When you are in your round the house clothes, would you look presentable if someone knocked the door?

I just caught sight of myself in the mirror. Baggy leopard print pyjama bottoms, oversized t-shirt, fleecy top over as I am cold, sheepskin slippers, scruffy ponytail, old mascara.

If anyone called, I would panic!

I think I need to invest in some nice ‘loungewear’ or make sure I’m at least in jeans for the day even if I’m not going out.

(Note: I am clean)

Yes I think so. Right now I'm wearing joggers, t-shirt and a chunky cardigan.

I wouldn't want to go out like this but I'd be fine to answer the door.

I always get showered, dressed and brush my hair even if it's just into comfy clothes.

TheChosenTwo · 17/10/2021 17:32

I’m presentable enough!
I sleep naked so when I get up I put on either leggings or joggers and a tshirt/jumper or just a giant tshirt depending on the weather.
I’d open the door to anyone as long as I’m not naked tbh!
I wouldn’t go out and about in these clothes but I’m fully dressed, the clothes aren’t dirty and my teeth are brushed when I get up in the morning and my face is washed. Good enough for me and anyone coming visiting.

Cam22 · 17/10/2021 19:51

I’m always properly dressed.

Cam22 · 17/10/2021 19:52

I don’t have any “slobby” garments.

DirtyDancing · 17/10/2021 20:00

Nope! And last week I had a day where I ended up just in my awful bra / crop top from eBay China which barely contains my tits (but is oh so comfy) as I was too hot in my massive baggy jumper and couldn't be arsed to go upstairs and change.

When the postman rang the bell I almost forgot and went to answer the door! Just about to open it and I realised and had to run back and put my jumper on Grin

LolaSmiles · 17/10/2021 20:05

Usually I'm I something like yoga pants and a oversized jumper, or printed trousers and a t shirt or a casual dress and leggings, soft jumpsuit: the sort of clothes I'd happily go to the post office or corner shop in, but wouldn't go for coffee in.
I don't like the idea of wearing pyjamas all day and even some lounge wear feels a bit too close to nightwear during the day for my liking.

santabetterwashhishands · 17/10/2021 20:06

I'd feel self conscious because I'm not wearing a bra but I'd be presentable (vest top and baggy summer trousers)

PrincessNutNuts · 17/10/2021 20:16

I have a long belted cardigan hanging up in the hallway that I sling on over whatever skimpy fitness gear I'm wearing so as not to give the delivery person an eyeful.

I get into my PJs hours earlier than I used to when I was commuting, but they are quite respectable looking.

If you come round when I am in manic cleaning mode though, I will look a complete fright, and everything I'm wearing will be full of holes, and faded or stained.

LoisWooookersonsLastNerve · 17/10/2021 22:25

I'd love to dress a bit comfier but I look so horrendous in joggies etc. It makes me feel crap. Imagine a potato wrapped in an old scrunchie ....

Pigtailsandall · 18/10/2021 09:46

I think I am. I wake up early at 5.30, and by 7am I've showered and dressed. My day doesn't get started without showering and after that I might as well get dressed. I also work outside the home so I need to dress for the office mist days.

I also invested in a beautiful dressing gown so I can come eye to eye with the milkman at 6.30 and look ok enough

StarlightLady · 18/10/2021 10:55

Looking back, there was one warm day last summer when l accidentally mooned the postman. He handed me a package which was heavier than l thought.

I swiftly turned round and put it down on the floor. I was just wearing a long Tshirt, but seemingly not long enough.

The same postman is still around, so it appears he did not require long term therapy!!!

When I’m dressed, I would (although I may well be sans bra with big boobies). I do spend rather a lot of time in pyjamas though 😳
