I’ve found the most remarkable hair mask!

My search for good hair products has been literally lifelong. I’ve only ever found a small handful of products that seem to make a notable difference to my hair, and the one that blew my mind was promptly discontinued 😩

Anyway, all that preamble is just to demonstrate that when I say remarkable, I mean it. The mask is the Bleach reincarnation mask; I saw it recommended on Reddit and since it’s sold in Boots and not expensive I took a punt. It’s AMAZING. It made my hair insanely soft and shiny, but the main reason I love it is because it added weight to my hair. I’ve got a lot of hair, but it’s quite fine, so it’s always been a bit floaty. This mask has given it real weight and bounce- it felt like I’d had a fresh haircut and I couldn’t stop swishing it.

I did sit with it in my hair for over an hour (I’d intended just using for ten mins or so but my husband joined me in the bath so we ended up sitting chatting for ages) which may have been why the results were so good; I’ll try it for less time next time and see if it’s as effective.

I just wanted to share as a good conditioner has eluded me for so long. They sell huge jars on the website for £15 (I’ve just ordered 2) but the tube is only £7 in boots so might be worth a punt!

Also, if anyone can suggest a shampoo I’d be grateful! Since I’m getting all my results from the mask I’m really looking for a treatment shampoo for growth etc. but would love recommendations.

Here it is after about using the mask for about 40 minutes. So shiny! And super soft and swishy. So doesn’t need to be a full hour, 40 mins did the trick!

I’ve found the most remarkable hair mask!

Wow, that's shiny!

Hoping to try mine tomorrow evening in the bath.

Uptoongirl · 01/02/2022 18:02

@Ginevere, yes I'm calling it a success!

Your hair looks lovely btw, nice colour.

ClariceQuiff · 02/02/2022 18:06

Hair currently drying (I let my hair dry naturally) after mask. Left it on about 20 minutes but can't be sure of the exact time as I don't have a clock in the bathroom. I liked the subtle fragrance and it went on very smoothly. I will report back when my hair is dry.

ClariceQuiff · 03/02/2022 07:40

Very pleased with final result - exactly as the OP says, really, it's left it soft and smooth but with some weight to it. I will be recommending it to my sister, who has exactly the same type of hair as I do.

GeneLovesJezebel · 03/02/2022 07:47

I’m assuming you don’t have to have coloured hair to use it ?

ClariceQuiff · 03/02/2022 07:50

I don't think so - it's just a hydrating mask. Mine is hennaed but it's never been coloured with bleach or ammonia.

Ginevere · 03/02/2022 11:52

Glad you got on with it @ClariceQuiff! My mum tried it but only for a few minutes, she claimed it was softer but who knows! I’m going to try and get her to leave it on as a mask this weekend.

My hair isn’t coloured or treated at all @GeneLovesJezebel and it works great!

Yes, really liked it - thank you for starting the thread. It felt a lot more 'premium' - the packaging and the product - than the £7 price tag would suggest.

Ginevere · 03/02/2022 14:06

Yes agree! Wasn’t expecting much for the price.

I’ve been trying to find something that makes a difference to my hair for literally 15 years, so as soon as I did I wanted to spread the word! Just need a good shampoo now!

Just ordered. I've never found a really good conditioner so it's worth a try! Sounds like I have similar hair to you too.

ClariceQuiff · 03/02/2022 16:45

Just need a good shampoo now!

I like the Garnier 'Hair Foods' shampoos - particularly the papaya one. I've also had good results from Bed Head Resurrection, but I hate, hate, hate the smell so I very rarely use it - had the bottle for about 18 months now!

I used to like the OGX Sea Minerals shampoo but I think it might have been discontinued.

None of them are Holy Grail though, so very interested in any recommendations from fellow fine-haired people!

I have very thick, coarse mid back length auburn hair, used lots of masks including Phillip Kingsley which made mo difference to my hair. Wonder Water worked first time I used it but not so much after that. I'm going to try the Bleach mask. My hair gets very dry and tends to be a bit frizzy after washing. Have tried co washing but didn't really work. Surprised to see the Bleach mask in Sainsburys and Tesco so will be grabbing some next time I'm in there.

Beautiful3 · 04/02/2022 11:31

Hi, thought I'd update! I tried it, last night. It was great. My hair looks and feels great today. I only left it on for 20 minutes, so will try leaving it on for longer, next time.

Imabouttoexplode · 04/02/2022 11:42

Fibrology shampoo is the best for bulking up fine hair. Miles better than any of the more expensive ones.

Knittingnanny2 · 04/02/2022 11:47

I’ve just bought some for my dry bleached ends. How much of a 200g tube for one mask on long hair?

ClariceQuiff · 04/02/2022 12:02

My hair is bra-strap length and I used a cherry-sized blob. My hair is fine so that was enough to saturate it.

Knittingnanny2 · 04/02/2022 13:58

Ok thanks, I’ll try it out over the weekend and report back!

RestingMurderousFace · 04/02/2022 14:59

Ordered! Baaa Grin

That Elastacizer muck did bugger all for my hair too btw

BaconAndAvocado · 04/02/2022 15:47

Hair mask application question.....
Do you towel dry your hair before applying the mask? What would applying it to DRY hair do?
And do you use a warm towel?

I’m hoping to get this mask soon!

I currently use Pantene Smooth mask which I leave on for 30 minutes, it’s good but think I need something more hard core for my bleached locks!

Uptoongirl · 04/02/2022 15:54

Always use my masks on towel dried clean hair, shower cap and towel over the top.

I think if you put it on dry hair or even damp but hadn't washed it, the conditioner would struggled to penetrant any oils/products that had built up since you last washed it.

ClariceQuiff · 04/02/2022 19:50

I shampoo and rinse well, then squeeze out excess water before applying a mask. I never towel dry or blow dry my hair as it makes it more likely to frizz. The good thing about this mask was that frizz was zero - very rare for my fine, curly hair!

RestingMurderousFace · 05/02/2022 13:14

Just read it properly and it seem to be a protein mask. Some hair can be iffy with too much protein, it can cause it to be brittle and snap. Voice of experience. Don’t use it too often, just in case.

Knittingnanny2 · 05/02/2022 18:25

Well I tried it out and not much difference. Although I don’t think I left it on long enough. I’ll try again with the shower cap, towel and timer method!
To be honest the old granny vita pointe made it look smoother than the first mask attempt!

scandikate · 06/02/2022 08:01

I used it last night and my hair is so silky today, I can't stop touching it! I left it in all evening. Hated the Philip Kingsley one, this is similar to the morrocanoil one on my hair.
