Would you wear this to an autumn wedding?

I'm going to a wedding at the end of October, still got a bit of baby weight to lose so my usual go-to's are a bit snug Blush plus wedding is in the Highlands so it might be quite chilly!

What do you think of this for a wedding guest dress? I tried it on and it was very flattering, but I'm swithering about how to style it...

If you like toast how about this one?

I think it's lovely if you manage to accessorise it a little bit. Large gold earrings for example or a chunky necklace. Shoes are important.. Maybe with a bit of a heel even though you're going with a toddler?

SeanMean · 20/09/2021 21:28

I think it's too casual for a wedding.

TweetyPieBird · 20/09/2021 21:29

Sorry, but it looks so so ugly. I wouldn’t pay £5 for it. I can’t believe it’s £180Shock

Whitedressparis · 20/09/2021 21:31

I would! Looks like a kind of “cool” city wedding vibe?

BoreiPuriHagafen · 20/09/2021 21:33

That depends. How much would you be paying me to wear it?

SpikeDearheart · 20/09/2021 21:35

Wow, lots of amazing ideas everyone - both for accessories and for possible alternative dresses - thank you all!

LastToBePicked - lovely dress but really not my colours alas - I'm blonde and veeeery pale blue

Love the idea of old gold and maybe a headband, with whatever outfit I choose. I always fall down on accessories, but I do know that old gold and rose gold suit my colouring best. I'm just sad that rose gold has become a bit ubiquitous - I was wearing it before it was cool Wink

I think it looks better on the model than it does in the flat images. But if you’re short and busty I’m not sure, I’d imagine it on a tall slim person, I’m surprised it doesn’t swamp you.

If you’re also wearing flat shoes I think it’s a bit frumpy but I think it’s better than the jumpsuit which is horrific.

MayorGundersonsDogRufus · 20/09/2021 21:48

Gold shoes

DGFB · 20/09/2021 21:55

It’s really awful, especially for a wedding. I agree, try places like Anthropologie. You can get dresses you’d wear time and again but which would just be a lot nicer

SpikeDearheart · 20/09/2021 21:57

Ok so I've got 14 no way, 15 yes and a handful of equivocals. I never thought this would turn out to be my most controversial thread Wink

GorgonzolaSouffle · 20/09/2021 21:59

Ooh no

You can do better than that for £180!

SpikeDearheart · 20/09/2021 21:59

DGFB snuck in as I was posting so it's now a straight tie between yes and no.

I went into Anthropologie at the weekend and there wasn't a single thing I wanted to try on, plus I kept getting barged out of the way by teenagers Confused

What size are you looking for?

lifehappened · 20/09/2021 22:05

It's a nice dress, defo not for a wedding (IMO) but at the same time I wouldn't really think much of it if someone did

BlameItOnTheBlackStar · 20/09/2021 22:06

Almost £200 Confused

I wouldn't wear that to work, never mind to a wedding!

You can do soooo much better if you're spending that kind of money.

SpikeDearheart · 20/09/2021 22:07

At the moment I'm probably more like a 12 than a 10 in most places, though an 8 in Toast, apparently Hmm hourglass shape with a decent waist, slight mum tum and, er, sturdy legs.

I love it, it's understated and classy. Big chunky gold jewellery, heels, hair, make-up. But afterwards, it's comfy, smart/casual - a great buy.
In fact I'm wondering wtf I can wear to a February wedding and you may just have solved the problem - thanks!!

feliciabirthgiver · 20/09/2021 22:17

Are you a geography teacher OP - This is the sort of dress I remember my teachers wearing?

heywhatswrongwitu · 20/09/2021 22:17

I love that dresses like this are stylish now. Effortless and comfy but look really chic. And you'll wear it a million times over.

SwedishEdith · 20/09/2021 22:44

Can be dressed up or down?

How about this?
I love their prints. Ticks the breastfeeding box.
Not sure about the toast one, fabric looks like it could fall well. But colour isn’t great.

Really not keen on the jumpsuit. Not a good sign when something doesn’t even flatter the model.

Zenithbear · 20/09/2021 22:52

That's one fuck ugly dress. You couldn't pay me to wear it. I love dressing up for special occasions, it's so not me, far too dreary for a wedding imo.

Are you a hipster op?

GorgonzolaSouffle · 20/09/2021 22:53

I really think you are thinner than you think you are and you are trying to swamp your figure into a baggy dress whereas actually a slinky dress would make you look thinner

Lyricallie · 20/09/2021 22:57

I'm so sorry but I think that it's a bit dull for a wedding. It's supposed to be a celebration!
