Advise on dress

Is this dress dowdy? I want to purchase for a wedding but Not sure about it. I do love the simplicity and the back

I love the first dress and if you get it altered to fit you properly it will be stunning.
I can't wear flowing clothes because I'm too short and chubby....so wear it for me OP

This is the right dress, the shorter pink with black pattern if pic not copied. Make it spectacular with an amazing hat

I think if you are slim and have the right colouring then the dress is perfect. Also not in the slightest bit bridal I don't know where that came from. I couldn't wear that colour as I'd look awful but many of my more Mediterranean friends could pull it off brilliantly.

@julietmanchester - I prefer the green. I quite liked the style of the first one but something was off about it. The colour I didn’t like.

Shows how much of a style heathen I am as I have hated every single one of those Valentino dresses. At a massive push the hot pink one is what I'd go for. If I saw someone wearing these dresses to a wedding I'd be like... whoa, wtf are they wearing m? Then I'd be told ah well it's Valentino and I'd be like, yeah, just because it's expensive and has a 'name' doesn't make it nice or acceptable to wear to a wedding. But what do I know? I'd go to Harvey Nichols or some where that has a personal shopper/dresser person

I appreciate the comments! I decided to go for the dress, imma brunette and I don't like bright colors except cobalt blue. I don't feel good in hot pink so I will do the ochre color against my dark hair and pale skin.
