Plus Sized Tights

Any recommendations? Happy to go into a shop or buy online. I like thick black tights (100 denier or similar) and like them to be non-shiny! UK size 20 with a tummy so I prefer them high waisted 😊

I bought Snag tights after everyone on here raved about them. The expensive wool mix pair went through on the toes (to holes) after an evening’s wear which involved a 15 min walk each way to a friend’s house and a few hours of sitting chatting. I was not impressed. The other pairs have been so-so too. I don’t understand why MNers go into raptures over Snag tights.

@Beigeisthenewblack I've never found any tights that don't go in the toes. I've started always wearing a pair of trainer socks underneath when I'm wearing boots or chunkier shoes now and it's made a huge difference to the longevity of my tight drawer.

Oh no @Beigeisthenewblack that’s so disappointing ☹️. I get the snags 80 denier and they have been fab. Heist on the other hand were such a dreadful waste of money.

@Beigeisthenewblack I've bought tights from Evans, Simply be and Asda (as well as Primark, Very, Yours, Tesco and M&S.) They don't fit well. Snag tights are the only tights I've found that fit properly. So I recommend them.

I have exceedingly “athletic” thighs (and hips and arse). Snag are the only tights which have comfortably gone over them AND all the way up to my waist.

I have had a good batch from M&S in the past - but for every good batch I buy at a different outlet, I buy 4 that won’t go over my arse.

Snag have allowed me to wear skirts and dresses again.

I have only stuck my thumb through a brand new pair once - of course that was on the way to a job interview, so there were dark forces at work anyway. Grin

I like the White Stuff Olivia tights. I’ve had some pairs for several years! They haven’t gone in the toes either.

I think the difference with Snag ( if I recall correctly ) is they stretch horizontally as well as vertically. Essentially other tights are tall but not wide. My only issue with them is they don’t have a label on them so I can’t find them in my pile but I thought they were very comfortable. I don’t know what a PP is suggesting? That Snag have ”agents” online ready to write their recommendations online should the question be asked ?

I like my snag tights. Not plus sized but I'm short so they work for me. I've got plus sized friends who rave about them.

There's a Mumsnet conspiracy regarding Snag tights. They're convinced we've been infiltrated.

They are a bit more expensive than high street ones but they are so comfortable, it's worth it.
