I want trousers that just fit me. Happy to buy cropped or ankle grazers as full length.

Size ten, quite a big bum and hips so can't buy children's.

@Dellabob123

5ft here too! I’ve had some success with Stradivarius skinnies...no turn up required! Biden petite is a definite. And I’ve just splashed out and bought cropped jeans from Reiss which are perfect length and also woollen cropped trousers from jigsaw, again, perfect length.

I’m not a fan of m and s and next are odd fitting.

Let us know what you purchase OP.

@Dellabob123 share the link for the Reiss jeans?

To be honest now I am spoilt for choice and don’t know what to look for.

Cropped Levi’s sound good too.

I will report back on purchases but it will take me a while

I don’t turn them up as shown. They look great on.

Do keep us posted if you find amazing stuff

Dellabob123 · 03/11/2021 17:56

Actually, it was these...I didn’t get petite as I didn’t want cropped!!!

Wow those look amazing. I am big of Butt and thigh tho. Might try anyway and report back.

And after the TROUSERS can we talk about SHOES?

Size 2. Wide feet. I am not a hobbit.
Only boys Uggs seem to fit anymore. Have mainly given up everything else. Also Voinic for work.

Gap, River Island, Marks and Spencer and New Look. I'm shorter than you too and sadly not Kylie-proportioned.

I have boyfriend jeans from Gap and they are ace, really comfy and look great, even if I do say so myself. Buying flared/bootleg jeans is a pain though as if you get them altered, you lose the shape!

Echobelly · 03/11/2021 18:57

I'm 5ft 1 and M&S short fit is fine. I also buy 'ankle skimmers' in other shops so they come out right!

Boden. I’m 5ft 1 and I wear their petite jeans and Richmond 7/8th trousers.

CottonSock · 04/11/2021 07:12

Shoes I have wide feet also and wear kids Dr Martin Chelsea boots and kids Adidas gazelles. No need for smart anymore as I work from home

saraclara · 04/11/2021 07:30

M&S short are too long for me. There's never any extra short in my local one. I've had more luck with next petite, but it varies with the style.

EntreMummy · 04/11/2021 10:58

My new Boden petite barrel leg jeans.
I’ve turned them up slightly to style them, but they are a great length on my 26”

babyinthacorner1 · 04/11/2021 11:46

@userwhatever01 you have size 2 FEET?! That’s tiny!
If you have wide feet, go for barefoot brands. My kids have always worn barefoot shoes and I started during lockdown 1 and I can’t wear ‘normal’ shoes anymore 😬
Look at Vivo Barefoot first, their Primus trainers and Fulham Chelsea boots are good. For other barefoot brands, look up anya’s reviews on instagram.

OhRosalind · 04/11/2021 12:05

Size 2 feet doesn’t seem that small if you’re short, most shops go down to 3 as standard.

Sezane do size 35 and their shoes are a bit wide for me, I have narrow feet though. In general French brands are quite petite friendly.

userwhatever01 · 04/11/2021 16:38

ooo sezane and barefoot both look good.

This has been excellent.

Ahh the perpetual agony!
For this reason I wear dresses! Love them - lengthen you if you are short.
Wear thick socks and boots in winter with dresses.
Lululemon align tight in 21 inch leg has changed my life! - a recent discovery!

BruiserWoods · 04/11/2021 21:19

I'm only 5'1'' and i have a couple of petite boden jeans and they're perfect. I just bought a grey pair of jeans from m&s (short length) and they were too long, I thought i could roll them up like girlfriend jeans but I'm going to go to a tailor. Next petite jeans usually fit. Mint velvet short length works for me too.

marilynmonroe · 04/11/2021 21:21

Another good shop for petite with lots of choice is zalando. Also oasis have quite a bit of petite trousers as does warehouse. All online.

There was an article in the independent recently where they had 35 places to buy petite clothes from. I found it really helpful.

userwhatever01 · 05/11/2021 07:30

Going to look at Boden today. I just want it to fit out the packet.

I bought these silk long johns from lands end (with 20% off) and they are a good fit and lovely to wear. I wish the silk was a bit thicker but maybe that’s too ££ now.

@EntreMummy what size are you wearing? You look similar size and shape to me, but I'm always between sizes.

EntreMummy · 05/11/2021 09:46
@EntreMummy what size are you wearing? You look similar size and shape to me, but I'm always between sizes.
Hi @CottonSock so these are a 12, because I wanted them a bit roomier. I would often get a 10 though in trousers and jeans, and always 8 in Boden dresses as my top half is smaller.

GoingForAWalk · 05/11/2021 11:44

Buy children's size try M&S, Zara, New Look, H&M, Next, Brandy Melville if you're a size 6-8 etc

Youcunnyfunt · 05/11/2021 14:43

I don't really wear trousers, because of the issue of fitting both hips and waist (I have 39" hips, 29" waist).
For jeans I stick with Levis mostly, or George (Asda). My inner leg is 29" (just to be awkward). I'm basically boobs and then bum and legs... no torso.

WellTidy · 05/11/2021 16:05

Also - with faux leather trousers, these can very easily be shortened as they can be cut. M&S is doing 7/8 faux leather trousers in short and they’re fine on me. I wouldn’t be able to wear the skinny ones (as I am far from skinny) but the wide leg look really nice.

dontcallmelen · 05/11/2021 16:54

I’d be up for a thread, I’m 4ft 10 size 4/6 size 2.5 shoe.
Sezane a good shout for trainers haven’t tried trousers or jeans
Boden length is not bad but always to big on the hips same with next & M&S, topshop Jaime ankle grazer jeans fit well, I be found it increasingly difficult buying clothes as sizing is so over the place I have dresses from French connection that are probably nearly twenty years old all a size 10 recent dress purchase from FC size six🤔
