Why is Sue Grey wearing two scarves? Is this a thing now?

Exhibits A and B- It is an...umm...interesting look.

I am in peri menopause and feel like a latent volcano. I don't even want to wear one scarf! But the two-scarf thing? Is it a fashion memo that has passed me by? Or just the stylings of an eccentric woman?

She's good at covering up so obviously 2 scarves are the way to go ...

It's also Sue Gray, very in at the moment.

I'm assuming something bad happened to her outfit, hence no tights and double scarf to cover up whatever happened to her coat?

Some parts of my body feel the cols more than others, so I can understand then2 scarves and bare legs. I'm the other way, 2 pairs of socks, maybe an extra top, but an open neck.
