I’m hoping I’ve been here long enough to be allowed to start the new thread. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s outfits as we move into my favourite fashion season.

@Justonedayatatime11 I'd echo Shannith's recommendation of Ariats. I have the Ariat Heritage jodhpur boots and Ariat Concord chaps and they're great. I find them really comfortable. I don't have my own horse, nor ride as much as I used to, these days, just potter on a share horse a couple of days a week whilst nursery fees take all my money, but I had another pair of these when I worked at a riding school and had two of my own and they served me well for full days on the yard, riding several a day, and I have to say I preferred them to wearing long boots all day - they also lasted better than my Ariat Bromonts, which fell apart within 18 months, but that was probably my fault for mucking out in them... 🤦‍♀️They're smart enough for competing, too, if you haven't got a pair of long boots as well (which I didn't after mine fell apart and my friend told me in no uncertain terms that I wasn't to go xc with my socks showing through the holes in my boots... 😂)

@CoraggioCara Love those jeans, how do they fit? I find Zara seem to run small compared to other shops so wonder whether I should size up? thanks :-)

@CoraggioCara I tried those jeans and sent them back size 8 too small size 10 fell off me! I find zara impossible for jeans.

@Sooverthemill that doesn't bode well for me! I try and avoid Zara as their sizing seems all over the place but I do like the look of those jeans. Might order a couple of sizes and send back if they aren't any good

I agree with @Justonedayatatime11 and @toastfiend about Ariat. I used to have my own horse and wore Ariats for years, giving them a lot of stick. Even with horse riding, they are great boots. Great for walking or just wearing generally. They will last a lifetime.

I had a free morning for the first time in AGES so I did some charity shopping. We don’t have a £1 rail like @Shannith and although our charity shops have some great stuff it’s not dirt cheap.

I picked up this Winser London dress but I am gutted because it is too big so it’s going back. I had hoped it would look “oversized” in a good way but it doesn’t, it just looks too big, gutted

It looks good @20FlowerPower but you could try this if you want?

I’m not sure about the gilet, but I’ll definitely wear it around my freezing cold house while WFH if nothing else

I’m trying really hard with my charity shopping to only buy stuff I will actually wear, and I’m pretty pleased with myself today. (Left behind lots of other tempting things )

Missed a load of posts somehow! How water are the ariat boots I want some waterproof boots for walking in puddles and winter mud sometimes little streams with the 5 year old but that are also comfy for actually walking in wellies just don't cut it.

Also great colour dress @KiteflyingKat could you get it taken in?

Great items @KiteflyingKat I bet you'll get loads of wear from the gilet they are very in this year or I've noticed them in loads of the new collection emails they send out.

Loving seeing all of your outfits. I'm really struggling with the transition from skinny jean to looser style though. I'm an 8-10 and 5'2 so everything I've tried on so far swamps me and looks ridiculous. Still can't find a pair I like!! Also struggling to work out how to wear boots with them? I'm guessing not tucked in? Don't you get cold ankles?! I really need some help please!!!

Thanks @Sickoffamilydrama . I’ve had Ariat boots before and they withstood deep muddy fields but you do need to look after them - I didn’t and they did crack after a couple of years

@TakeMeToBedOrLooseMeForever - the secret to warm ankles is knee socks.

@TakeMeToBedOrLooseMeForever I am by no means a fashion expert but I'm wearing the cropped or shorter length ones with chunky boots and long socks did it all last winter and it was toasty warm. Sometimes I roll the trousers up to show the sock a little.
I'm 5ft8 so everything is cropped on me at the moment they've all started doing 28" leg as standard I'm sure to save on material!

When I first moved away from skinny jeans I felt like all my new trousers were huge, but actually taking photos of myself made me realise they really aren’t & they actually look better on me than skinnies (another reason I like this thread as before I joined it never occurred to me to photograph myself!)

For winter I wear either high top trainers or ankle boots and roll the jeans so they sit just above the boot. In the very cold weather when I can’t face bare ankles I will wear a nice chunky sock which will be on show slightly.
I still wear skinnies with welly boots for proper muddy walks as I do find skinnies look better with wellies or country boots

And never letting DDs no matter how much they ask near said socks otherwise poof they disappear! Or buy bright colourful ones which they still try to acquire

@TakeMeToBedOrLooseMeForever I wear a cropped looser (non skinny) jean or trouser with trainers all year round but if wearing with boots would just roll up slightly like so ⬇️

@TakeMeToBedOrLooseMeForever I also struggle with jeans and footwear. In winter I wear

• cropped or rolled up jeans with boots (so the edge of the jeans sit at the top of the boot. Socks = trainer socks

-full length Gap straight leg jeans with trainers. Socks - ankle socks

• when it’s really cold I wear skinnies tucked into Uggs
