My new favourite now is Lady Vengeance. What an amazing blind buy. I am not all that great as describing scents, I'll just say one me, this is beautiful. So much for hanging on to it until winter. It will be SOTD tomorrow. It seems quite subtle, but I keep getting a waft of myself.

Tom Ford Extreme Lavender. Well this is the complete opposite. There had been some transfer into the lid during its travels, so I got a good dose of it on my hands. I am really not sure about this one at all. It is very strong (maybe from the spill I got too much on my hands). Extreme is an apt name for it though 😃. I'll have to see about this one, but this is an autumn / winter one I think. I'll park this one for now, but I don't instantly love it like LV.

I didn't pay full price for them thankfully. They are both tester bottles (both full) , which might explain the strength in Tom Ford, as I have read that some of the testers can be more intense. This one has a lid, but JHAG doesn't. I don't have a problem with that at all as they are just for me to use.

I have had a busy perfume week as I managed to source the now difficult to find Modern Muse Rouge over the weekend. So now the purse will be tightly zipped for a while.

Hi, can I join in? I’ve always tended to wear one perfume for a while then switch, but I’ve realised I stop being able to really smell it after a while and it’s much more fun to switch around lots.

I had a look through some of your lovely threads and on the back of recommendations on here ordered the Margiela Replica discovery set. It arrived today and I’ve just tried By the Fireplace - it’s absolutely gorgeous. In the past I’ve gone for things like Dune, L’Eau D’Issey, Romance, Daisy, etc so wasn’t expecting to like it so much.

I’ve got Autumn Vibes on the other hand, but not so keen on that.

Four samples from Miller Harris also arrived today. Can’t wait to try everything, though I think this might be an expensive habit to get into!

I have already learned such a lot from this thread. This is the first time I have heard of Maison Margiela, it doesn't seem to be available to us here but it is so popular on this thread. The same with 4160 Tuesdays. I feel like I need to stamp my foot as I am seemingly missing out.

As mentioned, today I am trying out Lady Vengeance properly. As in a full days wear as yesterday I had sprayed it on when I was already wearing Chanel. It has now been on for 9 hours since this morning, and although it has worn off a bit, I can still smell it. I think 9 hours is a good period of time for a scent to last. At about 4 hours in, I think I loved it the most.

Opal8... I see MM Nuit is on the list of options for me at a bargain price. I'm intrigued now as I don't know why I hadn't noticed it before. I do not get on with the first Modern Muse though, it really was headachy for me, but I may go and test this one when I am in the shops again.

I took a risk with my blind buy, but if I can get a test of one first its always a better idea.

I am thinking of passing the Tom Ford along to someone else. Just have to think who it would suit. I put it in my wardrobe and when I open it, even that smell is quite overpowering.

I'm not a fan of the original Modern Muse either but I really like Modern Muse nuit. Its a very pleasant vanilla patchouli. I also love the blue colour! 💙

I've sprayed kilian angels share more than once today - maybe that's the secret? I can smell it more today. It's lovely but not worth £170 imo.

SOTD JM Wood Sage and Sea Salt. I think this is the first airing for this in about six months and I don’t know why I don’t reach for it more often, it is really lovely.

Hello, delurking after receiving my first sample sets from 4160 Tuesdays. I was intrigued by so many of their scents I ended up going for both the confectionary set (which I confess made me feel a bit childish) and the deluxe.

So far I've tried:

• Above the Chocolate Shop (my main reason for trying the confectionary set, though sadly a disappointment on me - it starts well but fades a bit sour)
• Creamy Vanilla Crumble (warm and soft, and I Iike the bay note that keeps it from being too easy)
• Crikey! Caramel Coconut - very pleasant
• Rhubarb & Custard. This has been the stand out so far for me - lovely balance of fragrant tang and sweetness. I can't stop sniffing it. I really wouldn't have expected it.

Am so hung up on Rhubarb & Custard I've not moved onto anything else yet!

Has anyone tried the Gallivant Nomad discovery set?

I've tried all the Gallivant fragrances and I like them all. My favourite is Bukhara.

Well. I'm not sure whet to say about this. I like it, but it's not at will what I expected nor do the notes on fragrantica tally worh me nose.

It's very very smooth, creamy sandalwood. I think this will be popular.

This evening I have Modern Muse on one wrist and Modern Muse Nuit on the other. Boots had an offer with MMN free when you bought MM, too good to turn down I thought. I love musky white florals and am very pleased with Modern Muse, I think I'll wear it a lot. Nuit is intriguing me, I was expecting it to be an evening version of Muse but it's very different and has an interesting gourmand feel to it. I think I approve, will see how it goes.

I was intrigued by MM Nuit, so happened to be near the store where I bought the MMLR recently, so asked to test it.

They didn't have it! Said it is only available at the larger stores for some reason. This particular store isn't small, so I don't get it. They had the other MM in. They tend to do that a lot here. Like Chanel, for eg. It isn't available to buy from just anywhere. Only the major flagship stores sell it, so if you want to have a test, you have to travel. Is it the same there?

And Dior are also a bit annoying. Only one store in a whole shopping mall can sell Dior. So you could have 3 stores selling perfume, but only one of them will be allowed to sell Dior. If you go to another shopping mall, it may well be the 2nd department store that has it there. And not the same store that had it at the previous shopping centre. And on top of that, these two brands never take part in a sale. For Valentines day for eg, they had up to 25% off all fragrances. All except Chanel and Dior that is.

That was a bit of a waffle to say that I haven't yet tried Nuit. .

The online options are not quite the same here. We don't really have the order the samples option. We are still old school. Go to a shop and do a load of squirts. Come home with a major headache and have to stick your nose into the coffee tub to find yourself again....

SOTD Jo Malone Peony and Blush

Sotd Miss Dior(2021). Its snowed here but I wanted something Spring like. Smells like sugared rose and raspberry to me. Lovely but not long lasting.
