I’m hoping I’ve been here long enough to be allowed to start the new thread. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s outfits as we move into my favourite fashion season.

Gorgeous outfit @Sooverthemill - love the cords and agree with your DH that the coat is lovely.

Chilly out there today! I still went for my sea dip though and just heading out to walk the dog on the beach, will stop and get the dc hot chocolates on the way to persuade them to come out for some fresh air. I am going out later this afternoon for food and drinks but no idea what to wear. And my lovely Joules fairisle socks arrived - very cosy.

@EllaPaella you’re a much braver woman than me. I hate the cold and couldn’t imagine going for a dip unless I’m in a tropical environment 😳 I love your fairisle socks, lovely colours.

I have coat and sock envy @EllaPaella
@AnnieSnap I love all your purchases and would be really interested to see how that lovely stories dress looks in real life if you felt comfortable with posting a picture. Particularly love the fair Isle tank top.
Sorry it’s taken me so long to get it together! I put this on today just for the photos. This dress is, I think, the only item of clothing that I have paid full price for in years. I just couldn’t risk it selling out in my size. Looking at it in the photos, I think I could maybe have gone a size down.

Dress: & Other Stories
Leather Jacket Baukjen
Boots: Schuh own brand
Turquoise fish net tights: Better Tights (so similar to Snag in every way)

@AnnieSnap that dress looks amazing on you.

AnnieSnap · 16/10/2021 18:46

@Chrispackhamspoodle thank you 🙂

Sickoffamilydrama · 16/10/2021 18:52

That is a lovely dress and your while outfit looks really modern @Chrispackhamspoodle without being a fashion victim.

AnnieSnap · 16/10/2021 19:01

@Sickoffamilydrama that’s really nice of you to say. I love clothes and wear things I really like even at 62!

Softpebbles · 16/10/2021 19:49

Wrap cardi and jeans. Didn’t wear my boots but tried them on

Lovely cardigan @Softpebbles. Where is it from?

20FlowerPower · 16/10/2021 20:13

@AnnieSnap that dress is perfect - absolutely worth paying full price for. Love the Sweaty Betty jumper too - great colour.

AnnieSnap · 16/10/2021 20:16

Thanks for saying @20FlowerPower 🙂

Softpebbles · 16/10/2021 20:16

@AnnieSnap topshop! I look a bit dishevelled here!

AnnieSnap · 16/10/2021 21:33

@Softpebbles I loved Top Shop when I was a teenager and in my 20s and 30s. Since they closed the shops, I keep forgetting it still exists online.

@AnnieSnap thanks for posting, I love that dress and it really suits you. Absolutely spot on 👌

EllaPaella · 17/10/2021 00:06

Ps.. @AnnieSnap I am intrigued by the wooden carving on your wall, I have exactly the same and it was made by my uncle - he has also done a coffee table for us, exactly the same as yours. Such a coincidence- where did you get yours?

AnnieSnap · 17/10/2021 00:44

Thanks @EllaPaella 🙂 The carving came from a shop that closed down in the recession of 2007. It was a real favourite of mine and a chain, so you may know it, but for the life of me, I can’t remember the name (it’s going to drive me nuts nowhere)! I have a much larger carving and several pieces of furniture from their too. All made in Indonesia.

AnnieSnap · 17/10/2021 00:57

@EllaPaella The shop was The Pier. The cabinet in the photo is also from there.

Sooverthemill · 17/10/2021 06:53

I agree with everyone @AnnieSnap gorgeous sweatshirt and dress. And I've wanted a baukjen leather jacket for ages. How do they size? I often have to size down with their tops but up in bottoms. Also, well done for being super brave. Oh and I am 63 so we are almost twins

Thank you everyone for my outfit love. What does DH know indeed? I had a ridiculously lovely time seeing DS and him showing off the deli, I'm so proud of him he has turned his life around from 2017 when I was really worried about him and now he's a junior version of Jamie Oliver planning his next shop and expanding his bakery business. He is half owner of a deli business and also a bakery and they are setting up franchises for the deli. He's about to start supplying our local brewery with all their bread and pastries too. You won't remember but he was failing miserably at university and dropped out when DD was diagnosed with cancer in 2017 ( I think it gave him a wake up call) and he came home to look after the house and animals when we were living at Addenbrookes to care for DD as her underlying chronic health conditions meant she had to be an inpatient for 19 out of every 21 days chemo cycle. He then found a trainee baker job at our local artisan bakery and that was it, he found his vocation. Ironically, DD has been so unwell recently that we are back in the rounds of blood tests and massive worry as her results indicate that maybe her lymphoma is back. Fingers crossed.
Anyway, I had such fun taking boots to be resoled, buying far too much in the organic grocers, getting treats for my boys in the pet shop and generally chatting to DS who is so happy and chilled it's a joy. And all that fresh air and turning leaves was also lovely. Felt human!

That sounds like a truly lovely day soover and it is lovely that your ds has found his niche and something he loves doing.

I am a bit hungover this morning so planning on a bit of a lie in, breakfast in bed before we take the dc swimming later.
Here is my outfit from last night- met friends in a lovely bar for food and in the end one two many glasses of wine.
