Black opaques with white trainers. Yay or nay?

With short black skirt and hoodie, or a short black dress.

Nay.

RogueV · 21/09/2021 10:08

No

OnceMoreOnToTheBeach · 21/09/2021 10:09

Generally nay, but I think it can work if you're doing a whole monochromatic look. It looks deliberate that way and not as if you have no idea what to wear other than white trainers, but it's too cold, so you stick some opaques with exactly the same summer dress and trainers you've been wearing for months, which usually isn't a look I like.

MrsFin · 21/09/2021 10:14

It's a bit Minnie Mouse, so no

Mamette · 21/09/2021 10:14

Nay imo.

Snoopsnoggysnog · 21/09/2021 10:15

No

Laiste · 21/09/2021 10:15

Noooooo! It can't be no!

Laiste · 21/09/2021 10:16

It will be monochrome. Black skirt, black hoodie .... ?

Depends how much you care about being ‘current’ maybe? A few years ago it was a thing.

It can look a bit like you’re on a commute and you’ll change into different shoes when you get into the office. But then that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Still no
LittleRen · 21/09/2021 10:26

At the point it becomes too cold to wear trainers and skirts/dresses without tights it’s time to switch to boots.

CovidCorvid · 21/09/2021 10:27

I totally would! 😂

SantanaBinLorry · 21/09/2021 10:28

nay. Tights and trainers are never a yay!

Laiste · 21/09/2021 10:29

@Hoppinggreen Grin

TwooThirty - you kind of have it really. I have to wear black, but my black ankle boots are too uncomfy for the miles of walking i will have to do on the day (London between 3 venues).

I could take a big bag and put my ankle boots in it and carry it round all day but i'd rather not. I wanted to wear my white Supergas. I've only got one pair of comfy shoes and it's them.

OP posts:
Gigia · 21/09/2021 10:29

No

PegasusReturns · 21/09/2021 10:29

Nope.

@TwooThirty the trainers really let that outfit down!

toastfiend · 21/09/2021 10:29

No, sorry, as others have said, it looks like you're commuting and going to change your shoes when you get to your destination.

Agree with @LittleRen that tights mean it's time to switch to boots.

Donotgogentle · 21/09/2021 10:29

Only on the way into work.

brittleheadgirl · 21/09/2021 10:31

I wear black opaque tights with all black nike trainers and mini skirts & dresses.
Is that an option?

EllieSattler · 21/09/2021 10:32

@toastfiend

Ah, classic look! Accessorised by a slightly sweaty, frazzled expression because the train you were meant to catch was cancelled and the next one was rammed Grin
CarbsAreNotMyFriend · 21/09/2021 10:34

I totally would!

LittleRen · 21/09/2021 10:35

I just hate this in between weather… I am desperate to get the boots and tights on, but it’s still too warm!!

Bluesheep8 · 21/09/2021 11:04

Another no from me

TokyoSushi · 21/09/2021 11:06

Definitely no. Your shoes should never be lighter than your tights in my opinion.

Bluntness100 · 21/09/2021 11:20

Defintely it’s a no. It’s like socks /tights and sandals.
