Can anyone pull off a black leather jacket?

I’ve really been wanting one though never owned one before. How do you style yours? Also fake vs real ?

It was relatively expensive 20 years ago though - maybe £100 which was more then relatively speaking obviously. No metal work, not busy, not a biker jacket.

Real. I had a wonderful one that died after about fifteen years.

Real leather as it will last for ever and looks better with age.I have one from Zara which was £50 in the sale and is perfect for me.If you can go and try on though as the fit needs to be right.I suit them-wore them in my teens and now in my late 40s.Looks good with dresses,long skirts,boyfriend jeans

Sainsburys have got some in at the moment. 30 quid. Maybe not the most amazing but maybe good to try out before you invest in a fancier one.

I have a faux leather jacket from Sainsbury’s which I got a few years ago and I absolutely love it. It’s the collarless style which I agree sits / hangs much better on me than collared styles. Smarter for going out and nice with chunky scarves.

Over the years I’ve tried to replace it / upgrade it for a real leather one in the same style and have tried all saints, jigsaw and others but nothing actually measures up to the fit and shape of the Sainsbury’s one so I always end up walking away!

So this is just to say that it’s worth having a scout around on eBay for one of their collarless faux leather styles from previous years as they are fantastic and I always get comments on mine.

I look like a trucker if i wear one due to broad shoulders. Plus, i hate the stiffness, thickness and restriction.

I much prefer thin suede or cotton but i must admit, they look great on some people.

I highly recommend looking on ebay for a bargain.

Love mine. Definitely real leather, breathable and good for all seasons. You can dress up or down.

Style it with everything! I prefer real as I’ve never seen a good fake, but that’s personal choice.

I bought this fake leather jacket from amazon the other day. Wasn't expecting much but thought I'd just return it if it didn't suit. But I absolutely love it, its really comfy and flattering. I like how the bottom of the jacket isn't flat so it sits nicely on my waist. I'm a 14 and got a large.

Couldn’t agree more with previous posts. Leather jackets go with everything and can be worn at every occasion.
I have black, cream and a tan brown ones, all butter soft and owned for years.
The black one gets the most outings, but the tan brown one goes well with denim. The cream one is great for taking on holiday, travelling in and slipping over a summer dress.

I wear mine with everything, honestly. It's fake because that was much much cheaper. Jeans and a T-shirt, dresses, it works with everything. I have a more kind of rock-ish style so I tend to wear biker style boots too.

I saw a woman in her 50s today wearing a black leather jacket, mid wash wide leg jeans, a black and white polka dot scarf, and white trainers with a black stripe. She looked great.
