Can anyone pull off a black leather jacket?

I’ve really been wanting one though never owned one before. How do you style yours? Also fake vs real ?

I have a black one from All Saints. It’s not super close fitting but I mainly wear in autumn/spring and like to fit a sweater under.

I also have a pastel one which is super close fitting and I wear on cooler days in the summer.

I also got a sainsburys one, I wore it to get married in and it is black like my dress.
It is still in excellent condition 3 years on, and I wear it frequently, but I suspect that the ends of the sleeves may start to look a bit worn by this time next year. When it is retired I'm going to pay for someone to embroider an illustration of DH and I on the back and include some of the left over beads from my dress
I will also then invest in a new one, better quality. Many many years ago I saw an Alexander McQueen leather jacket of dreams in TK Maxx, it was too small at the time so I didn't buy it but absolutely kicked myself a few years down the line when I saw a stranger wearing one and I was slim enough to have fit into the one I could have bought!

I've been inspired by this thread to treat myself to one when i get to my weight loss target. - half a stone left to loose (one and a half down to date )

Saw a totally Lush one in the window in Mint Velvet yesterday. Don't usually shop there, but gorgeous soft thick leather, short length (good for me as shortarse). Was £££ at £400 but it would last for ever. And looked good on!

Mine is Baukjen. All of their leather is a biproduct of the meat industry. Premium leather is from an animal bred just for their skin, which to me is a hideous thing to do.

Why can some people pull it off, like AnnieSnap (looking great!) and others, like, er, me, look like, as a MNetter put it so well on another thread, Susie Quattro’s nan…

I bought one from eBay - blazer style - and ds said I looked like Ewan McGregor . Or an extra from Life on Mars…

I like blazer style too Dotty - I'm aiming for Al Pacino.

Wearing my All Saints biker today. Perfect for autumn as it’s quite warm. They can go with anything!

I never wear mine any more because it never feels like the right temperature for it- either too warm or too cold. And there are too many of my clothes that don’t fit comfortably underneath it because they are too bulky. I have a varsity type jacket that fills a similar function but is far more practical.

I'm busty and short waisted so they make me look like boobs on legs.

I have a allsaints one, and one from ladaroute, I did have marks and spencer one but hardly worn it as it had to many zips and studs, I managed to sell it on ebay,

I love mine. I just got a £5 biker style one off Vinted. It's 2 sizes too big but it seems to work over everything.

I jave a black fake a and dusty pink fake. They look awful on me. I have a long body with big boobs. They make me look square. I wish they looked nice. They were my temporary one and if I got on OK I'd invest in a real one.

Hey you are right and I have a leather jacket from Topshop Petite and it makes a creaking sound when being worn and they would look nice with over the knee boots

I am sure there must be a way of you wearing it as it breaks my heart that you don't get to wear it much often and have you thought of styling your jacket with a pair of leather over the knee boots or can be suede depending on preference as I wear my leather jacket with leather over knee boots 😁
