I’m hoping I’ve been here long enough to be allowed to start the new thread. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s outfits as we move into my favourite fashion season.

My outfit yesterday.

There have been some lovely things posted as always.

Update on the boots. If I sell them great if I don’t I’ve got some good boots for winter and walking in the country! People in real life have said to keep!

Dress - paper dolls. Old but never worn
Cardi - DKNY
Shoes which are actually lovely with ankle details and a high heel Next special collection or something!

I really dislike when adults decide, without provocation, to be unpleasant and then, rather than just coming outright and saying it, are too cowardly and "hide" it behind faux naivety and emojis. It's proper school playground style spite and and it's sad to see an adult behaving in that way. I'd also agree with @Ellapaella's points. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones and all that. Anyway, I love this thread, I've had lots of inspiration from it and I love how friendly everyone is. I've not been contributing as much lately as life has been a bit overwhelming, but I still check in every day and think you all look fantastic!

I've mostly been in old, scruffy clothes the past week or so as steadily moving back into the house now the painting is finished so haven't had much to contribute. I'm off to a work event this week and have a meeting tomorrow, though, so hopefully I'll have something more to contribute later this week!

Welcome lovely newbies and lurkers. Please come into the light and post. Love that dress @Pigtailsandall. It’s v like one I have from Ted Baker - must dig it out! I was in the office today in an oldie but a goodie Vivienne W dress. I am now back in my home office so heels are off and Marks socks are on! Purplecat, Models Own.

OublietteBravo · 18/10/2021 16:39

Hello and welcome to all the new posters.

I’m afraid my photograph was taken in the toilets at work (obviously the well-dressed office worker coordinates with the colour of the cubicle doors Grin).

Dress: Whistles
(Worn over a top from Boden)
Boots: Doc Martens

Boden even - great autocorrect!

JunieSpoony · 18/10/2021 18:58

Lurker here too.
@OublietteBravo, I LOVE that dress. Of course it's totally sold out everywhere. Why have I not seen it before? Sad

Sooverthemill · 18/10/2021 19:33

@JunieSpoony @OublietteBravo is the queen of whistles and also jumpsuits, she spots things no mortal can.

It's lovely to see all the newbies on here and presumably the opposite effect yesterday's poster intended! I live seeing real clothes on real people

Agreed there is a lot of nasty ‘School yard’ type bullying on MN. Style and beauty is nearly always a safe heaven from that. Lots of lovely, friendly women here.

Loving all of the new posts. 🙂

There used to be girls magazines in the 1980s that would have a section on ‘street fashion’ - they would just photograph people wandering round the streets and ask them where they bought their clothes from. I had SO many ideas from those sections.

That’s a very nice way of saying Oubliette spends far too much time internet shopping Grin.

Oh, and if you remind me about the ballgame towards the weekend, I’ll fish it out and try it on.

AnnieSnap · 18/10/2021 23:45

Morning! The weather isn’t as nice as I was hoping!

WFH.
Hareem Joggers - truly. I wouldn’t recommend as they bobbled really quickly.
Jumper - old m and s and cozy.

Morning!

Off to the pumpkin patch later and it's absolutely chucking it down but still really warm.

All my waterproof jackets are pretty thick so am keeping it light underneath.

Top - Dickies
Jeans - Topshop jamies
Slippers - asos

Pic of DD1 too as she was already suitably disguised for a photo 😂. Her outfit was a gift from DMIL - Asda I think. 🎃

@CrapAtThis gosh yes I remember that! Can’t remember which magazine it was, I loved Girl, Dreamer and Suzy as a young teen before moving onto J17, Mizz and 19.
Sooverthemill · 19/10/2021 12:07

@bendmeoverbackwards @CrapAtThis until recently, Grazia still did this. I also love this. I love the fashion week street looks but they already have the advantage over me of being known fashionistas usually not 'normal' people

JunieSpoony · 19/10/2021 14:14

@Sickoffamilydrama, I like the skirt but think maybe it's a bit short for its shape, iyswim. Could you try pinning the sides to see how it would look a bit straight? Although that might just make the under stomach creasing (I have the same issue but more so!) more noticeable since it looks pretty stiff/thick fabric.

Gonnagetgoing · 19/10/2021 15:06

Whistles long sleeved red top (picked up for £4 in Oxfam), Next cropped black jeggings, Ash Jalouse boots in grey, Cath Kidston blue ceramic earrings, H&M biker leather jacket.
