Advise on dress

Is this dress dowdy? I want to purchase for a wedding but Not sure about it. I do love the simplicity and the back

Obv I wouldn't wear that necklace on the model, I would wear a dainty one.

The colour is really like the photo, it's more muted if that makes sense.

It's either dowdy as hell or absolutely fabulous in a Tilda Swinton sort of way.

It's a vintage Valentino gown

Very comfortable, immaculate details on the back, flows beautifully. Covers my small tummy.

Definitely not a dainty necklace dress. The dress is effectively a blank canvas so it needs something bold but unfussy.

I'm not a fan of the colour but if it works for you....I assume you're very tall and slim. If not, it'll look like the dress is wearing you.

If you are tall and slim with small boobs I think it could look fabulous. It would look hideous on me and the colour wouldn’t suit either.

I was just about to suggest that you might look unfortunately like a monk (esp if the wedding is in church), then you add that it's vintage couture. What do I know !

Not only is it beautiful; feels Lux, but comfortable. I can see myself wearing it often. But the colour I'm not so sure of, but its the only one left.

I'm not that tall but slim and small breasted. It makes me look very tall.

The actual colour in real life is a odd yellow with a hint of green (ochre ) z

I'm sorry but that might be the most hidious dress I've ever seen. The colour is grim and very unflattering on the model even. I'm no style queen though

Hate the front, love the back. It needs a belt.

I have many black, red, cream dress colours that I realised I don't own any yellows. I do think it's very gorgeous but j don't know due to the colour. Maybe I should get it and say screw it. I have done mostly neutral colours all my life (blues blacks ivory gray) and I'm needing something interesting

It's nice enough. How does it fit with your style/age/figure? Will it be comfortable (not too hot with long sleeves)?

I'd want some chunky or bright jewellery to give it a little sparkle, maybe a nice brooch.

Could you buy, try and return if no good?

I'm a brunette, does that matter ? I do love her gowns, they're very simple but wow

I hope it doesn't look bridal, it's ochre colour.
