Give me your reccomendations for the best foundation you've ever tryed!! ( any price low or high)

I'm after something long wearing like EL double wear but won't cake and sink into fine lines.

Armani do one like double wear and their foundation is the best I've ever found.

ExplodingCarrots · 23/11/2021 17:26

I've tried a lot of foundations from super cheap to high end and the best ones for my skin have been

  • maybelline super stay foundation
  • L'Oréal infallible
  • SHEIN complexion pro long lasting foundation .

I do also love double wear but the foundations above are super cheap in comparison and work well for me.

JohnStonesMissus · 23/11/2021 17:27

I swear by Revlon Candid Photo ready foundation, blends in perfectly, I've always been a fan of their foundations and powders though..

EllaPaella · 23/11/2021 17:28

I've tried so many and have been using Estée Lauder DW for years for nights out and special occasions but my favourite one for day to day wear is actually L'oreal Infallible, it's strong coverage but non cakey and doesn't oxidise at all.
I've pretty much tried all the really pricey ones and do really like Nars but it doesn't last as long as double wear.

fluoropostit · 23/11/2021 17:29

No7 hydraluminous.

squishee · 23/11/2021 17:31

Years after I stocked up on it I'm still using Me Me Me mousse foundation in Barely There. Dreading the day I run out, as it looks like the brand is long gone.

miltonj · 23/11/2021 17:32

L'Oréal infallible
The ordinary - it's quite natural looking.

I wanted to try este Lauder DL but not if it's cakey? I'm quite young but do have dry skin and lines round my eyes. So don't want to spend the money if it's not worth it.

Missatkins · 23/11/2021 17:33

The ones I've tried are:

Estee Lauder double wear
Most of the Chanel ones
Lancome
Dior
Clinique
Mac
La Prairie
Armani
Tom Ford
Mid range.. Maybelline, Revlon, NYX

MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE.. Born This Way by Two Faced, used with the Plump and Prime Primer. Gives a really lovely glow.

Glitterb · 23/11/2021 17:35

It cosmetics do a great foundation, I got a sample tube first and I love it! I was a double wear lover but do find it doesn’t always sit well on my skin

SprayedWithDettol · 23/11/2021 17:38

By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra Foundation.

TheRustler · 23/11/2021 17:48

Hourglass Vanish stick foundation. Just like skin.

Moonshine5 · 23/11/2021 17:54

I have drier skin and want full coverage
In order of preference:
Huda Faux Filter
Fenty (coverage not as heavy as Huda)
The Ordinary (best colour match and cheap)
Bare Minerals (bit orangey and shows dryness)

Dinosaurhearmeroar · 23/11/2021 17:57

Armani luminous silk is beautiful - foundation always looks better with a primer abs the best primer is ysl (it’s clear with glitter!)

mynameiscalypso · 23/11/2021 18:00

I'm obsessed with Eborian CC Cream

Cosyclothes · 23/11/2021 18:01

Ooh thanks for starting this thread! I am another who has been using EL Double Wear for about 10 years now. Used to love love love it but I have found it’s a bit drier on my skin now at 32 than it was in my 20s!! I’m thinking of moving on to something else too.

DuneFan · 23/11/2021 18:01

Armani Power Fabric. Does not budge at all, doesn't cake. I don't have many fine lines so can't really comment on that aspect. I have oily/combo skin and a bad habit of touching my face, this is the only foundation that doesn't disappear on me over the day.

£££ though Sad so currently saving my supplies for special occasions only!

Claudia84 · 23/11/2021 18:19

IT cosmetics cc cream - fantastic coverage and sits really well.
I also always come back to L'Oréal true match.. but I don't know if it's that long wear...
The nicest one I've ever used was a Dior spray one which I bought once and then couldn't afford to buy again until it was discontinued. It was like having an airbrushed face.

Littleguggi · 23/11/2021 21:16

Pricey but I'm obsessed with pat mcgrath

bjjgirl · 23/11/2021 21:20

Laura mercer for full coverage

Body shop for bb cream

whitershadeofpale · 23/11/2021 21:28

I’m loving the new Lisa Eldridge foundation. Apart from that I like Mac face and body for a light summer look and Armani lasting silk.

My old favourite was Bourgeois healthy mix (RIP 😩)

Smoothsoul · 23/11/2021 21:38

I lve been using ELDW for years also and recently changed to mac but I really dislike it. It’s casket and patchey looking. I’ve tried using different primers from rimmel to clarins flash balm, No primer, light moisturising, heavy creams, facial oil and I can’t get my foundation to sit nicely for weeks now.
I just want a nice dewy coverage.

nanbread · 23/11/2021 21:41

@mynameiscalypso

I'm obsessed with Eborian CC Cream
Can I ask how old you are / skin type? Since my late 30s basically most foundations look awful on me
Delatron · 23/11/2021 21:41

Armani luminous silk

Delatron · 23/11/2021 21:42

But now I’m 45 I don’t bother with foundation. That was a fave from my 30s.

I just wear Laura Mercier primer now. That’s all.

IamGusFring · 23/11/2021 21:44

Dior Forever Skin Glow
