I’ve found the most remarkable hair mask!

Ginevere · 27/01/2022 07:47

My search for good hair products has been literally lifelong. I’ve only ever found a small handful of products that seem to make a notable difference to my hair, and the one that blew my mind was promptly discontinued 😩

Anyway, all that preamble is just to demonstrate that when I say remarkable, I mean it. The mask is the Bleach reincarnation mask; I saw it recommended on Reddit and since it’s sold in Boots and not expensive I took a punt. It’s AMAZING. It made my hair insanely soft and shiny, but the main reason I love it is because it added weight to my hair. I’ve got a lot of hair, but it’s quite fine, so it’s always been a bit floaty. This mask has given it real weight and bounce- it felt like I’d had a fresh haircut and I couldn’t stop swishing it.

I did sit with it in my hair for over an hour (I’d intended just using for ten mins or so but my husband joined me in the bath so we ended up sitting chatting for ages) which may have been why the results were so good; I’ll try it for less time next time and see if it’s as effective.

I just wanted to share as a good conditioner has eluded me for so long. They sell huge jars on the website for £15 (I’ve just ordered 2) but the tube is only £7 in boots so might be worth a punt!

Also, if anyone can suggest a shampoo I’d be grateful! Since I’m getting all my results from the mask I’m really looking for a treatment shampoo for growth etc. but would love recommendations.

Also I'm having a hair trial tomorrow to be a bridesmaid so would be great if this makes my hair all lovely 😂

Ginevere · 27/01/2022 17:41

Oooh do let me know how you like it! I’d be very interested in your experience as you’re the target audience it seems. Just to add I used mine on the roots as well so not just for ends.

I’m going to use it in the shower later as a normal conditioner and see if it’s as effective!

I'll try and do some before and after pics

furmumma · 27/01/2022 17:49

Also ordered two big tubs, my hair is bleached and although I do my best to keep it in good condition, it does get dry and wig like.

CaveMum · 27/01/2022 17:55

I’ve always found the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle conditioners really good and they’re so inexpensive.

This one is my current favourite: aussiehair.com/aussie-products/3-minute-miracle-treatment/aussie-sos-3-minute-miracle-deep-treatment

It’s normally £5.99 but currently £3.99 in Superdrug.

I found they weighed my fine hair down too much, which is a shame as they smell so lovely.
faustina · 27/01/2022 20:06

@Ginevere - thank you for this! I read it earlier and found the unopened tube I'd bought last year during my pandemic home-highlighting attempts.

I put it on, then the phone rang so it was on my hair for at least an hour too, and it is really really nice!

It also washed out well - I find some conditioners almost impossible to rinse off completely. I usually use elasticiser and also have olaplex (but don't like that so much). I have very damaged highlighted hair if that helps anyone.

CheeseAndHackers · 27/01/2022 20:50

Why on earth does it say to do a strand test for a hair mask?

Laiste · 27/01/2022 20:58

I use the Lee Stafford hair mask in the bright pink tub. Boots.

www.boots.com/lee-stafford-hair-growth-treatment-pink-200ml-10081217

Smells divine! If i don't use it because i'm in a rush it's noticeable.

Sadly (because i adore the smell) i don't get on with the matching shampoo and cond. They do nothing for me. For sham and cond i use Kerastase.

Youcansaythatagainandagain · 27/01/2022 21:03

@Toanewstart22

Have you ever tried Philip Kingsley elasticiser

Game changer!!!

I wasn’t impressed at all with reincarnation

I bought the PK elasticiser based on MN reviews. I never saw or felt any difference to my hair.
I will try your recommendation too OP. Something has to work
faustina · 27/01/2022 21:09

I think the strand test instruction must be from the bleaching products. I didn't do one and nothing has happened (yet)

Ginevere · 27/01/2022 21:18

@furmumma I hope you like it then!! Those big tubs are such a bargain though. I also ordered a couple of tiny 30ml ones for travel!

@CaveMum never really got on with Aussie, I’ve got oily hair and I find they make it worse!

@faustina what a win already having it in the house!

@CheeseAndHackers I have no idea! It’s a dye company so maybe just the warning on all their labels?? I just slathered it on haha

@Youcansaythatagainandagain good luck, I hope it works for you! I’ve tried so many and they’ve all failed for me until this one so fingers crossed for you!

Oh OP I used it tonight after just bleaching my roots and it hasn't made a difference 😒 my ends are still dry and frazzled. BUT I only left it on for about 20 mins. So it seems from pp and yourself that it works best if left on for a good hour. I will try it again another day and hope it makes a difference

Ginevere · 27/01/2022 22:42

@TeamSpike ah gutting! I was really hoping it would work for you! What a shame, sorry!

I've read reviews for it and its reduced in Boots at the moment so going to give it a try, it sounds amazing

RoseSays · 28/01/2022 10:09
@DukeofEarlGrey my hair isn’t coloured no, natural red. Is olaplex meant for dyed hair then? That’s worth knowing; might be why I got nothing out of it! And yes, bleach does sound like it’s for bleached hair, I avoided it for a while for the same reason. The whole website is products for coloured hair too, there’s no shampoos to match this or anything. As far as I can tell it’s just a really strong conditioner meant for people who’ve fried their hair with bleach. Honestly try it, if your hair is anything like mine its a game changer.

@Phantom1 not an ad I swear 😂 I used to have a beauty blog so I tend to wax a bit lyrical on the subject of beauty products, and in this case I am so blown away by it that I had to tell people.
Do you have a before and after pic @Ginevere ?

Ginevere · 28/01/2022 11:26

No I don’t, I wasn’t expecting much when I used it tbh! I’m going to wash my hair this afternoon when I go swimming, I’ll take an after photo when I’ve dried it then dig through my photos and see if I can find a good before pic.

@Toanewstart22

Apparently they’ve paid mega bucks for a social media “sweep”
Looks like they definitely have ;)
Toanewstart22 · 28/01/2022 11:42

I thought the same Wink

JustFrustrated · 28/01/2022 11:49

I forgot about this! Bloody loved it when I used it 12 months ago. Hated the metal tube though, so hard to squeeze out with wet hands.

Uptoongirl · 28/01/2022 12:02

@Ginevere even though I just bought a load of hair products last month, I am a sucker for a good conditioner so I've bought the Bleach reincarnation. Will wash my hair this weekend and report back!

Ginevere · 28/01/2022 12:12

@MadeinBelfast literally just tried it and wanted to share!

@JustFrustrated I do hate the tube. That’s what put me off it for ages because I assumed it did actually have bleach in it, and the metal tube was because it was too strong for plastic or something?? I’ve ordered the tub now anyway so I won’t have to use the tube much longer!

@Uptoongirl hope it works for you!

PickAndChooseMe · 28/01/2022 12:29

Urgh I always get sucked in! I’m constantly on the lookout for my holy grail hair product so went to Boots yesterday and bought the tube.

I had it on for 40 minutes today and my hair felt like straw Sad. I’m now sitting here with my hair coated in a Garnier mask to try to get back to normal.

JaneJeffer · 28/01/2022 12:49

I have bought so many hair products because of S&B so another one can't hurt. It's worth a shot as it's on offer at the moment.

babyboyHarrison · 28/01/2022 12:53

I love this too. I just use it as conditioner every wash now. I do bleach my hair so I have mixed in some shrine drop its so it becomes slightly purple so it helps keep the tone too. I use olaplex sometimes too but I really love the reincarnation mask.
