Beauty Advent Calendars 2021 Thread 3 - Decisions Decisions! (Spoilers included)

Peridot1 · 08/10/2021 09:57

Hope it’s ok to have started the thread as we seemed to run out of the last one a bit quickly! And I was really enjoying the thread and reading everyone’s thoughts.

I started reading the first one determined not to buy one this year.

Currently I have the Rituals one and have just ordered the Origins 12 Day one for the 12 days of Christmas!

Let the chat and decisions continue!

Regarding sorting and sorting like others I have my stash sorted into bags of cleansers, toners etc. Now that travel is back on the cards I will use them up that way.

I think that M&S is the best mixed brand one in that price range. I was around 30 the first time I got it and I loved it. I don't think that it's too old ladyish[/quote]
Great. Thanks. I didn't think so either but as I said, I'm clueless Grin

PomRuns · 25/10/2021 21:05

The Decleor calendar comes with 2 free gifts on feel unique - I am so tempted to get but already have fortnums...

LastSummerHere · 25/10/2021 21:08

I think the M&S one sounds pretty ideal for her, really. The fragrances might well work out too. And I love the tin this year...festive and pretty, but also useful.

PomRuns · 25/10/2021 21:09

M&s looks great - really good mix, I am sure she would like it @OchonAgusOchonOh

OchonAgusOchonOh · 25/10/2021 21:11

Thanks @LastSummerHere and @PomRuns.

I guess I can't get it for myself now too...

PomRuns · 25/10/2021 21:12

You could do swaps?
Is it £30? I think entirely justifiable to buy 2 tbh.

I don't know how much it is yet. I'm assuming as it's £40 with £30 spend, it will be €50 with €40 spend.

I don't tend to buy much in M&S but there are a couple of nice cardigans I spotted so I could probably bring it up to €80 and it would be a nice bonding exercise, us both opening it at the same time. She's away at uni so not in the same house.

DaisyD0 · 25/10/2021 21:29

Boots website now have No7 calendars to buy. Just ordered the £47 one!

PomRuns · 25/10/2021 21:29

It's a lovely bonding thing to do.
Yes £40 - do you need duvet set? tights? Glasses? Some f the knitwear is gorgeous this year. I just got a fluffy green cardigan.

MidnightMeltdown · 25/10/2021 21:39

@OchonAgusOchonOh

Yes I've got M&S calendars for me and my mum before and we always discuss which products we like ☺️

M&S do some pretty good home stuff too. I've bought roasting pans, kitchen storage containers etc in there before. Also things like towels, sheets etc. I always think that I'll struggle to find something to make up the spend, but I never do! Of course you can also buy beauty too...

Sorted! A cardigan and tights should get me to €80. Hopefully the required spend won't be more than that.

I saved a few cardigans on the site but unfortunately, the feature doesn't seem to work properly so I can't see it when I go back in. I'll just bookmark them instead.

I'm getting all excited nowSmile.

I guess I always thought of M&S as a middle-aged shop but they do have loads of good stuff. Our local one is very small and tends towards the more old-fashioned clothes, which doesn't help. Online is my best bet.

QueefofSheena · 25/10/2021 22:50

Sorry if it’s already been said but I think you’d need to do two separate transactions to get two M&S calendars. Could be wrong though,

That makes sense. I'm sure I'll figure that out.

Bavarois · 26/10/2021 09:10

M&S have some great stuff. Admittedly I'm a bit older than your daughter (31) but I've recently got a blazer, some gorgeous midi dresses, a jumpsuit and a coat from M&S. They also sell things from brands like Phase Eight and White Stuff. I wouldn't struggle to spend £30-40 at all. But I already have F&M and JL, another one would be excessive... For that sort of budget I do think Next or ASOS would be the best for a 21 year old but M&S is a good option given the shipping issues.

HundredMilesAnHour · 26/10/2021 10:56

For those of you planning to recycle an advent calendar and just refill it, CB's latest GWP will be released tomorrow. £185 spend required.

HowToMurderYourLife · 26/10/2021 11:06

Check your emails for the CB goody bag as there might be an early access code.

nomorefortnite · 26/10/2021 11:35

Harrods is back in stock for those looking to buy

MidnightMeltdown · 26/10/2021 11:47

If I could have the Harrods box with the NAP contents that would be ideal!

OMG Thank you!!

I think I'm done..... Have Harrods, CB, ASOS and Boots.

I have an addiction. Blush

LoveLabradors · 26/10/2021 12:16

Has anyone got a link to the contents of the CB goody bag please? Smile

MiaN · 26/10/2021 12:21

Thanks. I ordered few things I had in my bag - more selfcare set, chantecaille eye shade and cbd oil * 2 and got it. Online the account appear correct, but the confirmation excludes one item and includes the full charge for the goodie bag - hope I don't have isseu with it.

HowToMurderYourLife · 26/10/2021 12:26

If you scroll down to the bottom of your confirmation email it should show the deduction for the goody bag. As long as your total paid is correct I would not worry.
