Do I need to get my coat?........

Pheebs2021 · 25/10/2021 19:25

whisper I like the leggings will I end up in exile now?
The red jacket sucked and didn't come home.

SummaLuvin · 25/10/2021 19:30

I agree the leggings look cool. I would never wear them myself, but can appreciate it on Claudia.

MarshaBradyo · 25/10/2021 19:39

I think it’s pretty good too! Boots, shirt and leggings

Stokey · 25/10/2021 20:08

I love the whole look. I'd never wear leggings without covering by bum, but she rocks it.

I had an 80s party on Saturday night and went as Alexis Carrington. I loved channelling Joan Collins and found a fab video of her doing her make up while Michael Parkinson looks on in awe. The first beauty vlogger, what a legend!

CarolineBringley · 25/10/2021 20:09

I love it! Oooh imagine your long legs in those leggings😍

CarolineBringley · 25/10/2021 20:14

@Stokey that sounds so fun. Joan was on a chat show at the weekend. She looked amazing. Reminded me of my very glamorous dm and dmil - women with super high standards in their old ageGrin

shopafrolic · 25/10/2021 20:36

I do actually like the leggings - I was just worried I’d scared you all off.
@Stokey we need pics!

shopafrolic · 25/10/2021 20:39

Claudia’s outfit from Sat night

maradesbois · 25/10/2021 21:17

Love the sound of that @Stokey, Dynasty was my Friday night highlight when I was at primary school and I started wearing spf every day thanks to Joan ‘never let the sun see your face darling’ Grin.

Fab @shopafrolic, you have rock chic vibes like Claudia.

@AppleFairy agree with @shop about winter boots. Thick soled loafers are also fashionable this season and what my young colleagues are wearing. Not sure @CarolineBringley will be following that particular trend any time soon! I’m still eyeing up thick soled tall Chelsea boots and some Marant trainers, will link if I take any of them over the line…

I rarely read the Times but am have just looked at the T2 and it has a piece on “Liz Truss fashion icon” all about her clothes (very nice) but I just feel a bit disappointed about it (and you know how much I love clothes). Just another intelligent woman reduced to what she wears.....it’s a bit depressing. Am I over reacting?

libertyonhertravels · 27/10/2021 10:47

It is depressing @DryWhiteagainW

Really enjoying all the chat, newbies and lovely pictures and links Smile.

I sort of envy @shopafrolic having Claudia as a fashion muse. I can't think of any celeb who I could use as inspiration!! But Claudia's style (and all round fabulousness) is shop to a tee.

Does anyone else have a person who provides consistent style inspiration?

libertyonhertravels · 27/10/2021 10:49

And I want some clumpy loafers or brogues. Feeling like my standard versions aren't quite cutting it lately.

Stokey · 27/10/2021 11:10

@DryWhiteagainW, valid point but am sure Liz T would adore the Times piece. When she was at DIT, it was known as the "Department for Instagramming Truss". If we ever meet again IRL, remind me to tell you a story re LT.

Great Q about fashion muses @libertyonhertravels. I still love Kate Moss but she's moved a bit out of the limelight recently.

DryWhiteagainW · 27/10/2021 11:25

Sounds intriguing Stokey
Getting off my soap box now.

Lib I’ve always loved Julianne Moore. Similar colouring to me. Similar age. She’s always so stylish and elegant. Wish I could dress like her.

On Shop’s advice I bought some 5081s for everyday .....with my Whistlaes lace up boots and slightly turned., I feel unusually current.

DryWhiteagainW · 27/10/2021 11:26

501s........gah

Oh please tell me in a DM. I follow politics avidly and a bit of gossip around it is always interesting 🙂

shopafrolic · 27/10/2021 17:51

Julianne Moore perfect for you @DryWhiteagainW
My other style icon is Zoe Ball when she dresses for It Takes Two - except she doesn't present it anymore. But all the fab knitwear, ridiculous high heeled boots and skinnies were me to a tee. Basically anyone with a good fringe, tousled hair, loads of eyeliner....... Grin

shopafrolic · 27/10/2021 17:54

MiniShop had his first day out of isolation today so we went to our nearest big shopping centre. For the first time ever someone asked me where I get my hair coloured - which tickled me as I have now embraced the natural grey! They were gobsmacked when I told them it was natural, and then even more gobsmacked when I told them my age. So either they loved it, or they are the best trained, always compliment the customer type sales assistants ever. I walked out feeling v happy :)

Stokey · 27/10/2021 19:41

Ah Shop that's amazing ♥️. And great to hear mini Shop is out of isolation.

DryWhiteagainW · 27/10/2021 21:13

Go Shop .....you are a style icon

SummaLuvin · 28/10/2021 10:57

Thought I would share some of my recent successful purchases. I read The Secret History a month ago, might be showing.

Blazer
Loafers
Coat
Bag

Stokey · 28/10/2021 19:23

I love that book @SummaLuvin. Great buys, I really like the oversized blazer. I was hanging out with a friend who was wearing leopardskin loafers this afternoon and thought I needed something similar.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 28/10/2021 19:55

Just popping in to say my &OS wrap cardi seems to be trapped with Hermes, so I ended up buying this dress today as an alternative:

Black again, I know!
