Thanks royal style fans for the thread title!
We need banquets, some diplomatic visits and more weddings. Oh and more of gorgeous Charles (you know the one I mean!)

Sophie's hair and makeup look nice but I'm not sure the top and skirt are particularly flattering.

Maireas · 10/10/2021 15:25

I agree, I think that the cut of the top isn't very flattering, although her hair and makeup are lovely.

Going back to Princess Mako she spent a year studying for her MA in Art Museum and Gallery Studies at the University of Leicester.

Maybe living in my original home city rubbed off on her as we are known for our mardyness & being awkward pitas at times 😂 however us Leicesterians are also very loyal & kind.

alphabetspagetti · 10/10/2021 17:56

Just reading an article in yesterday's Times and it referred to the fact that Chris Packham the nature bloke is the brother of Jenny Packham the dress designer. For some reason, that really surprised me. Perhaps because one probably spends a large amount of time wet & muddy and the other no doubt in a well ordered & pristine studio.

justasking111 · 10/10/2021 19:14

Another lovely brooch.

@alphabetspagetti Was it the "inside the home of Jenny Packham" piece? That's just come up in my Apple news but I don't have a subscription so can't read it.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 10/10/2021 22:53

Not the same article but Jenny mentions her brother Chris Packham here
www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-9393259/amp/Jenny-Packham-56-studio-north-west-London.html

Apparently Chris would bring home various animals such as tarantulas & snakes!

Between Mako and Richard III you’ve had your fair share of royals hiding in plain sight in Leicester
Eaumyword · 11/10/2021 06:54

Just had a Shock Eureka moment! I had no idea Chris and Jenny Packham were related!

KillingMeDeftly · 11/10/2021 07:12

Ooh Jenny P has a book out!

Serenster · 12/10/2021 08:08

@Eaumyword - this randomly popped up on my Instagram this morning. It’s not a dress of Diana’s that I’d remembered at all, but I literally saw it and thought of you Grin. I wondered if this is the one you were thinking of?

Eaumyword · 12/10/2021 10:18

Ohhh YES! Thank you so much!
Also love that I got thought of! Warm and fuzzies! Smile ♥️

AdaColeman · 12/10/2021 11:03

Nothing to do with the thread, but just wanted to say how much I loved all the Richard III events, his remains being recovered, him being reburied and so on.

I did a course about it not long afterwards, and the Dean spoke about how they had made choices for the service, the memorial stone etc.

I found the whole thing very touching.

eggandonion · 12/10/2021 16:46

I wonder could Diana have had a happier life if Charles had understood that she was an asset to the family? She had a tough childhood, she was encouraged to marry a much older man, but she looks so interested in people.
What a shame nobody was interested enough in her. Her hiv interests were amazing at the time.

Spanish National Day. Felipe looks very dashing. I'm not sure about the cut of Leti's dress, but she's as elegant as ever. Sofia looking nice, Leonor in Wales of course.

MotherofPearl · 12/10/2021 20:43

Yes I saw that dress of Leti's Maireas. I'm also not sure about the cut. Isn't it very similar to the pale blue one she wore a few weeks ago?

HMQ looking good in blue, though I see she's walking with a stick. She and PA have been at a service of thanksgiving at Westminster Cathedral. I think we've seen the amethyst suit on PA before, and it's a lovely cut (though as I'm always mentioning, purple is my least favourite colour). I'm hoping @AdaColeman will be able to tell us about HM's impressive brooch.

CPM's hair looks nice like this, and I like her necklace, but I think the grey suede boots look all wrong with the black skirt and jumper. The boots have an unpleasant 80s vibe to me, which I suppose may be fashionable but not to those of us who lived through the actual 80s.

Those boots make it look like she's half dinosaur.

MotherofPearl · 12/10/2021 21:24

Grin Deftly

Maireas · 12/10/2021 21:28

Oh golly. Her feet think it's 1986.
Not a fan of the boots, but the rest of the outfit is nice. HM looking good, it's wise to use the stick just to be steady, rather than taking a tumble. A nice strong colour from her, also Anne!

Eaumyword · 12/10/2021 21:43

Lots to look at!
Love CPM's top and skirt it yes Deftly, definitely part Velociraptor!
@MotherofPearl I totally had these boots in the '80's but they were flats, to complete the New Romantic Spandau vibe. Damn, I thought Ilooked cool.
I think HMQ and PA look fabulous.
@eggandonion, interesting comments and I agree about Diana's HIV work. It seems clear that Charles thought she was competing with him and he could have channelled her popularity better as a team. Sadly, just a complete mismatch of personalities from the start.

Tinitiny · 13/10/2021 05:44

@KillingMeDeftly

Those boots make it look like she's half dinosaur.
🤣 Totally! Maybe she didn’t have a full length mirror wherever she got dressed? 🤷🏻‍♀️ The rest looks nice - lovely swishy Kate-like hair.

Queen Rania with Sheikha Moza of Qatar, the current Emir's mother. Both are very stylish but good grief there's lot of fillers and Botox there. Sheikha Moza is in her 60s!!

Both stylish and beautiful but strangely expressionless. Is that lady really in her 60's? In profile particularly, she looks incredible.
