Would you wear this to an autumn wedding?

I'm going to a wedding at the end of October, still got a bit of baby weight to lose so my usual go-to's are a bit snug Blush plus wedding is in the Highlands so it might be quite chilly!

What do you think of this for a wedding guest dress? I tried it on and it was very flattering, but I'm swithering about how to style it...

Bright orange accessories + that dress makes me think of Sue Pollard going to her part time library job.

It’s a lovely dress and you like which is all that matters. You said it feels good on and that’s really important. It would look really nice with a navy beaded headband and navy shoes, just go for glamour with your hair and make up. And, added bonus, you’ll get years of wear out of it afterwards because Toast never dates. If you think you might be cold, pop a thermal layer under it.

@LastToBePicked
Yes I did wonder about the B und P shape, it has a waist so good for hourglass but not sure if it will work for a bigger bust. Scandinavian brands tend to be cut bigger so you never know

Also like this skirt and top combination

I would not wear that to a wedding. I wouldn't wear it anywhere.
Like others I like to get lots if use from my clothes bit that dress is drab and uninspiring in my opinion. I may wear it a funeral of someone I didnt know that well though.

Haha that's a good point actually! Maybe gold and royal blue instead?

No no no, it's irredeemable as a dress for a wedding!

Oh, stop it. It’s absolutely fine.

The b und P skirt and top is also a great look.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 21/09/2021 12:14

@Cruachan

OP, if you are an hourglass there is no way on earth you should wear that dress. I am an hourglass and have always veered away from Toast because they seem to specialise in baggy saggy things, despite people on here often saying 'oh, but they really don't'. That dress just confirms it. And if you're really pale I can't see the colours working either.
I agree with this. I'm a petite hourglass, about a size 10, and I'd look like I was actually wearing a patterned sack! There must be a better dress that fits your requirements OP
Blossomtoes · 21/09/2021 13:02

She’s tried it on and likes the way it looks. What’s the matter with you @BatshitCrazyWoman? She knows if she likes herself in it.

Floisme · 21/09/2021 13:15

I see the Joan Rivers wannabes are out in force today.

Toast dresses aren't normally my thing but I like this one and I think that, for the right kind of wedding, it could be dressed up nicely. I'm fair skinned and I think those colours would work for me.

My main concern would be the fabric: I find viscose can be prone to losing its shape (and yes I do think the dress has a shape) and I've got a bad feeling it might look a bit droopy by the end of the day, especially after a day of toddler chasing. Have you asked on the Toast thread if anyone has it? I don't post there but I think you'd get an honest opinion.

I like the jumpsuit too and can see how might look more occasion-y and that, on paper it might work better for an houglass shape (although to be honest, I'm a bit over all these dressing for your shape rules). However I'm thinking of your toddler and toilet issues...
