What do you think of these dress options?

I have an evening event to attend where the dress code is 'smart'.

What do you think off these options?

Option 1 or 2 (2 I already own so is the easier option just worried it's about much skin)

The black version of the first dress with the pleats or the blazer sort of dress are more on the mark than the red one for fancy evening meal if your 30s (says 31 year old me)

Pair of pointy black heels with either, delicate necklace and nicely done hair will be perfect!

You can't go wrong with a little black dress. It's how you style it. I'd fancy it up with the accessories

Don't do beige - unless you have amazingly dramatic colouring. The Karen Millen dress style is not really that nice

If you like the tuxedo dress style this is a bit cheaper that the Reiss one

I think with your darker colouring the taupe - but do love both!

The lighter shade is probably more seasonally versatile too

@jackstini you raise very good points and to be honest I was veering towards the colour anyway. You're right it is winter and summer appropriate. A little worried being time of the month but I'll just have to take precautions and stop being paranoid.

If neither look right nor the Karen Millen then I'm just wearing the black dress number 2 in the original pic but with a blazer to cover it up a bit!

Love the Silkfred dress, particularly in the red. I couldn’t wear it as I’m too large of tit but it looks perfect for a stylish young woman at a corporate event to me.

I'd have gone for wide trousers and a cool top and heels. The dresses are all a bit ladies' day at the races for my taste.

I think your red dress is perfect for an evening networking dinner. I guess its not the most exciting of dresses but it won't offend anyone and people will remember you from the colour. I'd go with that.

I like the red one. And everyone else will be wearing black so you'll definitely look much more interesting and fresh
