Good on the Japanese princess. Maybe Harry’s reclaiming of his personal life has encouraged her to stand up to the grey men at court, who apparently are responsible for the present emperor’s wife’s depression.

Masako seems a lot better now but was out of sight for years at one point. She is Harvard-educated and was on track to become a diplomat before she married so I guess the court restrictions were especially hard to get used to.

Duchess Sofia is a very stylish dresser, she seems to like unusual colour combinations and fabrics, she looks as though she’s really interested in fashion.

Lovely pics. Happy to read that the couple now have a baby daughter, Rosario. I like that the guests have embraced colour, although some of them seemed to have embraced furnishing fabrics as well .
Maxima looks gorgeous in those pictures, I really like her fearless attitude to colour and texture, she really seems to enjoy fashion!

We some how missed Anne’s two day visit to Paris earlier this week, where she visited Longchamp Racecourse to watch the Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe, with the richest prize in European horse racing (there was a shock winner!). Anne presented one of the prizes wearing a lovely teal outfit, with a feather decorated hat that I’m sure she had borrowed from Her Maj!

Oh, I like Anne's outfit. The cut of the coat is lovely. HM zesty indeed, and wearing a brooch that was a wedding gift. Nice touch.

Yes, the huge rose shaped brooch was part of a wedding gift to Princess Elizabeth in 1947, from the Nizam of Hyderabad.

It was an extremely generous gift of a sumptuous Cartier diamond tiara and matching necklace. The tiara included three detachable rose shaped brooches, and it was one of these that Her Maj was wearing at Buckingham Palace a few days ago.

The Nizam was reputed to hold the most extensive collection of jewellery in the world at that time, and the beautiful tiara he gave Elizabeth was seen in use occasionally. But in the 1970s it was dismantled by Garrards (then the Court Jeweller), though the brooches and the necklace remained entire. Kate has worn the necklace very occasionally.

In spite of his stunning gift, the poor Nizam didn't attend the wedding celebrations!

We also missed Sophie at do. Probably a good thing as not one of her best looks. Needed a bra intervention.
