · 28/01/2022 14:09

Talking about representative models, I wish they weren't always so tall. Or if they are a normal height/small they tend to overweight. I have never seen clothes modelled on a small, slim/ordinary weight woman.

JammyDevil · 28/01/2022 14:53

@ofwarren I take your point but they are still not being really representative. Most of us are neither extremely fat nor extremely thin but somewhere in between! Where are the ordinary models?!

I do agree with those commenting on the garish patterns. I love colour and pattern but most of those are just TOO much.

randomsabreuse · 28/01/2022 16:03

There's a wide variety of model sizes - and photos from happy customers.

If you can comfortably buy a bra for £15 or less from any high street store Molke are unlikely to appeal to you because they are expensive.

If, like me, the vast majority of bras available in your size cost £35 -£50 and don't fit great and are unattractive at best then Molke will be starting from an equal position.

I'm wearing Molke pretty well all the time - because the only course I've got left for a bra that might fit is spending £50 or more on a bra from one of the Polish manufacturers...

In contrast to when I'm wearing one of my few remaining underwired bras I can actually chase my child if they piss off down the road/driveway without having to put boobs back in when I stop running! Shape under clothes is also better.

I do not get on particularly well with their pants or leggings - and haven't tried their alternative bra shapes - so I don't love all the products. I have a relatively small waist and ribcage compared with the rest of me so the higher waisted pants and leggings don't stay up well in a size that works with my bum/thighs. The low rise pants are ok but I don't have a thing about matching pants in general - I'd very rarely buy a matching set with a conventional bra.

Lozzie86 · 28/01/2022 18:25

They're the best! I discovered them in 2018 and have never looked back.

The shape is perfect, I wear them under all my clothes and boobs look lovely and round. My partner loves them and he tends buy me new ones on xmas and birthdays.

I definitely couldn't run in one though, I need scaffolding to keep those things from knocking me out 😂

Down with underwires!!

QuantumHypothesis · 28/01/2022 18:29

@RelentlessForwardProgress

Good Lord! Why do they look like that? I've got high impact sports bras I use to run in that look more attractive than that. Just why?
Dear lord! I have a large bust and bras tend to look frumpy at the best of times, but these a fugly!
randomsabreuse · 28/01/2022 18:31

They're not good for "planned" running but fine for impromptu chases or soft play sessions, unlike my underwired bras...
