SOTD is Miss Dior Originale, because we have daffodils in the house looking very cheerful and sunny, it feels like spring, and Easter is nearly here. 🐣🐇

My pp order of Angel's Share arrived today, and it smells gorgeous @ChiswickFlo! It's all warm wood and cinnamon, with a hint of apple, and I can't stop sniffing the little card I applied it to. Easter Smile

SOTD is Angel's Share. Ooh, this smells wonderful! On me, it's cinnamon spiced fruits resting on a bed of rich warm woods and a slightly balsamic base. Just lovely, and so sniffable. Easter Smile

ChiswickFlo · 11/04/2022 08:01

I might wear it again today @festivelyscent

ChiswickFlo · 11/04/2022 11:58

Hello! I may be missing something on here but does anyone know where I can get some good dupes from of Kilian or MFK fragrances?

ChiswickFlo · 11/04/2022 20:02

Perfume Parlour

FestivelyScent · 11/04/2022 22:41

SOTD was No19.

SOTN is Ambre Orient.

ChiswickFlo · 12/04/2022 12:13

Sotd kayali vanilla

CorneliaStreet · 12/04/2022 13:13

SOTD E Coudray Givrine. Fresh and bright but very fleeting on me.

FestivelyScent · 12/04/2022 18:46

SOTD is Spellbound. This fragrance is an explosion of flowers, spices and richness in a bottle and is just perfect for Easter. 🐰🐥It smells exactly like someone is baking simnel cake and hot cross buns - laden with cloves, cinnamon and dried fruits - in a kitchen absolutely filled with lilies, daffodils and other Easter flowers! Weird but great, and very strong. 🐇🐣Easter Smile

Love your description:)
FestivelyScent · 12/04/2022 23:30

SOTN is Aromatics Elixir.

@ChiswickFlo Easter Smile I don't hear of or see Spellbound around much, but it really is an underrated gem - complex and rich and big, big, big in that 80s way. It's quite a warm cheerful smell, and I just think 'ahhh perfect for Easter', whenever I smell it. 🐣

DramaAlpaca · 12/04/2022 23:33

Spellbound sounds amazing, I can almost smell it from here!

SOTD was Le Parfum, Elie Saab.

SOTE Mitsouko.

ChiswickFlo · 13/04/2022 08:08

Sotd Estee lauder modern muse nuit

DramaAlpaca · 13/04/2022 14:45

Almost snap! Mine is Modern Muse. I was dithering between the two this morning and grabbed the nearest.

I

CorneliaStreet · 13/04/2022 15:27

I need to try more Estee Lauders, maybe Beyond Paradise or Pleasures, Modern Muse sounds my sort of thing too. Is it very big or ok for work etc?

ChiswickFlo · 13/04/2022 16:27

Both very office friendly imo

ChiswickFlo · 13/04/2022 17:08

But the original is too floral for me personally

DramaAlpaca · 13/04/2022 18:33

@CorneliaStreet either would be fine for work, I think.

FestivelyScent · 13/04/2022 23:31

Talking about big smells, went to the next town today and popped into Marks and Spencer - somebody had on the most overpowering fragrance. I thought they were demonstrating some new air freshener at first, you could smell it from one end of the Food Hall to the other. I wish I knew what scent it was, but I wouldn't have been able to ask the lady, as just walking past her was like being beaten, slapped and mauled by aggressive fruited woods. Easter Confused Then on the crowded bus home, someone had overdosed their washing powder or fabric softener, and it smelled like wee! There is a laundry product that smells urinous to me, I just wish I could remember which brand. Easter Shock

Estée Lauders are truly underrated imo, they are very well crafted, expensive smelling, but not too costly. I love almost all their perfumes, but especially their orientals and chypres. Easter Smile

SOTD was Shalimar, for a lovely spring day.

FestivelyScent · 13/04/2022 23:46

SOTN is Tobacco Vanille - which currently smells a bit like toasted hot cross buns and jam - that sort of yeasty, spicy, fruity smell. Or maybe a spiced fruit cake, glazed with apricot jam. Anyway, definitely raisins, dark brown sugar and spices, with something extremely sweet and syrupy over the top. Honey? I do sort of get a honeyed tobacco smell, but not especially strongly. No marzipan, but still a bit Easter-y to me. 🐣 Easter Smile

DramaAlpaca · 14/04/2022 01:05

I agree about Estee Lauder being underrated, they have some lovely fragrances and I need to explore more of them.

Luca Turin doesn't like Spellbound though, he describes it as 'medicated treacle' gives it one star out of five and his very short, pithy review reads like this:

'Powerfully cloying and nauseating. Trails for miles. Frightens horses. Gets worse'

Grin Grin Grin I just have to track it down and test it for myself now! I tend not to agree with Mr Turin, but he does make me laugh at times.
