What can I do to help neck and jaw line?

Namechange1965 · 25/10/2021 16:48

Just that really. My neck and jaw line are making me feel very unattractive and old. I would love to hear advice from those in the know. My self-esteem has never particularly high but it's rock bottom at the moment possibly due to going through the menopause ATM.The pictures attached are without makeup.

Your skin is beautiful! I can't see anything wrong at all with your jaw and neck. My only comment would be that your 3rd pic makes it look like your haircut is one I would associate with older ladies...would a more blunt cut help?
I say this with a scraggy old neck and crappy haircut myself, honestly I think you look very pretty!

Herecomesthesun70 · 25/10/2021 17:01

You have gorgeous skin and your neck & jaw are gone. I'm 48 and my neck is terrible.
I agree with pp however. Your hair is ageing you. Please don't take that in anyway badly. It looks very classy but that's not always youthful

Namechange1965 · 25/10/2021 17:08

Thank you both. I am growing my hair at the moment. My hairdresser has suggested some like this but it will take time.

Ehh?? Your skin is perfect, what do you think you can see?

Aquamarine1029 · 25/10/2021 17:11

I do neck and facial exercises, and they definitely help. Look up videos on YouTube. There are loads of them.

Namechange1965 · 25/10/2021 17:14

@doadeer A turkey neck and saggy jaw.
@Aquamarine1029 Thank you I will give that a try.

Are you fishing for compliments

I'd kill for your skin!!

Namechange1965 · 25/10/2021 17:21

God no @Helpimfalling. Maybe my neck and jaw look worse in person.

I can't see an issue either. I've been doing Eva Fraser face exercices for the last 7 years. Jowls are an issue in my family so I'm hoping to prevent them for as long as possible.

You don’t need to try and have the skin elasticity of a 20 year old when you’re no longer 20… you look fabulous and agree that your skin is very clear and firm!

If you absolutely want to reduce then you could look into collagen facials - which is essentially a skin tightening treatment, it’s great on jowels and chin sag. You need a course of about 6 but I saw good results after just a few sessions.
That’s non surgical. You could also consider laser skin tightening. Again non surgical.

How about retinol? A good retinol product may be beneficial also.

There’s lots of things you can do to try and improve the appearance if it does really bother you or you can work on accepting that the aging is a gift and that we don’t have to fight it. Learn to love the changes.
Or you can do both!

Wagsandclaws · 25/10/2021 18:52

Blimey I can't see anything wrong with your neck or jowls. I lost a lot of weight in my 40's and just had a neck and lower face lift as I had a super saggy neck and jaw.

I know it's not what you want to hear but there is absolutely nothing wrong with your neck or jawline, you are really lucky Smile

Can you tell me more about the neck and lower face lift please? Was it expensive, what were procedure and recovery like, are you happy with results? Thanks!
WireyGirl · 25/10/2021 20:47

I think I know what you mean as I have the same shape neck. Is it that it is a 45 degree angle rather than 90 degree, if you know what I mean? I think it’s just how you are and it doesn’t look that saggy to me, more how you are made.

AmberLynn1536 · 25/10/2021 20:52

Nothing wrong with your neck or jawline but very much agree with previous posters you have a very un-modern haircut.

Namechange1965 · 25/10/2021 20:58

Possibly @WireyGirl, but it definitely seems worse in the last few years.. I'm 56 now so I expect will only get more pronounced from here on.

Same!
GlitterBiscuits · 25/10/2021 21:51

56?! No way. I'd have said much less

Namechange1965 · 25/10/2021 21:53

@AmberLynn1536 Yes, I am growing my hair and it's at a very difficult stage atm. My hairdresser has suggested something like these which I think look fairly modem.

@BlackSwan and @FictionalCharacter you are both too kind. Thank you.

You are 56 and look like this? You should be giving out tips not asking for them (meant kindly, honest). You look great.

I have the beginnings of turkey neck. I used Prai cream and found it quite good. When it ran out I bought a cheaper one from Amazon and it works even better. It's called Galeboy Neck Firming Cream and cost £15.99. No cream can take all the wrinkles away entirely but there is a definite improvement. I agree that OP doesn't seem to have turkey neck!

CherryBlossomAutumn · 26/10/2021 00:07

Oh my god. You are 56 and have a jawline like that?

Honestly are you really genuine?! Because that is the jawline of a 21 year old, and if you are worried, well a) feel free to have my late 40s jaw and b) are you OK Op because it’s not healthy to be so worried about something which is objectively perfect.

DramaAlpaca · 26/10/2021 00:08

Now come on, OP! I'm a year older than you and I'd kill to have your neck and jawline. You don't have a turkey neck or a saggy jaw. Honestly, you look great - you really do.
