I need talking out of getting this dress

I've seen pictures of this dress popping up everywhere (probably because I clicked on it) and now it's reduced! I like the style, the colour palette and the length. I think I like the pattern. I'm not sold on the sleeves. Do you like it? I shouldn't get it, should I? I don't exactly need any dresses and I think I am falling prey to social media marketing algorithms.

That’s a no from me. It’s not awful but the waist is too high (like you say) and the frill round the bottom of the skirt is fussy.
If you’re anything like me you would overlook this dress for something you like better every time, while this one hangs on the rail unworn. Back it goes.

It looks far better on you than on the model. You could work a kind of William Morris / Pre-Raphaelite vibe with it I think. But frankly the pricing is outrageous for that type of fabric. So yeah I started as a no and I guess I’m ending as a no!

I think the frill at the bottom of the sleeve would be flappy, annoying and end up in your dinner or caught on your handbag. Or maybe it’s just me who’s a klutz.

I think it looks okay on you and with some work on the sleeves it would be nice. But I wouldn't pay more than 25-30 pounds for it.

I think it actually has a lot of potential. Shorten the frill on the sleeve by 1/2, get rid of the tights and replace with a cream
knee high boots, or some nice ankle boots. But definitely not with those tights!!

Jeez, thats worse than my nan's lampshade that I mentioned upthread. It's more like the polyester floral bedcover she had to cover the spare bed she couldn't be bothered making when she wasn't expecting visitors.
