Is this dress dowdy? I want to purchase for a wedding but Not sure about it. I do love the simplicity and the back

Should I wear a short or to the knee dress? I have loads for work

@KimikosNightmare

I have two ERdem dresses; I'm really over floral wear. I would like a simple gown to wear with a patent boot for winter or fall, an overcoat, to dinners

Is it the dress or the colour? Bc the dress is nothing like I own - it is very well done

I have this dress, that's the model not me.

I like it.

Wear this. I think the first dress is hideous. Gives me friar tuck vibes. The green dress looks like it needs a good iron.

@julietmanchester

My other option is this dress
much bette!!
bonfireheart · 18/12/2021 23:52

Sorry but if you've been told specifically to wear something "spectacular" then avoid the friar tuck dress.

shinynewapple21 · 18/12/2021 23:53

I quite like the first dress as long as colour suits you . Don't like second one at all .

ScrollingLeaves · 19/12/2021 00:01

Absolutely beautiful.
Are you tall like the model?

gofg · 19/12/2021 00:11

I like the first one OP, and yes the back is gorgeous. I also like the colour.

gofg · 19/12/2021 00:16

@bonfireheart - this just shows how different we all are, and how pointless it is to ask for advice (especially from people you don't even know), as I hate all the green dresses you linked to, yet like the "friar tuck" one.

Honestly OP, you are the only one who can make the decision and you should wear the dress you like and which you feel good in. None of our opinions matter.

vastgrandupgrade · 19/12/2021 00:16

I like the first one, but two things: you have to have the right colouring for it, if you don’t it could make you look quite sallow; and, you have to be the kind of person who can wear it, rather than allow it to wear you! Also, a dainty necklace you would be all wrong.

HaaaaaveyoumetTed · 19/12/2021 00:28

The second looks like your going coutour Christmas tree.

The first could look fabulous.

lynntheyresexpeople · 19/12/2021 00:33

The first two are genuinely awful. The third is much better

IvorCutler · 19/12/2021 00:39

I think the first dress is beautiful

julietmanchester · 19/12/2021 00:51

Are any of these colours better?

The first one is really ugly, sorry Op. It’s shapeless and not a good colour. The second one looks like a chocolate wrapper. The third one (white) is the best.

julietmanchester · 19/12/2021 00:52

I do love the gown, I don't know if hot pink is me though.

bizboz · 19/12/2021 00:59

The flowiness is nice but I think it is wrong for a wedding. It's a bit plain. I don't think it looks at all bridal though! The pink one you already own is the nicest.

givethatbabyaname · 19/12/2021 01:05

The first one is beautiful. I love the colour and shape and everything about it. If you’re not that tall, please get it shortened. I’d happily go dainty with the jewelry (gold). The dress speaks for itself.

Personally, I couldn’t wear it all day, at a wedding, without dropping food/wine on it, or having someone drop their food/wine on it Blush Maybe you’re more civilised than I am!

The green one is hideous. It looks like a Quality Street wrapper. Sorry.

The cream plunging neckline is only going to work if you have a beautifully wrinkle-free décolletage and dark skin. That colour would wash out white skin, I think.

The right underwear is a must for both dresses. No lines anywhere. Probably a neck to ankle Spanx bodysuit? Grin

ApolloandDaphne · 19/12/2021 08:13

I adore that dress! It would look rubbish on me but I have a tall slim friend who would look ace in it.

dancingbymyself · 19/12/2021 08:21

The ochre dress is stunning, and needs a big, bold necklace to go with it. The others are rather twee. And listen to how you describe yourself in it! You love it. Great colour for brunettes and winter, too.
